I only remember 1 major place it was necessary, and out of all the other times it was unnecessary, it was easier to do on the bigger platforms, rather than the infamous single platform on the water to get a useless item.
What kind of a name is Dark Fact?
Fact is the family name, Dark is apparently his actual first name though.
>Playing YS: Ark of Napishtim >Talk to NPCs for a while >2 directions to go >1 is a dead end >The other is a "boss" that my attacks cause 0 damage >Uninstall
Any Ys game that is actually fun?
A really fun series >Wanderers from Ys
Eh but ok music >Mask of the Sun
Alright >Dawn of Ys
more bump combat but absolute top tier OST >Lost Kefin
Don't >Ark of Napishtim
Solid >Oath in Felghana
pinnacle of the series >Origin
also pinnacle of the series >Seven
pretty good for something made for the PSP >Memories of Celceta
eh >Lacrimosa of Dana
starting to lean harder into weeb shit but the game really feels like an adventure >Monstrum Nox
hit or miss
>I remember it having a good soundtrack too.
That does not narrow it down in Ys. Some might argue IX doesn't, and it's weaker, but there's still some real good tracks.
>higher refresh rate makes the Dark Fact fight in Ys 1 near impossible due to game speed being tied to it
Wish I had known that sooner before beating it. Was ready to do some hair pulling.
Instead of going 3D, it should've gone the Nier route where they have 3D assets, but isometric and can switch between 2D sidescroller to 3D topdown view and isometric.
>Those areas in the 2D Y's games where it was like the game was showing you this awesome background scenery as you journeyed on
You can't get more soulful than this. Why did we have to leave 2D?
The Oath in Felghana is probably the best Ys game ever, you can stop after you beat it a few times
I see people say this all the time, but I prefered the ark of napishtim. I think I just really like girls with long ears
Cool Napishtim bro, I enjoy the tropical/jungle setting over Felghana's countryside
Napishtim setting is cool but the dash jump that is required to reach some items is pretty unorthodox.

>dash jump
I though it was almost impossible when I first played the game, keyboard only. Not so bad with a controller.
You mean Dalk Fukt?
>I see people say this all the time
Because they're retards who can't form their own opinions
There are reasons to think it's the best one. My favourite is Origin, though.
Napishtim has my favourite music in the series and I do prefer it to Oath but come on, Origin is clearly the best game in the series
probably a nap, how long was that gaming sesh?
>What am I in for?
fun games full of fucking bangers
Burnout
Kamige in Felghana.
But do take a break from them. You'll get burn out.
Feena...
>mfw tia______________
You probably want to play Origin next before Oath since Origin is sort of a prequel to Ys 1 and 2.
What kind of a name is Dark Fact?
Dark Fukt
Play Y's Origins.

Ys VI has some pretty harsh level scaling, but I think I know the boss you mean and it has a weakpoint you have to hit or something?
The first boss does, but honestly you might be doing close to 0 damage if you just go there at level 1, anyway.
actually hard game compared to a certain popular serie nowaday.
The Ys games are only hard if you play them on nightmare or inferno.
and that's a good thing

I played one a bit in which I bumped shit to death. Never finished. Which one was that I was drinking to much at the time.
1 or 2
Cool. I'm gonna search around. I remember it having a good soundtrack too.

I don't think I enjoyed a boss fight more in a game.
It's probably between him, and Kishgal (as Toal) for me.
Back when YS was good and had a distinct persona. 3D was a mistake

8 almost had this at the top of the mountain and seeing all the cool shit on the other side. ruined by fog and vita graphics
Stop at 6 but don't forget to play Origins.
