The only way to get the ace combat games running on my steam deck
I fricking despise pcsx2 but I've given up hope on getting any other functional PS2 emulator. I only use it on my deck since it's not like I can lug my ps2 and gbs control around
the automatic widescreen and deinterlacing patches can work miracles but I just can't stand how most games when upscaled flicker like fricking crazy to the point of being unplayable. And when you go to the pcsx2 wiki the literal only fix posted is "use software mode"
>automatic widescreen and deinterlacing patches >upscaled
Nah frick you and frick all this gay bullshit
PS2 games are meant to run from 240p to 480p + interlaced resolutions. If you want to scale it/deinterlace you can do so with an external scaler.
Emulators should strive to be as accurate and low latency as possible, all this gay patchy hacky bullshit is what makes pcsx2 dogshit spaghetti code.
Started playing through that series lately. For me 4 was having a lot of issues, played the whole game with a dark plane and the sun having some weird texture, 5 emulated pretty much perfectly though and so has Zero so far (only played the first mission yesterday though). Still wish the emulator was better but what can you do, at least most of the games are playable now
AC4 has been unplayable on pcsx2 for almost 20 years now.
insane
