RE Engine's fine. Starting to get samey and using RE2make as a base probably won't bode well for the action era that the remakes are stepping into, but the engine's fine for a game like RE2make and honestly, fuck the action games anyways.
I have no complaints. It runs great on my mediocre system, handles various enemies moving in tandem well, and gave us the hottest babes I've seen in vidya for the last five years.
