I dont give a shit about how much of its actual "cutscenes". 99% of the fucking "play" time is holding forwards and listening to shit, or clicking X in the menu to listen to shit, or holding forwards to click X on some fucking object so you can hold backwards and press X on the thing it obviously fucking belongs in so you get to hold forwards again towards the next audiolog where a character says NIGHTINGALE...NIGHTINGALES HEART...THE DARK PLACE...ITS AN OCEAN...DID I WRITE THIS ALREADY? Another turdie loses his mind over Remedy kino. Sad.
Maybe but it has a lot of 'interactive' exposition scene, where you fiddle with things a bit while someone is talking or you wait looking at an echo or you look at videos of Alice or you arrange your board in the mind room.
>going against Ganker is contrarianism
the majority of people aren't joyless homosexuals and actually like the game anon, Ganker is the contrarian in this situation

This was the coolest shit I've ever seen in a video game and I hate musicals.
Easily the best game of the year, one of my favorites of all time. I haven't enjoyed a game this much in years. I didn't really get Control but I loved AW1 at the time, never replayed it but I'm going to soon.
>Easily the best game of the year, one of my favorites of all time.
I like the game. But I've only played through all of Saga's sections. The one Alan section I played was really nice so I expect the game to get kino in his parts.
My guess based on my playthroughs of Control And Alan Wake 2 is this:
Control to me was a game of unbelievable potential, that I ended up calling an 8.5.
After playing Saga's sections I came to the conclusion that I'd call hers an 8.5
But that doesn't make sense to me, because in my opinion Saga's gunplay and encounters are 10 TIMES better than Control's they're simple much more tightly designed even if imperfect.
So I've reduced Control to an 8/10 until something later in the game changes in my mind, which I REALLY don't see happening. But I can DEFINITELY see it with Alan's sections.
My guess is that Alan's sections will be a 9.5/10 based on my first impressions. The shadow enemies are REALLY well designed, and the descriptions of some of the later levels you meet them in sounds like survival horror PEAK. Not just kino, but legit best survival horror ever.
If I do the calculations and put those two ratings together, it should be a 9/10.
Honestly. I don't want to talk anymore because Ganker doesn't deserve good discussion, but the combat is like 2 or 3 tweaks away from being better than RE2Remake and maybe even possibly RE4/Remake for me.
I just hope the rest of the Alan sections don't disappoint, because somebody said there's no more puzzles after the very first Alan part, but I also remember that somebody said BG3 has good puzzles to be contrarian against Alan Wake 2 and recently learned that was a fucking lie, so Ganker is really fucking stupid.
I cant tell if this is some le epic attentionwhore troll at this stage, or if this was written by chatgpt. If neither is the case, hopefully you get killed soon
There's this one asshole who always posts in these threads. It's the Alan Wake schizoposter. He's primarily known for his bizarre narcissistic rants where he's always wrongly invoking logical fallacies, saying he's the only person capable of reason, and always ending his posts lamenting how shit Ganker is but he has nowhere else to go. This is only one of his shticks though, he has about 3 different shitpost routines he uses every time he wanders into a thread
I know who it is, I was mainly questioning the fact that it cant be real anymore at this stage especially since the retarded autist apparently hasnt even completed the pile of shit he spends every second desperately defending on his least favorite forum on the internet

Its the phantom of 'modern' marketing who lurks in the shadows of AW threads. Some say he's from the darkest corners of India, while others think hes dwelling in the basements of Sweet Babie Inc. Most likely we'll never know his origin, but if you put your ears close enough to the screen, you can hear his never ending autistic screeching.
The legend says, if you stand in front of the mirror and say "AWII sucks" three times, he pops up behind you and registers to Epic Games in your name...
In the talkshow sudio in the Dark Place, Alan witnesses a campy show/sort of mockery of his journey and struggles. But it's also uplifting in some views.

>some white people account for all white people
I hate it when people like you think your posts matter at all. And yes, by that same account, I get that not all black people are accusing everyone else of not dumping half a pound of Lawry's onto everything, but you get my point.
I'm surprised it got so many nominations, especially the goty one
I thought it was soulful and decent but not on par with other games. I thought lies of P would sneak in instead
I mean only by using myself as an example, I've tried out a couple of games by pirating them first. Games that I've been interested in but unable to pirate due to DRM, I've largely chosen to ignore. I also bought Slay the Princess recently simply because the devs urged people to pirate it rather than watch youtubers play it.
Sure, here's a 300 page government-funded study on it.
https://cdn.netzpolitik.org/wp-upload/2017/09/displacement_study.pdf >For games, the estimated effect of illegal online transactions on sales is positive because only free games are more likely displaced by online copyright infringements than not. The overall estimate is 24 extra legal transactions (including free games) for every 100 online copyright infringements. >The positive effect of illegal downloads and streams on the sales of games may be explained by players getting hooked and then paying to play the game with extra bonuses or at extra levels.
That is such an extreme extrapolation. Right there it says it only helps sales with "free games" which the study describes as shit like flash games or gacha and thus there is no "sale" to be affected. That study does not say "piracy doesn't affect game sales." Here's the closest thing it says >people have a highest willing to pay amount >a proportion of people with that budget, will not under any circumstances go above it >if they can't pirate, they just ignore the game
This is like what happens with Denovo. Game is uncracked, game is full price which is too much for NEET, they don't play the game. That's all the study says. In fact, the study doesn't talk about normal games, AT ALL. It only talks about shit like miniclip and OnLive. It's not talking about normal games, AT ALL.
And it also says it has significantly negative impact for films, though I don't give a fuck about movies.
>He doesn't know
It's better that you don't. >But I do
No, you really do not. I mean, you'll probably come across it eventually if you like Yakuza/Like a Dragon in any fashion.
>mfw when I realize that half the reason conversations about this game are so shit is because even the people that like the game barely understand it, and just liked all the flashy unexpected set pieces.
this game will never have good indepth discussion.
It's because it's pretty much impossible to form a consensus agreement of what happens in the story. Depending on the perspective you take you can have wildly different interpretations, unlike the first game where there was room for variation, but you could get consensus agreement on the basic story beats
It's not even just that. Just the statements about the gameplay and level design too are so fucking shallow. It's literally either "The gameplay is shit and mediocre lmao!" or "Wow, I liked this level cuz spoopy"
It's like nobody's actually saying ANYTHING at all about the actual game. Everyone is just communicating their retarded arbitrary perception of it. So nothing can actually be talked about. This is the case with the story too to some degree, but I'd argue it happens a lot less than gameplay.
There's A LOT to talk about regarding this game. ALOT regarding both story AND GAMEPLAY. Just the general way in which things fit together and what type of experiences they give rise too. So much more interesting things could be said. But 90% of the times its "WOW! this cool musical moment was kino!" or "Moviegame! lmaoooo! I'm not a reductive retard with zero self awareness!"
It's weird because somehow both of them feel like shitposts. Like they're both trying to anger the other side by giving such shallow opinions on the game. Both feel superficial, both feel worthless...
But *sigh* I've been on this shit board long enough to know that I'm the only one (not literally) that cares about these kind of little nuances. I'm so tired of this place man. I wish so desperately that I could just find some place to leave to, because I really hate wasting my time in here writing lengthy posts just to get the most disingenuous garbage responses.
And to prove simultaneously how predictable and not predictable this place is. Inb4 somebody responds with a mindless "genuine" response of "you should try reddit" because they're too retarded to realize how my type of criticism applies to places like reddit too.
have you not seen the views on Alan Wake 2 videos??? this game was never going to be broad appealing, no matter how much Ganker calls it a triple A Sony moviegame exactly like TLOU because Ganker isn't smart enough to ever see beyond the surface level.
if there's going to be no meaningful difference between the reception to what I say here and on YouTube, especially when my criticism is about general perception of the game and will therefore need to reach a general amount of people to mean anything...then theres no point at all. especially when I'm in school
There's autists that make essays on games that have been only seen once in the toilet stall of a japanese arcade. You know why? Because they genuinely enjoy talking about that shit. If what you want is validation for your cool opinions then what the fuck are you even doing on Ganker lmao
>Ganker isn't smart enough to ever see beyond the surface level
I agree, you are definitely too intelligent for a low level scum of a board like this. You should hang out with heavy hitters at reddit,

>absolutely awareness void >doesn't even realize it even when it's been spelled out prior for him
lmao...it's almost pathetic. I'm talking to actual animals here.
I've yet to play the game because I'm still finishing up the first game but I'm with you, Remedy always delivers great games that Ganker does nothing but shitpost about.
>*sigh*
Well first off you should have a nice day immediately
Second off, you haven't tried to start a discussion. You're shitposting in the exact same way you're lamenting about in your post, just in another direction.
>Second off, you haven't tried to start a discussion.
>ALOT regarding both story AND GAMEPLAY >AND GAMEPLAY
Lol yeah okay. Please tell the class how the gun-play and puzzle solving is anything beyond serviceable.
>Lol yeah okay. Please tell the class how the gun-play and puzzle solving is anything beyond serviceable.
you know. these posts mirror eachother very clearly.
they highlight the conceit that underpins Ganker. The fact that both of these statements are made at all, after EVERYTHING I said, shows SUCH a lack of how do I say this...such a lack of critical thinking and keen awareness that it's almost depressing how predictable they are, and how correct I am. no matter how much, a statement is made, a truth is pointed to, or a reality is highlighted. people, especially people on here, simply cannot escape a predictable character of shallowness and thoughtlessness. A desire to "be right" to "get an own" to "dub wrong" rather than to actually be true.
I am wasting my time. But I will waste my time in my own way, since whatever I could say. I already know to be largely meaningless because there are more stupid people than not. And this board isn't a gathering place for the nots.
I wonder if you can realize the flaw of your responses if I just give and highlight one word:
[presumptive].
and then I wonder If you can figure out, what it would take for me to elaborate on anything I initially said about the depth of discussion that could be had, if I just give and highlight one more word:
>ALOT regarding both story AND GAMEPLAY >AND GAMEPLAY
Lol yeah okay. Please tell the class how the gun-play and puzzle solving is anything beyond serviceable.
>this game will never have good in depth discussion
On the contrary, the longer people will spend with the game the more will be uncovered about its complexity. AW was already more complex than the average game alternatively and that's saying something because on the surface it didn't seem like it.
This part is a great filter for people who are miserable.
There's a shitton of little clues sprinkled around the game for autists to find. I've been watching replays of the game and keep seeing shit i missed on my playthrough. Game is obviously heavily setup for DLC's though.
That's what I thought too, and the conversation is similar but there are some differences. The fact that the story loops with subtle changes gives me the impression that both conversations technically happened.
It's not really random. It's part of Mr. Door's agenda. And it's also satirizing Alan's life, successes, and failures. It also tries calling him out for being a bit of a hack writer.
I dont even go in alan wake threads hardly and I saw him making a thread asking about why doomposters doompost and make disingenuous webms
Then I went in a thread asking if the combat was good and he wrote a huge wall of text sarcastically saying it was bad
Some anons are just so distinct you can learn to recognize them in only a couple posts
Nobody actually played this game. There are threads for this game every day but people always post the same exact screenshots taken on the same machine. Could it be a good game? Possibly, but nobody will ever know because no human being has played it.
Nope, tried it, it was tedious and boring, with the kind of writing that likes to huff its own farts. The environment looked good though, but its just feels wasted for this story.
Here's a new one (taken in hdr, compressed down to a shitty 8-bit jpg so it probably looks fucked). I thought the black chick would suck but she's alright and having her with Casey is great. Her levels are also a nice change of pace after dealing with Alan's levels. I preferred Alan's but it was a nice break when they did happen.
when is this? is it at the end of the game? I just got to the end game cauldron lake of Saga's part so I'm guessing it is cuz I haven't seen it yet. Your thing about her levels being a "nice change of pace" has made me regretted doing all her levels first now because I DO remember Alan's levels feeling very tense and exhausting.
>>if Ganker hates it, that means it's probably good
/v/'s opinion is literally worthless because they hate every single game, good or bad. I don't think there's any board on Ganker that hates their namesake so much, even Ganker actually talks about movies.
>male protagonist gets shit on to elevate the New Super For Real Heroine >entire musical number about how she's the Champion of Light >Alan's attempts to fight the darkness are ultimately pointless so he has to write a sheboon in to do it
It's cringe of the highest order. Same shit they do with modern movie properties. Don't know why people are defending it.
musical number about how she's the Champion of Light
Are you retarded?
You do realize the musical number is entirely about Alan Wake, right? It's a recap of his story.
This game is the best example of less is more than I can think of. It didn't need to be any more than AW1 was, just running through the woods shooting dudes with the occasional set piece. Everything they added to AW2 that strays from those is unbearably fucking tedious, the mind place, the writers board, the open world checkmark shit, the puzzles, whoever thought they were necessary should be shot.
The puzzles are actually an improvement over the light stashes from AW1 IMO but they feel kind of pointless at the same time. >don't need the extra supplies because enemies are pretty sparse on the main path and will never test the limits of your resource management >going off the main path to find puzzles and supplies is the only way you encounter decent numbers of enemies to use the extra supplies on
It's kinda pointless really.
I did them all and the lighthouse was bugged for me, it never dropped the key. I got the achievement for doing it and everything, I guess it's a known bug too lmao.
Yeah that bug is known, also there's one for the inventory upgrade you get from the stash not working too for some people. Can't believe the number of bugs in this game. They're patching them out bit by bit but at launch it was a real mess.
It's buggy but it's not that bad, probably should have delayed it but it's mostly minor technical stuff. The memory leak thing on PC was the only other one I had but I guess nvidia fixed that today in the latest driver.
Nah it really is that bad. At launch the game-breaking bugs were in the double figures, now there are only a few but it's like 3 weeks since release, it's embarrassing to even have any game breakers at this point.
I had a breaking bug at the start of the game that caused the whole world to disappear when I exited the mind place after a certain point, softlocking me. Had to restart from the beginning to fix it, kind of dampened the experience.
Aside from that, there was Alex Casey's walk animations getting messed up and wolf pathfinding being broken, and one of the swimmer enemies going permanently immobile while "submerged".
The problem is that they BARELY tried to expand the light mechanics.
Like all we got was Alan getting a lightbulb ability. What a waste. You'd think with an improved engine and hardware, they'd be able leverage more interesting light vs dark based setpieces or puzzles.
anybody have a pic of the electric amps cult stash puzzle? I didn't like Saga's sections as much and I hate collectibles/optional shit in games generally so I didn't bother to go exploring anymore after the nursing home
nothing changes for alan between the end of alan wake 1 and the end of alan wake2.
you can remove the whole of alan wake 2 and not know something happened.
the character alan wake doesnt actually do anything important or solve anything by himself. its saga or alice that just puppet him to pay the man tax again.
this game was obviously there to dump alan as the real protagonist and prop up super special black woman instead.
for fucks sake, alan is a professional, successful writer and he couldnt write himself out of a shoebox but super special black woman say 2 words and everything works.
there will be posters like this that will exist en masse and spiel dogshit constantly across dozens of threads but anons will get mad for one anon calling them out as contributing to or enabling dogshit like this due to these threads having no standard of discussion or no genuine people eagerly discussing the game in depth to filter out the retards.
I already realized what it was. What was really going on. It's actually fairly clever. But at the same time doesn't deserve much credit when I'm the only one fighting for a standard.
Basically what's happened, is that the butthurt "muh feelings" shitposters have collectively gotten together to obsess over and single out a single poster to shift the focus away from the shitposters and dumb all their retarded adhoms on because Ganker is a shallow place that only thinks in narratives, and the narrative of "autist, schizo, types like reddit" is stronger than shitposters ruining threads because it's a place that exists just to be contrarian and everyone else that occupies the board doesn't care about it enough either to do anything.
Not to mention the amount of poison in the well that needs to be filtered.
I'll simply keep pointing it out until I feel satisfied, because all the responses I'll get will continue to be predictably shallow. If the threads are going to be shit regardless, and people genuinely so mentally ill that they're are deliberately looking out for a random single poster to talk about like highscool girls while calling that poster mentally ill names...doesn't ring as ironic to them. Then I have no reason to back down and be scared. Just until I get bored. I'm right and that's all that matters *yawn*
>I already realized what it was. What was really going on. It's actually fairly clever. But at the same time doesn't deserve much credit when I'm the only one fighting for a standard.
He's roleplaying as Alan now.
Sweet Baby's influence ruined any chance this game's narrative had at being good.
Remedy's failure/refusal to get a fallback rendering system and relying on mesh shader hacks serves to indicate how incompetent they are as developers, which is a fucking shame because Max Payne 1&2 are great and Control is a great time as well.
SHOW ME THE CHAMPION OF LIGHT
AND I'LL SHOW YOU THE HERALD OF DARKNESS

nah no need I already know you didnt play it anon lmao imagine having jaded fucks on Ganker make an opinion for you
fucking embarassin
Go have a nice day retarded drone. The actual "play" time in there is roughly 10 minutes btw
why lie ? the game has even less cutscenes than Control, which already had barely any
I dont give a shit about how much of its actual "cutscenes". Gameplay? It has about as much gameplay as a gotcha game. You buy it, it shows flashing lights, and then it asks for more money.
i gotchu senpai
Do they pay you to reply 2 hours late or are you underperforming
Are blurry people supposed to be a frightening enemy?
Those blurry fuckers scared me more times than any enemy in the RE series with the possible exception of regenerators.

Feels so good to not know what that is
Is that max Payne on the left
Alex Casey. A New York detective who's in a book series that Alan created, his family died and he has bad luck with women... so yeah Max Payne.
I can’t tell if this is real people or an actual cgi cutscene
what is the context in game for this goofy dance that keeps getting posted
In the talkshow sudio in the Dark Place, Alan witnesses a campy show/sort of mockery of his journey and struggles. But it's also uplifting in some views.
thanks
do you recommend?
Ganker hates it which means it's ludo kino of the highest order.
In general, yes. But Alan's parts are the best.
Game is kino, cry about it chud

Ugly Art = Ugly Game = Do not Play
It would be fun if it turned into a rhythm minigame instead of just being a movie clip.
Musical was fun, but putting a short movie inside the game, now that's some KINO

I thought it was soulful and decent but not on par with other games. I thought lies of P would sneak in instead
this is videogames board, take your badly written b-movie back to Ganker
Disregard because nagger bullshit.
I see nothing but a vast landscape full of future doctors and programmers :^)
Nigerian immigrants are actually more likely to be doctors and programmers than the native population
While I get your argument, I also want you to think about the selectivity of actual legal immigrants and why that is.
Not all legal immigrants are likely to go into high paying professions. There is a difference depending on their country of origin.
According to Sam, he had to push really hard this scene because producers wanted to cut it, they didn't find it reasonable.
>Piracy does not effect game sales negatively
I hear this a lot and I kinda agree but...
Can you prove it Ganker?
I mean only by using myself as an example, I've tried out a couple of games by pirating them first. Games that I've been interested in but unable to pirate due to DRM, I've largely chosen to ignore. I also bought Slay the Princess recently simply because the devs urged people to pirate it rather than watch youtubers play it.
Sure, here's a 300 page government-funded study on it.
https://cdn.netzpolitik.org/wp-upload/2017/09/displacement_study.pdf
>For games, the estimated effect of illegal online transactions on sales is positive because only free games are more likely displaced by online copyright infringements than not.
That study does not say "piracy doesn't affect game sales." Here's the closest thing it says
>people have a highest willing to pay amount
>a proportion of people with that budget, will not under any circumstances go above it
>if they can't pirate, they just ignore the game
This is like what happens with Denovo. Game is uncracked, game is full price which is too much for NEET, they don't play the game. That's all the study says. In fact, the study doesn't talk about normal games, AT ALL. It only talks about shit like miniclip and OnLive. It's not talking about normal games, AT ALL.
And it also says it has significantly negative impact for films, though I don't give a fuck about movies.
I promise I weigh less than you.
>he thinks I eat the sneed oils
Dumbshit changposter
Was the song the influence of the real band after they entered the dark place at the end of the game? Remember that time is irrelevant in this game.
idk man I'd have to really be a fucking homosexual loser to play this game
>he says while posting aislop
I had to put that shit on mute. How do they expect me to solve those puzzles w/ heavy metal blasting in my ears
You have an American worldview. Trust a braindead racist not to have any self awareness.
That's the entire fucking point, you dumb cunt.
>American
>racist
If they were racist they wouldn't tolerate your monkey antics dumb nagger.
They show more benevolence to you apes than you deserve.
The actors for Alan and Mr Door haver better singing voices than Yong.
yong?
>He doesn't know
It's better that you don't.
>But I do
No, you really do not. I mean, you'll probably come across it eventually if you like Yakuza/Like a Dragon in any fashion.
it's fucking kino tho
Cringe
Fucking embarassing
Dancing is cringe normie shit
favorite part of the game?
Mine's probably Alan in the hotel
>mfw when I realize that half the reason conversations about this game are so shit is because even the people that like the game barely understand it, and just liked all the flashy unexpected set pieces.
this game will never have good indepth discussion.
>mfw
>doesn't post hfw
Burn in hell.
Just make a video essay already, jesus christ
>Just make a video essay already
have you not seen the views on Alan Wake 2 videos??? this game was never going to be broad appealing, no matter how much Ganker calls it a triple A Sony moviegame exactly like TLOU because Ganker isn't smart enough to ever see beyond the surface level.
if there's going to be no meaningful difference between the reception to what I say here and on YouTube, especially when my criticism is about general perception of the game and will therefore need to reach a general amount of people to mean anything...then theres no point at all. especially when I'm in school
You should hang out with heavy hitters at reddit,
>absolutely awareness void
>doesn't even realize it even when it's been spelled out prior for him
lmao...it's almost pathetic. I'm talking to actual animals here.
>Ganker isn't smart enough
>anon still makes rudimentary mistakes with contractions
I've yet to play the game because I'm still finishing up the first game but I'm with you, Remedy always delivers great games that Ganker does nothing but shitpost about.
The Alan Wake schizo posts again
>*sigh*
Well first off you should have a nice day immediately
Second off, you haven't tried to start a discussion. You're shitposting in the exact same way you're lamenting about in your post, just in another direction.
Stop engaging with this schizo, he enters every thread about AW to shit it up with his schizo rants about how the board isn't good enough for him.
>Second off, you haven't tried to start a discussion.
[inquisitive].
good luck. in the meantime, adieu.
>ALOT regarding both story AND GAMEPLAY
>AND GAMEPLAY
Lol yeah okay. Please tell the class how the gun-play and puzzle solving is anything beyond serviceable.
>*sigh*
have a nice day, autist.
*grabs you by the throat*
BACK THE FUCK OFF?!!?
>this game will never have good in depth discussion
On the contrary, the longer people will spend with the game the more will be uncovered about its complexity. AW was already more complex than the average game alternatively and that's saying something because on the surface it didn't seem like it.
This part is a great filter for people who are miserable.
There's a shitton of little clues sprinkled around the game for autists to find. I've been watching replays of the game and keep seeing shit i missed on my playthrough. Game is obviously heavily setup for DLC's though.
Somebody explain the context of this. I didn't like the first AW so will probably never play 2.
10/10 soundtrack, almost all of the chapter songs were bangers too.
Just like AW1. Every single song in that game is a banger.
I listened this song on repeat today
Alan Wake was my gateway drug for poets of the fall
I KEEP YOU WITH ME THROUGH THE DARKEST NIGHT
have a nice day schizo
aw2 is a movie albeit
So was this from an earlier loop, before AW2 starts?
Isn't this the same scene that we see Jesse in the TV? They hadn't made the new models yet obviously
That's what I thought too, and the conversation is similar but there are some differences. The fact that the story loops with subtle changes gives me the impression that both conversations technically happened.
man they must have had so much fun making this game
man i wish lance hadn't died, he would've loved doing this shit
>kino of the highest order
If you're into Bollywood, AWII is definitely right down your alley.
Bollywood shit has done more interesting stuff with film than the vast majority of Hollywood for around 30-40 years.
Depends on who you are I guess. But they are definitely almost indistinguishable from each other at this point in time...
Godammit every time I think Sam Lake has had an original idea somebody always links to a piece of media he's straight ripped it from
You thought Sam Lake invented musicals?
You think all musicals have to look like that?
Look like what? Fags dancing and singing? Yeah
>HBO invested choreographed dance sequences
Anon, I...
yeah lol it's really obvious, he also admits to watching normie shit so there's no way he didn't rip it off
KINO
Alan Woke Go Broke
they've been nominated for game of the year
OMG IS THAT LE HECKIN' RANDOM MUSICAL NUMBER???? KINO11!!!!!!!!
It's not really random. It's part of Mr. Door's agenda. And it's also satirizing Alan's life, successes, and failures. It also tries calling him out for being a bit of a hack writer.
It woulda been better if he was just shittalking him the whole time and the audience was laughing at him, making it actually seem fucked
Well, Alan did sell a lot of books, even if his writing was canonically very average. But the song still subtly takes jabs at him here and there.
I genuinely don't understand the hype around this game. All people post is lyrics to that song and it isn't even very good.
Its babby first quirky game
it's a really good game made with care and passion
The sensitivity-commissars infused it with passion for sure.
Show him the Champion of Light? He'll show you the Herald of Darkness.
The song is good but Ashtray Maze is way better.
Can't believe people jerked off this scene so mich when I finally played it.
A bollywood dance? Man this outsourcing shit has gone too far.
>this autistic aw2 schizo
>even if I like the game he'll still write walls of text at me for NOT liking it correctly
I feel sorry for Alan Wake fags having this resident tard ruin every thread.
Lmao this guy is actually insane. I don't know where the fuck he came from because I never saw this schizo in any other AW thread before.
If this is OC then it's fucking great, well meme'd anon!
>makes another fucking mistake
You're really showing me how smart you are, anon.
I preferred Alan's but it was a nice break when they did happen.
>probably looks fucked
Yeha, it does. Thanks for taking the time anyways.
when is this? is it at the end of the game? I just got to the end game cauldron lake of Saga's part so I'm guessing it is cuz I haven't seen it yet. Your thing about her levels being a "nice change of pace" has made me regretted doing all her levels first now because I DO remember Alan's levels feeling very tense and exhausting.
It's near the end but it doesn't spoil anything.
can we go W I D E R ?
Is that frickin morbius
>if Ganker hates it, that means it's probably good
Took me a while to accept that 99% of you guys are retarded, I thought it was like 50%.
>if Ganker hates it, that means it's probably good
this has never ever actually been the case even a single time
>>if Ganker hates it, that means it's probably good
/v/'s opinion is literally worthless because they hate every single game, good or bad. I don't think there's any board on Ganker that hates their namesake so much, even Ganker actually talks about movies.
>male protagonist gets shit on to elevate the New Super For Real Heroine
>entire musical number about how she's the Champion of Light
>Alan's attempts to fight the darkness are ultimately pointless so he has to write a sheboon in to do it
It's cringe of the highest order. Same shit they do with modern movie properties. Don't know why people are defending it.
t. loved the original
musical number about how she's the Champion of Light
Are you retarded?
You do realize the musical number is entirely about Alan Wake, right? It's a recap of his story.
Anon, I was high for 70% of my playthrough, the musical wasn't about Saga.
She's not in this scene at all.
Alan is intended to be the Champion of the Light and it's a recap of his life's story.
>Saga gets nominated for the game awards instead of Alan
Tells you everything you need to know really
Journos at this slop up because of the sheboon
This game is the best example of less is more than I can think of. It didn't need to be any more than AW1 was, just running through the woods shooting dudes with the occasional set piece. Everything they added to AW2 that strays from those is unbearably fucking tedious, the mind place, the writers board, the open world checkmark shit, the puzzles, whoever thought they were necessary should be shot.
>Cue the mostly chat-gpt generated wall of text about Ganker being dumb, and how the mind place is the best thing since sliced bread.
The puzzles are actually an improvement over the light stashes from AW1 IMO but they feel kind of pointless at the same time.
>don't need the extra supplies because enemies are pretty sparse on the main path and will never test the limits of your resource management
>going off the main path to find puzzles and supplies is the only way you encounter decent numbers of enemies to use the extra supplies on
It's kinda pointless really.
Hopefully they really experiment with the dlc.
anybody have a pic of the electric amps cult stash puzzle? I didn't like Saga's sections as much and I hate collectibles/optional shit in games generally so I didn't bother to go exploring anymore after the nursing home
The Koskela Brothers need a spinoff game or something.
I was impressed by the facial animation of the one on the left, he's very lifelike. Huge improvement since Control
A Bright Falls Tycoon would be goofy as fuck but I'd play it.
>live action cutscenes
it's not 2013 anymore
highly disagree.
nothing changes for alan between the end of alan wake 1 and the end of alan wake2.
you can remove the whole of alan wake 2 and not know something happened.
the character alan wake doesnt actually do anything important or solve anything by himself. its saga or alice that just puppet him to pay the man tax again.
this game was obviously there to dump alan as the real protagonist and prop up super special black woman instead.
for fucks sake, alan is a professional, successful writer and he couldnt write himself out of a shoebox but super special black woman say 2 words and everything works.
there will be posters like this that will exist en masse and spiel dogshit constantly across dozens of threads but anons will get mad for one anon calling them out as contributing to or enabling dogshit like this due to these threads having no standard of discussion or no genuine people eagerly discussing the game in depth to filter out the retards.
>*yawn*
>I already realized what it was. What was really going on. It's actually fairly clever. But at the same time doesn't deserve much credit when I'm the only one fighting for a standard.
He's roleplaying as Alan now.
100% didn't read. You're gay and retarded.
Is this a game or a movie? I don't think I've seen any gameplay from this shit
Same energy
How many Words of Power are there total on Alan's side of the story? I found 29.
Also is one of the rhymes supposed to give a lighthouse key?
>Words of Power
Wrong game dude, that's Skyrim
Anything else leak for the DLC
>for the DLC
when is it anyway?
Yes
Sweet Baby's influence ruined any chance this game's narrative had at being good.
Remedy's failure/refusal to get a fallback rendering system and relying on mesh shader hacks serves to indicate how incompetent they are as developers, which is a fucking shame because Max Payne 1&2 are great and Control is a great time as well.
