>sweaty tryhards everywhere, no one is chilling, talking or having fun
>kb+m feels like work instead of a fun controller
>end up buying hundreds of games in sales only to play 1 or 2 of them
after many years I've come to accept that I've been memed on. PC really isn't the master race everyone makes it out to be, especially if you actually want to have fun. Gankertards will cope and call me a casual but it's true.

no joke I play way more games just because of the pick up and play nature of it, not to mention how fun tinkering is

I didn't buy it to tinker with it, I bought it to play my games. Then you find out so many aren't playable. Games that are literally designed to be played with a controller can't be played because Valve decided to go Linux based and not get along with shitty launchers and anti-cheat software.

Of all the complaints to levy at steam deck, like it's battery life, and grip buttons that don't always feel the most comfortable, you choose the retarded non issue that is solved with steam input configuration. I have literally never once had an issue with controls on that thing, and the controller "issues" are not unique to linux either. Learn to download community configs or make your own, retard.

        >anti cheat and alternative launchers
Fair enough, I don't play those kinds of games, it's mostly 30 minute bursts of single player games here and there when I have time.
Still, I think it's a compelling option for a lot of people regardless.
It's also a very capable portable emulator and piracy is braindead easy, but if you weren't gonna go this route I wouldn't recommend it.

I have a better time just installing the game and clicking on its desktop shortcut. No bullshit, just straight to the game which is why I like GOG's installers.

yeah you might be right. but there has always been something that's rubbed me the wrong way with pc players. I feel I have to work for my friends, and everyone has an ego of some sort. I can't just chill out. maybe this is a trend in gaming as a whole or I'm getting older.

It's a trend since around 2009 onwards. I mean the roots were probably before that around 2005 but it was a progression and not an instant switch. I first noticed it around wrath of the lich king(wow) when videos of people dying and weird shit started getting popular and I always found all that disgusting.

People who don't know you just plug your xbox 360 controller into your pc to play pc games are being lied to and misled. Also: steam deck with a dock. I have it hooked up to my tv with a wireless mouse/kb AND a controller, I have zero issue with any game. Stop trying to play games with a kb/mouse, get an xbox controller and plug it in to your pc like a normal person.

I think something about the way the social features are set up on steam makes it anti social. I want to use it sometimes but realize that there's that public profile and I don't even bother.

And yes the people who have over a certain amount of playtime should be put in their own category for multiplayer than everyone else, and no not some invisible matchmaking bullshit. There should be a clear and publicly known separation; it needs to account for past titles in the series as well since that knowledge can carry over. I miss the days when I learned a game with my friends and we progressed together. Now every gay is like "durr look up a guide". Goddamn I don't even want to play if those are the rules.

Not true at all. More antisocial yes buy more antisocial the the way there is less morons yelling over mic
    >$1000 skins in every valve title
So don't buy them. Valve games aren't really worth playing anymore anyways

I like pc but I don't care about having a lot of people on my friends list or talking on the mic. I also never fell for the buying lots of games only to never play them meme because I pirate. I only buy games I know I'll play
