The funny thing is the game could have better graphics by upping the textures, the game barely uses 4gb of VRAM. It’s baffling, I don’t even know what is eating up all the GPU usage. Maybe it’s all the morons. Also, nvidia gpus are like 33% slower in this game versus AMD ones. Some GPUs are running cool too, so they aren’t running the GPUs to their full utilization.

You can look at a planets data while in orbit and see if they are barren or not. If they arent then you just pick a place to land that has livable temperature for the highest chance to see vegetation and animals.

I have at least 6 and I haven't really tried looking for them. You kinda grab them easily if you're doing the main quest. I think there's only 4 of them that are romance-able though.

What is the point of companions with non-combat related perks. Like Outpost Engineering is a player skill that enhances outpost buildings, what does a companion having it do?
I'm not exactly sure. The only thing I think is working is the Botany perk on Sarah. Every once in a while she'll gift me weird plant shit like an autistic girl. She literally gave me a leaf at one point as a gift.

curie gives stimpaks, piper gives sweets like nuka cola and gumdrops, etc
When you assign them to a ship or outpost you gain that perk as if you had it but localized to that outpost. Putting sarah on an outpost will let you start growing plants even if you dont have the botany perk yourself.
Yeah there's only a few main companions and you lose them all if you play as a bad guy.
The minor companions can still comment on stuff in the world but they have less to say, don't have strong perks and can't interrupt dialogue like the primary companions.

You can't kill many characters. It's the worst Bethesda game when it comes to essential NPCs by far. If they have a name chances are they're unkillable.
Jemson, the one that has New Atlantis, is both a paradise planet and has a dominant forest biome. Walk right out of the city and you can immediately confirm this.

Just don't pick it up numbnuts, you get more than enough credits from grabbing weapons and selling them. Average weight to value ratio for what's worth it is around 1 mass to 2000 creds.

everything looks very muddy though. i don't think it's TAA because that usually makes things look smeared in vaseline. everything in this picture looks almost featureless in this picture, like it lacks depth. i wonder why.

it's on medium, i could turn on scaling and then turn on sharpening which may help for screenshots
well i changed some settings around and it still looks like it's lacking 'depth' although i don't think the weather is helping me
i think it looks a little better, but the problem is the lackluster shadows. i blame the game, not your settings.
Either way i now have sharpening and other settings higher. No performance issues really but it looks a lot better so thanks.
