Gamers didn't lecture anyone on the morality of piracy when pirated versions were sold on discs in the early gaming era, when there was no torrenting scene (this also includes movies and music). My only guess is that many people feel guilty for enjoying things for free. It is just hypocritical moralgays projecting. I actually liked having a physical copy, and official versions usually were better aesthetically. Then, games became services, and you needed to download the whole game even if you had a physical copy. I understand why things became like this, but it made me feel like physical copies became superficial

The reason there's no justification beyond archiving or the 0.1% of actual try before you buy gays is that if a games not worth paying for it has so little value it's not worth wasting your time to play

I pirated Balatro. I liked it. I bought it.
If piracy was never an option I would never have played it. Piracy won them a sale
