Ultimately that doesn't matter, the end goal is for everything to be cloud streaming so you won't be able to download all the files anyway unless there's a huge leak. Piracy will be dead in 15 to 20 years and it will be a forceful change. But Linux should run old emulators and games at least.

The entire point of OP's post is to point that Microsoft now has a way to flip a switch and remove your access to whatever non-microsoft approved software you have on your PC because of the chip on your CPU interfacing directly with the OS for DRM purposes.

Irrelevant even if it became true. Denuvo is already bad enough DRM and guess what, it doesn't impact me at all. Game has Denuvo? I ignore it. Gets cracked by the troony? I still ignore it. Gets cracked by non-troony? I might put it on my backlog. And that's the magic word: BACKLOG

Every day new non DRM games release and I still have the ones from yesterday, last week, a month ago, half a year ago, last year, 3 years ago. And a lot of games from even 3 decades ago. All of them can be played without DRM on a proper OS. Old consoles still work. Emulation exists. Who the frick needs new genderlocked games? Most of them are bad anyway especially the ones with Denuvo or launcher DRM. No loss for me.
