No, never heard about it actually

its the same type of game they started out text based "look around" "pickup thing" "push button" which evolved into a mouse clicky adventure
        https://www.scummvm.org/
and it seems the genre has somewhat died slightly seen in homosexual steam story dating games

Also, is scummvm worth it over dosbox?

I got it as a gift when I was a kid, my whole universe was like ten games, I only started knowing more about other ones from the 90's years later

+1 suggestion for Space Quest. It's hilarious

Most undeservedly forgotten racing game on the PS1 unless I'm forgetting something else right now.

My god, someone other than my cousins and I played this game. Damage system was surprisingly thorough.

I bought it recently after yeeears longing for it but my backlog is pretty stacked right now. Great to know the games still holds good despite being from last century

All things considered it's well written and has a cool setting, it's also on the short side, worst case you'll take four hours to go through the whole thing
I confess I got stuck in a few parts and had to use a walkthrough, but even then it was fun

Kind of a weird pick but Mashed is such a great racing game. I had owned Micro Machines V4 on the PS2 for such a long time but didn't realize this game was basically the suped-up version of it.

It's like Burnout and Mario Kart had a weird bastard child.

Mashed was so fun. My buddies and I discovered it on a magazine demo disk one day and ended up playing the demo all night. We liked it so much we went out on a mission first thing in the morning to buy the actual game. Being able to fire missiles to frick with people when you get knocked out was a great move.

I wasn’t really blown away by it the same way I was with the Monkey Island games or Grim Fandango but it had its moments for sure. Oddly enough I rather liked the shitty combat sections. Don’t remember much else about it, though.

What needed peak iq was the demolition derby or the minefield, that game really doesn't hold your hand

This fricking game, man. You know when sometimes a retro title sneaks up on you and just grabs you by the balls? This was definitely one of those. The last time it happened for me was with Arx Fatalis, and even then I was convinced that no retro game would blow me away like that one did.

    Fortunately, I was wrong.

dungeon keeper, look into keeperfx to get it running smoothly on modern systems

I've heard about that one. Is it any good?

        yeah, it's a classic
there's a sequel and some modern spiritual successors and while they make a noble effort, they never quite nailed it like the original

Me, but with Age of Mythology right now. I'm 13 missions into the campaign and it's been far, far better and more engaging than it has ANY right to be.

I picked up this game with a used 360 and fell in love with it, just in time for the multiplayer servers to go offline. Glory to Morskov.

That fricking kick the wall puzzle still doesn't make sense

      Yeah it really doesn't
I suppose there was some kind of miscommunication between the writers and drawers and/or programmers

It's been a while since I played, but what didn't make sense about it? Isn't it just a secret passage Maureen tells you about?

        Anonymous

The stuff she said about a crack in the wall doesn't make sense with the art, you're forced to kick the wall randomly to find the right spot

          Anonymous

Oh, I remember getting annoyed with that, but I guess in terms of puzzle design it doesn't seem so bad to me. Like you know there's a secret spot somewhere on that wall, it's realistic that you have to search around a bit.

Played this late last year after having it on the backlog for ages, I remember a friend hyping it up back when it came out but never got around to playing it.
Finished Cataclysm as well earlier this year, both great games that still hold up amazingly well today. Couldn't get into Deserts of Kharak though, it just seems kind of lackluster in comparison.
