Just deleted this, I hate visual novels. Are any of the other Digimon games worth playing?

cyberslut was pretty nice for a pokemon clone
He said he hated visual novels, dipshit.
so play the ds games then
Good thing it's not one then, gay.
legitimately none of them are good games compared to actual good games. sluts is barely tolerable but horribly repetitive battle arenas make it shit. and the old games aged like cheese and are hardly fun, mostly grindy shit.
the only "good" digimon games were the rumble arena games/
>Grindy shit
which one, i like the meme about digimon world 3 being grindy. You can literally hit 999 in defense at lvl 10 and just breeze through it.
World 2 is the grindy one. World 3 is known for being backtracking and random battles: the game
Here, though keep in mind that no Digimon game is a 9/10 masterpiece and even the best ones have some bumps
>DW1
The classic, basically an extended video game adaptation of the v-pets with town building and ps1 charm/jank and a lot of subsystems and mechanics that are needlessly complex but also adds to the expierence as a result
>World Digitize/Recode or New Order
More modern World style titles. Somebody else will have to explain which is better or their pros/cons
>Cyber Sleuth
Monster collecting JRPG with a Hip modern trendy Persona/SMT/Danganropa-esqe tone. Has more narrative emphasis and a darker tone then something like Pokemon and quality of life features but is more repetitive and grindy. Complete edition includes the sequel (generally regarded as having better writing) and balance changes/digimon backported from it
>Digimon Story DS
Confusingly titled "World DS" overseas. Basically CS's format but sprite based and with isometric dungeons, without as much freeform evolution but also a slightly more nuanced battle system with multiple zones on the field that attacks can hit. I'd consider CS a mostly straight upgrade unless you really want a more minimalist story or can't stand weebshit
>Survive
Visual novel with light (emphasis on LIGHT) tactical RPG elements. Even darker then CS and widely is considered to have pretty good character writing and visual presentation but the tactics sections are braindead.
Some people also reccomend World 2/3 which are more dungeon crawler and monster collector but I don't know enough about them to comment in depth.
See https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/624111058/#624118369 for anime
goona try Cyber Sleuth and Digimon Story then
Did you really grab it without even looking at what kind of game it was first?
the description says its a hybrid game, not pure visual novel, so its easy to get baited into hours of 2d cutscenes with barely any gameplay
Survive was so fucking cliched and boring as fuck, I was waiting for it to get good but it just never did and I didn't even get to fucking see all the evolutions for my party members because I missed some gay cutscenes or bonding events or whatever and you need to fucking new game+ to keep two of them alive
>he got moral (the most boring ending)
lmao, maybe next time don't be such a neutralcuck and you'll get the cool shit
I don't mind VNs, but holy shit, every single thing you do in this game has an unnecessary half second delay to the point where just navigating the menus feels like you're walking through molasses.
If can like it Digimon World 1 is hands down the best Dgimon game. But not everyone can get behind the concept of its gameplay let alone master it.
What are some specific mechanic differences compared to Next Order and Redigitize? Next Order has some severe frontloaded grinding, and I don't remember having too much of an issue with Redigitize.
I never played NO and I barely remember RE: Digitized so the little I can say is training is either a rigged slot machine or a fixed number. There isn't any minigame tied to it. Also when you die from losing three battles you lose a technique. I'm pretty sure That isn't a thing in RE. Every other difference I can think of is a game design one. Like there is very little story, or how each area is small so it's easy to navigate and get to places without wasting time.
>Also when you die from losing three battles you lose a technique
Fucking hell, I'd be losing all my technique then. Can't remember how many times I'd fucking bite it in NO. Maybe I should give World 1 a shot. I did enjoy the two World games I played. You wouldn't happen to have the game on hand, would you?
Just google for the iso. It's on all the major hosting sites. Also, word of advice: talk to everyone in File City routinely. Some events require that to activate them.
They are the same, except next order holds your hand way more by showing how to get new digimons and you can literally make your digimon 999 in all stats without losing a day by just exploiting fights
IF YOU PLAY CYBERSLUT PLEASE SKIP EVERY CONVERSATION
Fuck,it's a 3hr shitshow if you actually read everything, from the start, just skip it all and you may get 1hr button mashing till the game let you actually play it, no other flaws from my point of view
world 2003 is kino and I will not accept any rebuttals.
Cyber sluts is great.
world dawn/dusk, they're a bit grindy but im into that
Next Order is kinda shitty. I was hoping for a modern World, but it just lacks soul.
>can't watch your Digimon actually do the training
>MMO style enemy and quest placement
>N64 tier environments that looks like shit
>can't watch digimon shit
>Very surface level conversations with digimon. You meet that just stand there; ie a text box
>can't jump and invisible walls everywhere (guess that's just a Jap thing but it feels shit to walk around)
>small open area or hallway
Idk I might sti k with it for a bit longer, but it just lacks the charm of the original world. I wish it would get a remake. Even with pixelshit indie gfx
Forgot pic
It kind of got a remake, though it was just visual enhancements with the International Edition.
Nha, forget about remake, they would just make it shittier.
Next 0rder is pretty fun. I think is a good way to go, just need to polish somethings, smaller areas, drop the fetch quests and other things.
when will they finally make a good digimon game
hows digimon world next order
Digimon World 1. Compared to the other games that try to replicate it (Re:Digitise and Next Order), the PS1 graphics are much more endearing, and fit the early digimon aesthetic better. Plus, the exploration feels more fun, because the lack of handholding makes discovering things more enjoyable.
I would say Digimon World 1 offers the most unique experience. You definitely need a guide and patience to eget the mons you want though. The game is pretty cryptic and resources are scarce at first
