Yeah I cheesed the end part with shock spells though lol don't know why it worked plus I had to grind like 3-4 levels and fuse a new persona to get enough damage
This fight felt really moronic, it was really easy besides the big 4 green robots that you have to kill in two turns. Only one of your party members has skills they're weak to while they resist basically everything else. Shes also the newest in your party and probably a lot weaker then your normal party members and for me she didn't even have a stronger version of psi, just the normal shitty version. They even throw in a random defense buff to make one of them harder to kill so they reset. Plus they don't let you use all out attacks for no fricking reason. Had to just go and make Bugs for Psidyne and prolapse them but it was still moronic.
>Only one of your party members has skills they're weak to
This misconception is why everyone has trouble with the fight. In reality all of the 4 homies in a row have two weaknesses not one.
Dont care. Didnt like dungeons and combat in Persona 4 and didnt like dungeons and combat in Persona 5.
I just want to get them done as quickly as possible to get back to the actual fun part of the game
Royal Okumura is almost impossible to beat on hard without OP DLC personas or going back to do autistic levels of fusions to get the best psy or dark skills available to you
I genuinely had to prepare more for this fight than I did for Nocturne hardtype Matador. I don't think they playtested it on hard, it was awful l.
>anything in this game >hard
I just beat him first try, you can use party member swaps to easily maintain weakness coverage along with items. Having an aoe phys + charge + apt pupil persona is also good despite what the fight might lead you to believe; use attack items to string along a max baton pass onto a tarukaja + charge Joker and his aoe physical skill will still shit out tremendous damage, resistance be damned. I think a single target weakness skill does like 200 tops while the optimally setup physical aoe did 500 damage to every enemy.
>Predator teacher becomes a grotesque demon of lust >Fraud artist becomes a twisted self-portrait >Greedy mafia boss becomes uhhh Purple Fly Hitler
This is where they started running out of ideas, right?
he became a fly because that's what he sees himself as, without his goons and money infront of him that he has now he could easily be hit by a fly swatter like the filthy insect he is and he knows this
The point is that he doesn't have any delusions of greatness. Kamoshida and Madarame thought they were the hottest shit beloved or hated by all. Nobody knows Kaneshiro's name, by his own design. Despite all his money he's a nobody, a tiny figure hiding under walls of protection.
he gave teens easy delivery jobs with massive pay but actually used it to take evidence that they are drug smugglers and blackmailed them with the evidence
It's mildly clever IMO. Not amazing, but a lot of people go with the obvious reference to food when it comes to Gluttony when it's just getting a lot of shit in excess to the point it's incredibly wasteful. Kaneshiro clearly didn't need the ridiculous amounts of money he was getting, and one point just hands a fat stack to his b***h for no reason except as stress relief.

Admittedly I'm not much of, well, no authority at all on this, but from my understanding of it, the primary difference tends to be that Greed tends to be hoarding for the sake of having it, whereas Gluttony tends to be an increasing overindulgence, where you're not just hoarding and/or consuming, but you also need more. They can go hand in hand a lot of the time, but that's my understanding anyways, someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Definitely more than that. Futaba is about the halfway point of the game. > black mask and someone powerful pulling strings behind the curtain
Eh, i mean a few words here and there don't seem like much for characters you spend so long trying to take down.
At least in 3 defeating the FM Shadows is what leads to the release of the final boss and the fact that chasing the killer in P4 is a bread crumb trail is the point.
i dont think these 2 arc were particularly long

Maybe it's been a while but I remember getting somewhat annoyed at those parts because it seemed like madarame, Makoshida, and Kaneshiro were pretty interchangeable.
also introduces that kobayakawa is also involved with the whole thing (and not just keeping quiet to not lose his star teacher) and is required to dig into the phantom thieves or something might happen to him aswell which hints to the player that the roots around the town goes deep for the bad guys connections
Most of the villains in the game are just there for the sake of being a villain, it's the party member that joins in any given month that gets the focus in each arc rather than the villain, who's usually a pretty shallow character who doesn't do much other than represent some societal issue and antagonize whatever party member's joining. He's the same as most other villains in the game in that regard.

He'll spend the next 20 years or so in prison, since he, you know, killed two people.
pretty sure they left villains backgrounds simple on purpose
to save time probably, since they ended up having to do a literal infodump on you after the twist
I think the writers are fine at making compelling villains, and I also don't mind the shallowness of a lot of the villains in this case because I think focusing on the victims of whatever issue is more relevant to the themes of the game than doing something like giving Kaneshiro some sob story just for the sake of fleshing him out, I think the issue is just that a lot of the antagonists in the game just have little screentime. Maruki and Kamoshida are heads and shoulders above the rest, and while Maruki is a more fleshed out character, I think the main reason they're both better than the rest is just that you see plenty of them and they have a real sense of presence. Characters like Kaneshiro and Okumura being as shallow as they are would be fine with me if you actually got to see them more, but as they are it feels like you just get an introduction that's just ticking the boxes so you know what their deal is and then you don't see much of them at all until they confess.
buying new guns from untouchable, no not really, you can get much better guns through itemization of demons
upgrading guns at untouchable, yes because some of the status effects can be useful
it's not like P5 vanilla where guns are actually useless compared to gun skills
Brutal difficulty was a nice surprise. Going into it with my superboss stomping Persona set-up and getting clobbered by a random Pyro Jack during the tutorial fight was an experience.
She is kind, protective, nurturing, and patient. She is aware of how frequently she relies on others, and makes sure to try and help them in return. She can be ruthless and aggressive if need be, but it is always in service to her friends.
Burger tycoon princess hates the corpo life and just wants to retire somewhere nice with a garden that fuels a small cafe like daddy used to before being suckered into the corpo life.
trophy wife groomed to never say no to her husband to be despite how desperately she wants to. Fully ready to give out her body and her company to a man she hated for the rest of her life without attempting to do anything to prevent it or fight back in any meaningful way despite how easy it would have been unless a third party makes an intervention.
I really don't understand why Haru's social link is not part of the main story, and it's funny to imagine that anyone who doesn't complete it ends up with a Bad End Haru that spends her rest of her life on her knees pleasing a man she hates as he takes advantage of her and all her money because she never bothered to ask if she could say no
Playing P5R right now and I can't fricking stand how dumb the Phantom Thieves are. Like, literally fricking moronic, constantly make obvious mistakes everyone can see miles away and get one upped every step of the way. Worst thing is you as the leader have no say in the decision making whatsoever.
First thing I'd do is kick literal fricking subhuman moron Ryuji out.
Why does strikers feel completely off for some reason?

its hard to explain, but something felt off with resource management and consumables
not surprised they gave up on calendar
really, the best self defense lesson is carrying around a weapon(pepper spray, knife, gun, whatever) that you both know how to use and are WILLING to use.
Last two are incredibly important, carrying a weapon around with you like that is incredibly dangerous if you don't know how to use it or aren't willing to. At best you're a potential danger to yourself, at worst you're easily disarmed and now you're assailant has the weapon and is in an even better position than he was before.
>really, the best self defense lesson is carrying around a weapon(pepper spray, knife, gun, whatever) that you both know how to use and are WILLING to use.
Best self defense is awareness and never getting in to a fight
How did P5 manage to shit itself so hard after the first dungeon? You go from >Abusive teacher affecting the entire party and their school, abusing and sexually harassing students
to >Scam artist that at least was directly involved with Yusuke
to >Mob guy that has literally nothing to do with Makoto or her past
Makoto is just way hotter as a bawd, vanilla shii highlights her boring parts while being a prostitute brings her attractive aesthetics to the forefront.
>SMTV demons can have ear rape sounds for their voices >P5 personas just talk normally
Persona 5 is arguably the better game, but there's aspects of SMT I wish Persona had.
>Kawakami
The doctor? Yeah you're probably right, I kept on waiting for hee shop to sell gamebreaking accessories or healing items and it never happens
Obviously the reporter has the worst social link/confidant skills but who are 2nd and 3rd just behind her?
Iwai's comes pretty late and gun customization is useful but not anything game-changing
Sojiro's coffee/curry is pretty good for early SP, but it costs a time slot and you can also just get SP Adhesives from Takemi or cheat with the DLC accessories at around the same time. Being able to pay Kawakami to make it for you makes it really useful, but it's hard to justify on its own.
I mean Haru gets you full SP heals and Charge/Concentrate items in Royal, isn't it just a better version of Sojiro's perks?
I figure all party members get a pass anyway, even if their unique benefits aren't anything special you still want to max them for the generic battle perks, right?
My biggest issue with Haru is she joins so late that I pretty much have a solid team figured out so I don't usually have anywhere to really slot her in outside of like the one time she's forced into the party during the cognitive douchebag fight.
Really, Haru coming in so late is basically the entire problem with her. She's extraneous for combat and she contributes basically nothing to the plot outside of the few scenes after her dad dies. And I usually have a waifu picked out by then, though I'll probably at least try to do a run with her at some point. Not anytime soon, but sometime.
Honestly it feels like most of the party member could be done away with after their introductory dungeon. Only a couple of them have any established role or function within the group, and most of them don't have any pressing reason to continue being phantom thieves outside of loyalty or gratitude. Haru wanting to avenge her father actually gives her a bigger stake in the continued plot than most characters but like you said she just comes in too late. Her motivation also gets thrown under the bus because Akechi is too pretty to suffer any lasting consequence.
Unless you’re a moron at resource management SP is never an issue after Madarame’s palace at the latest. Mementos can give SP items as random treasures, some shadows can drop them as well, and you should have unlocked the SP adhesive from Takemi. At no point in any one fight will you need a full SP restore for Joker because of Maruki’s skill, and for other party members it’s easy enough to conserve with baton pass and coffee Kawakami can make. The charge and concentrate items are nice to allow Joker to continue attacking, but you can also get those items from Mementos, and Haru’s confidant unlocks those at rank 1 so you don’t need to go any further to get enough to last for the rest of the game.
same as in mementos
you have to overlevel the enemy and then just dash-run into it

Mmm...I see...
I usually do my Palace as soon as possible, then frick off for two weeks after, so I'm usually about on par with my enemies. At best, they'll be 'blue' tier, which is weak, but not one-shot weak.
I think the reason people put stock in it is that the same person who mentioned it apparently leaked they were going to re release protable and put 3-5 on gamepass.
>tfw trying to find Will Seeds after you've already finished the Infiltration Route
Uh, yeah, I'm just gonna buy the thingamajig off Jose in Mementos. I'm tired of slogging around in this Palace.

Makoto is just way hotter as a bawd, vanilla shii highlights her boring parts while being a prostitute brings her attractive aesthetics to the forefront.
so this is what happens when you miss kaneshiro’s deadline
>SMTV demons can have ear rape sounds for their voices
>P5 personas just talk normally
Persona 5 is arguably the better game, but there's aspects of SMT I wish Persona had.
That's because P5 personas are not "real" demons.
Obviously the reporter has the worst social link/confidant skills but who are 2nd and 3rd just behind her?
Kawakami
Mishima
>Kawakami
The doctor? Yeah you're probably right, I kept on waiting for hee shop to sell gamebreaking accessories or healing items and it never happens
What's mishimas buffs again?
No she's the teacher
Mishima just gives you bonus XP but his rank 1 lets your backups get xp though
Anon sp adhesives are super useful.
>free time/free EXP is bad
you're insane
Iwai's comes pretty late and gun customization is useful but not anything game-changing
Sojiro's coffee/curry is pretty good for early SP, but it costs a time slot and you can also just get SP Adhesives from Takemi or cheat with the DLC accessories at around the same time. Being able to pay Kawakami to make it for you makes it really useful, but it's hard to justify on its own.
haru veggies are pretty garbage
no way
kawakami skils save crazy amount of time
mishimas exp boost is great too
I mean Haru gets you full SP heals and Charge/Concentrate items in Royal, isn't it just a better version of Sojiro's perks?
I figure all party members get a pass anyway, even if their unique benefits aren't anything special you still want to max them for the generic battle perks, right?
Except Haru is also useless in battle.
Haru, always Haru.

>Tfw just crusin through Mementos violently running over Shadows
dabbing your way thru the palace is pretty fun too
Since they added using the grapple for long range ambushes, I feel in those brief seconds of flying over that I'm playing some Spider-Man stealth RPG.
just to make sure, you know that instakills work in palaces too, right?
its crazy how many people dont know it
Wait, how the frick? I've never insta-killed in a Palace before, just Mementos.
How do you do that?
You run up on a homie and dab through his ass
same as in mementos
you have to overlevel the enemy and then just dash-run into it
Mmm...I see...
I usually do my Palace as soon as possible, then frick off for two weeks after, so I'm usually about on par with my enemies. At best, they'll be 'blue' tier, which is weak, but not one-shot weak.
Reminder that P3PC is dropping in 5 days and is likely gonna flop. Buy it for the memes.
And there's that rumor of a remake happening that wouldn't include the answer or female protagonist.
>Choose between FES additions, FeMC route, or better graphics
Yes, just what we fricking need. Another schism.
I think the reason people put stock in it is that the same person who mentioned it apparently leaked they were going to re release protable and put 3-5 on gamepass.
>female protag
Nope, hope it flops so Atlus knows never to make that mistake again.
Best fricking song in the game
>tfw trying to find Will Seeds after you've already finished the Infiltration Route
Uh, yeah, I'm just gonna buy the thingamajig off Jose in Mementos. I'm tired of slogging around in this Palace.
