Disney worlds are either great or shit and the finale is awful with reused bosses, no expolrable scala/keyblade graveyard and is a constant stream of duo bosses who have gimped movesets due to being paired up with a final boss that doesn't even have a fricking Yoko track on the FRICKING FINALE.
Kh3 is honestly middle of the road but so many decisions could have been made to easily fix that

Also why the frick didn't they have the dlc implemented into the main game as in the other final mix versions

    >took too long to finally release
    >completely cuts out all FF characters which was part of the series appeal and why it even exists at all
    >STILL doesn't completely wrap the main story despite having years of prequels, side-stories and filler

It was laughably easy. If you’re in it for the story (lol) there basically isn’t any until the final few hours of the game

A few of the reasons :
1.- Development hell, Square had problems with development cycles science the PS3 until just recently.
2.- Out of touch Disney executives, asking for things like "only Sora, Donald, and Goofy can interact with disney characters". Preventing good ideas from being developed.
3.- Out of touch Square executives. For example: thinking that the final fantasy element was only beloved because a FF crossover was very rare in 2001, but now was no longer necessary, when in reality is an integral part of KH. Other example, in the frozen trailer they showed evil Aqua, and expected that the inclusion of frozen would be the most relevant reveal, instead of everyone focusing in evil aqua, like was obvious.
4.- Nomura growing out of touch with the story he had been building. He set up the main conflict of KH3 in DDD, but 7 years latter, he had completely lost interest in the whole 13 darkness vs 7 lights.
5.- Nomura more focused in setting up a new ark about the MoM and the Foretellers rather than making a compelling story in this one.

      >2.- Out of touch Disney executives, asking for things like "only Sora, Donald, and Goofy can interact with disney characters". Preventing good ideas from being developed.
But more characters beside those three interacted with other Disney characters in every main KH game.

Yeah. I'm refering to the disney worlds character.
Riku didn't interact even if he did in KH1 and KH2. Maleficent, who was in many of them didn't talk to anyone.
Only the organization did some interaction, as antagonist.
But that mandate was mention as explanation on why they made all the summons spirits instead of classic regular ones.

-Floaty gameplay with no sense of strategy like in 1/2 since all you can do is mindlessly nuke the screeen in multiple ways

-Majority of Disney worlds are absolute crap, reeked of corporate executive meddling and overall a fricking drag.

-No Disney villain fights except for Davy Jones, just generic giant Heartless shit.

-No FF characters outside of ReMind.

    -No Coliseum or Sephiroth battle.

-Cutscenes are boring as frick with characters standing around like lifeless zombies expositing obvious story points.

-Every KH character is extremely bland and has the personality of cardboard except Sora who got flanderized into a spastic airheaded teenchild.

    -Kairi is diet Sakura.

I won’t even touch on the plot as that’s a whole new ass level.

I honestly can't even remember any of his scenes and would have forgotten he was in the game if I didn't see him in your picture. Frick KH3. Decades of build up for ZERO payoff.

As a kingdom hearts fan since day 1, I fail to understand the hate. What the frick were you all expecting? My expectations were met, and I’ve moved on. Wasent the greatest game ever, but it was satisfying.

I was expecting improved combat, didn't get that for sure. By KH standards it's a pretty mediocre experience.

Did you not play the Aqua side game 0.2: A Fragmentary Passage? It came out o a long time before KH3. It’s was pretty apparent the gameplay would be similar.

      Refined combat?
      Series staples?
      a satisfying conclusion?

It was a mediocre game on release that was more interested in setting up a sequel than properly wrapping up a nearly 20 year old saga. It became an ok game with the dlc

More time spent with Aqua, Ventus, Roxas, Xion, Kairi, Riku, and Axel. They literally show up at the last 15 minutes and that's almost it. You get short nothing scenes with Kairi and Axel, and team up with Riku for like a half second to save Aqua.
It's all a bunch of fricking nothing. Why build up all these characters if they're gonna show up for 2% of the game that's supposed be the culmination of this massive arc?
They should have popped up all throughout the game on various worlds to help Sora with different Disney villians.
Just like how FF characters were integrated into Olympus Colosseum in literally every game previous, these OC KH characters should have been all over KH3.
      Nomura's a fricking hack.

It's objectively bad by every metric. By KH standards its the worst and by general gaming standards its one of the worst.

  19. 2 years ago

    it wasn't
    it was good
just not nearly as good as it should've been
the reason for that is that there were too many side games that introduced too many characters and concepts which made the plot a complete mess not only to follow but also to write. in addition nomura was juggling many projects at once so he wasn't nearly as invested as he would've been if he was allowed to just focus on KH3. they also had to scrap the game and start over which meant less time to develop it. KH is also much bigger now than it has ever been so the different Disney studios are more strict with what's allowed. nomura is still to blame though, he doesn't learn and just makes the shit more and more confusing introducing more characters so now we're starting a new arc except the arc started like 5 years ago already and there already like 20 characters and other bullshit. he's autistic and the devs make a game for 3 year olds then try to sprinkle in some stuff for older people

Disney fricked KH3 in its ass. They were all over that game unlike the older ones. That's why there were no FF characters.
    >Disney worlds just followed the plot of the movies but most of them were so cut down that it if you didn't know the movie you'd have zero idea what was going on, like with Frozen and Pirates
    >reaction times replaced with the slower, less unique form changes. This makes all the enemies feel the same because there's strategies with them.
    >gummi ship looks cool initially, but it's actually completely broken. Building shit doesn't matter because you quickly get prebuilts that cheat and go over the build limit, which begs the question why they even made that build limit in the first place. The big open world is padding and the actual missions are just copypasted infinite waves of enemies while you spin in a circle. Gone are the handcrafted levels and additional missions that introduce more shit to those levels.
    >entire plot is in the last 3 hours of the game
    >lots of stupid shit throughout like Maleficent and Pete introduced to do literally nothing. Roxas, Namine and Xion suddenly "needing" to come back made no sense and was basically a fan service retcon since it contradicts what happened to the rest of the Organization.
    >Ventus's whole story is still locked to that stupid gacha
    >everyone going full moron in the final battles just so they can pad it out. Every badass in the series is standing in front of one bad guy and they somehow lose. Completely ridiculous and took me out of the whole moment. BBS is how you do that "hopeless" final battle correctly.
    >remind is just watching 90% of the same cutscenes and Critical sucks compared to KH3 because the cool moves are locked to post game, MP is nerfed to dirt and you're weak as frick both health and damage wise
    >new bad guys look gay as frick and you can't take them seriously. The unicorn guy for example.
Remind's data battles were good at least. Best moment in base game was Terra returning.

For me it’s the voice acting. Did they fire their voice director or something? Even people that used to be good like Gallagher and McCartney were fricking shit in this game.
