How often should I be using elevators in post-game? Don't want to accidentally fuck myself over.

literally take every elevator and skip every encounter with the spoon item or w/e
you dont even have to fight enemies anymore, just pick shit up off the ground
you will still beat the final boss in 4 turns or less
post-game is the biggest fucking waste of time known to man
your final team will look like this without even trying
When do they become japanese?
when you touch yourself in the settings menu
>he has a male moron in a not-moron position
>total level: 1000+
How much time will it take to transfer 10+ times?
if you're focusing on it you can probably cap within an hour or less
Some see it as the post game, some see it as a third act. For me its the 3rd act personally.
as much as you want
I'd do a flip for Gartan.
There is no problem getting all the way to the bottom then farming the lower levels. The XP and pacts you get are great and really should be used for the last boss.
We are getting another izumi game right? This is the only nis series still worth anything.
Fingers crossed anon. I need to see Eury and Nachi again.
I feel if he has 1 more game he could really hit his stride and become a popular niche creator like SUDA51 or Yoko Taro.
I hope so, it's pretty much the only NIS games I like these days. I really want a happy ending if he's gonna make another game though... Please, no more witch suffering.
But anon without the witch suffering there'd be nothing there to endear us to the witch. The suffering builds character, which leads to triumphant come backs and other great things.
but that can't happen if they all die in the process
>Please, more witch suffering.
if nothing else, the man's committed.
>That dong shadow
lmao. Galleria sadly lacks in enemies encrusted with literal shit.
This is what the puppets see when you're fighting.
sauce on this? seems like it got created as a result of the ritualposting
drawfags doing gods work
Galleria bombed in Japan so unlikely. How are sales in the West? I'm pretty sure NIS are focusing on the West like crazy with all the porting and relying on NISA, so if this did well on Steam then maybe there's a chance.
All nis games do terrible in Japan for example hk2 sold a little over 2000 copies. It all depends on us Americans and euros to make the sales. We really need some popular YouTuber to make a shitty 4 hour long video essay on this series so people will actually play it.
The only way Galleria and Refrain will blow up is some popular reviewers like Mandalore or Seth suddenly drop a review on both game. And even if that happens the gameplay is so niche I doubt people will stick with the game till the very end.
The only reviewer in youtube who touched this game skipped almost all of the story and hasn't even finished arc 1 by the time he decided to make the review.
we need someone to only review the Narthex and Apse phase without mentioning the apartments to trick people into buying this
So every reviewer?
I haven't been looking so I dunno, but if that's already the case then fuck
Seeing how half finished the game is with its random floors and lack of dungeon and enemies diversity, it's not that surprising. The story and characters are still good, but they really should put some more work in their games.
I hope so. At the very least Metallia/Nachi/Dronya will be in Disgaea 7 as DLC characters, right?
I didn't even realize that the sound of wings flapping was supposed to be Nachiroux. I'd like to see more of her as a cute bird girl rather than an emo one as at the end.
You literally cannot fuck yourself over by using elevators. It's best to get to the end as fast as possible, that way you can start farming the best gear in the game from chests there. Since you're gonna need a lot of it to outfit all your attackers in your party.
imagine having tits this fat and a face this smug and spending all of your time masturbating in your bedroom
did a bit more of the Q&A. hopefully the other anon is an early bird
also I'm not too familiar with the worldbuilding and only guessed that maybe 魔道魔女=dark witch, so that part might be off
oops, not 魔道魔女 but 外道魔女
This is only the second game in the franchise? Could have sworn there was more
Theres 4 including wthk2 but only 3 really good ones made by the original creator like drakengard; hundred knight, refrain , and galleria.
Is Galleria's skill system the same as Refrain's?
As in, am I gonna need to transfer the same character between a bunch of different classes to get the build I want?
yeah and you even start hitting the level cap way sooner into the game
Essentially. The system is different in that you have access to ALL the skill from your previous facets, but you can only select so many at a time as you have a point limit for them. It adds some flexibility as starting at level 1 you can have that puppet as a supporter and pick all the support skills, then pick all the Vanguard/Rearguard/Attacker skills once it is strong enough to be on the frontlines.
>The system is different in that you have access to ALL the skill from your previous facets
You mean I can swap them around whenever I want? That's a relief, I'm stuck trying to decide the last skill to replace on my Theatrical Star in Refrain so she's kinda just sidelined because I can't really test things out as easily.
Yeah. It adds some real flexibility. Later in the game there is one bullshit boss that is immune to stun, so I happily turned my stun skills off and opted for other things.
oh fuck is that what refrain was like? guess I'm not going back to it
yeah and now imagine you level different characters with the same facet but different skills you want to inherit so you have to read through the skills you already have to not make a mistake.
no comfy leveling.
its really a good thing to name them
tank#1 tank#2 and so on.
Yeah, you can carry over up to 8 skills when doing soul transfers, and when you go over the limit when learning new ones you get an option to "forget" like in Pokemon, and Innate skills can only be transferred at lvl 99.
But if you should still give it a try imo, it's a really good story.
Btw if anyone here ever made the perverted charmer meme build, which of these skills should I replace with Fancy Footwork?
Heroic Stance, just meld equipment instead.
I actually made it pretty far (I think) into it before to some dungeon that looks like a deserted town in the dusk
I think I ended quitting because I reached the level cap and had to transfer my facets into other random crap and I didn't want to deal with being at level 1 with a new party I gave no shit about
>deserted town in the dusk
Tanis? That's around the end but not the true ending.
And yeah, having to turn your characters into something else is the worst part of transferring.
I've no idea to be honest, but I assume it does. And I don't even know if Slippery's AVD buff is applied before or after the pact's buff, or how much Heresy's damage buff is.
There's not much info about these things online.
I think I'll either do this or remove Cursed Chime.
Does it stack or conflict with "Actor's Tenacity"? I'd probably drop "Cursed Chime" if it stacks and TenacityFootwork if it doesn't.
Still very early into the game, is it just me or does Eureka has an impressive dump truck of an ass
isn't she just leaning forward?
just you honestly
She's already had many takers.
The whole villagefelt the same way.
Having played refrain and knowing how thing go in those games, I feel like I'm being spoiled something pretty major. I'll leave while I still can..
Up until you actually beat the game, every black spoiler bar is a trap, do not hover.
they didnt spoil you on anything but yeah get the fuck out of the thread because the game has absolutely insane plot twists
not very dumpy
>The skirt outlining her crotch
what are shorts like those called
a hundred, maybe more
Maybe not a dump truck but she does seem to have a pretty good top to hip ratio for someone of her structure.
>bird bitch fucked me up, had like two people left up
>beat discordance on the first try
idk i feel like i came unprepared then somehow made it out. im worried about the final boss
>beat discordance on the first try
You must have used a guide.
it's unironically not that hard to unga with a proper setup
there's 2 types of good brigades (or jrpg parties in general, not just on crawlers) you either have so much single target damage that the enemy shits and pisses everywhere from seeing you, or you do so much AOE that they don't even have time to regret their miserable existence
both shitstomp the clouds
There's no possible way someone is struggling with Cecilia and then brute forcing discordance without using the right coven and mysterious erosion weapons.
by the birds i meant the wiccard random encounters to grind
There's no way someone just happens to be using a coven that requires bad luck to even use and has a bunch of donum skills that have been useless up to this point in the game without using a guide, especially when you go directly from the Cecilia fight into discordance.
>look at my deluxe edition artbook while downloading the game
>get spoilered the shit out of me with the big 90h-in turbo twist
>ignoring the first fucking page that warns you about spoilers
I thought i was turbo smart for intentionally skipping the text to be unspoilerable.
You know .. what could go wrong if you only watch at some pretty pictures?
your English tip for the day, ESL-kun
I know burger kun. Watch or look at. That shit happens when you do 3 things at the same time.
She is well rounded
Who was the blonde boy in this scene? Eureka's brother?
No, he's just some dude who knew Nachi from when she was a kid and has a crush on Nachi. I felt like they wanted to do more with him than they had time to.
>I felt like they wanted to do more with him than they had time to.
I didn't get to that part yet but I saw some spoilers here that some dude who likes Nachi posseses Konyac and tries to save her? maybe its him? I saw that scene at the end of part 1 in which Konyac comes out of the attic looking for nachi.
Yeah. Konyac is effectively a different person in part 1 vs. part 2. It completely re-contextualizes scenes like pic related once you learn about it.
Yeah its a pretty wild difference. On the first act I thought Konyac was raping Kay and thats why she commited suicide
Wait, I don't think that is true, I think that Kay wanted to kill herself because she violently lost her baby.
Yes, that is what happened, but the way its presented in the first act, I thought it was both the miscarriage and being abused by Konyac
The abuse from Konyac was literally to keep her mind controlled so she wouldn't instantly kill herself. This was a request from his sister that if she lost control of Kay he should try to knock her out again.
Yes anon I'm aware, what I'm saying is that in the first act, without knowledge of Marc possessing Konyac, it just gives the implications that Konyac is a dipshit and is sexually assaulting Kay or whatever some weird farm dude does
Sadly you will never get the chance to kidnap a broken woman who recently miscarried and repeatedly rape her
What if they did the possession accidentally during sex?
>will never see their dumpies
where did that ai anon go?
Those chibis are pretty cute
Sex with "neutral" cat maids.
Throught the anus, but really, what does "Neutral" even mean?
Neither male or female. In the first game that actually mattered hence them not being able to join female or male only pacts. However the gossip pact for instance in Galleria has an exception to allow neutral puppets, so there might be less of a point.
Do they piss out of the anus?
Or do they throw up their piss?
Sounds like a cat thing but, eh I don't know. It's a weird concept.
char creation description says that due to complications they're closer to doll than human, so they have no sex
That makes sense, though I think the devs were going for the "Schrodinger's Trap" kinda thing, if voice 1 is anything to go by.
With their cat cloaca
This game has a thing for cloacas
I still would. Just look at how fluffy she is.
how many spoons do I need for the final dungeon? also how does the trick work, don't the spoons just stop NEW enemies from spawning, so the floors still have enemies? is it to just to stop the asshole who chases you?
I used about 67 for the entirety. Silver spoons completely brick all spawns nothing will spawn not even the mimic walls betton and the abyss creature.
nice, i have 70 something just from playing through the game, hope thats enough.
imagine the sex
>homo fag has cats in the front row
Hey anons, does anyone know where you can farm mighty panties? They give some good resistances
I need a nameless flower for my last request memo and it looks like I can find one on the ground in Crimson Transept. Is there anything I should be doing to improve the odds, or should I just put on a podcast and start wandering aimlessly?
>or should I just put on a podcast and start wandering aimlessly?
Bring mana in to up the droprate. Sadly crimson transept doesn't have an easy farming spot. Those cassowary feathers took me a few trips.
"Up the droprate" as in enemies can drop them?
I meant for the collection spots. I don't think that enemies can drop that item.
Ah, I didn't know that's what the droprate stat was affecting. Anyway, finally found one. The reward for the request that follows it is QUITE INTERESTING
I still have no idea what the FUCK is going on with the narrative. But for now, I just want to unlock the last facets to start planning out and grinding my party.
why did real Eureka only have to touch the book to become high INT?
You guys use male puppets, right?
Yeah. I try to make sure that everyone has a unique portrait to tell them apart, so variety is key. I am sad that you can't unlock a fourth portrait for each facet in this game like in Refrain. At least the micro-kini Peer sprite is part of the standard line up this time.
why would I want stinky men in my harem
No, only girls and traps
One male puppet for Fantie possesion, rest females for his harem
What is the point of the clown personality? Does it do something special like what Weird does?
Anyone ever get equipment with your name on it that are absurdly, like 5x better than legendary equipment in the same area?
I got 2 in the mid game and never found anything more. Are they that rare?
I only had 1 throughout my 140 hour playthrough. I thought it was a fixed thing that I hadn't payed attention to.
I'm sad that outside of Nelli none of the witches wear big hats in this game. At least the later 'era' and things like Kitcat's effay flapper coat are neat.
Also, I thought that the upper 26 worlds were supposed to be stable. I get that Alluna/Alstella are an exception, but what about the rest? Were Tanis and the world in Witch & The Hundred Knight also part of the upper 26?
They already achieved maximum hat.
Unclear mostly. The upper worlds are mentioned in Refrain in the achievements, overall you can assume that the world of the world tree tribe was an upper region and its very likely someone there tried to seize the power of the denial and ended up destroying that region too, instead of it being a natural process
the upper worlds are where the suffering does not happen and witches are free
I assume a world becomes stable when the world ending entities can't touch it any more so its safe to assume Uru, Tanis, and Medea are safe but they aren't a part of those 26 necessarily. For example It's clear that Nachi's real mom runs a stable world with only puppets so its probably Luca running the remainder of tanis with puppets but nothing came to destroy it after velk died but I could be wrong because things still try to come and destroy the imperfect Uru and Nachi fights them off despite the discordance being sealed.
What is this image based on? Was there some mention of garlic in Act 2 that I'm forgetting?
I think I remember her eating raw garlic at the shop but I may be wrong
What's the best fantiebility?
Can't get over Geaux still living and having a better ending than Nachi. All the bad guys besides Ghilruda never got any punishment while Nachi and Eureka suffer...
yeah, about that...
AAIIIIIIIEE WHY DO THEY DO THIS
easing the cycle of suffering was the part of the recreation, it was the 'happy ending' they wished for. but, ultimately, without suffering, the world will only stagnate.
Since this thread exist: I'm somewhere midgame (quartier vita) i didn't grind and frankly didn't pay any attention to my characters past changing equipments every few hours. Now my first puppets are reaching 99. What's my best move as someone who just want to get to the end of the game with as little grinding as possible?
If you want to grind as little as possible you need to be stockpiling while going through the game as much as you can. Stockpile all the time. Also soul transfer your units into synergistic facets that give them good skills. Generally just swapping them into the other type of the facet they already are works.
This is my first NIS game and my first first-person dungeon crawler. I've just unlocked first additional wardrobe exits and pacts with more than 1 unit allowed. How do I team build with that in mind?
And how bad does the grind or difficulty get?
Just put synergistic units next to each other. If you want donum users, put them in the same coven since they stack stats and actions. Put tanks together since the entire coven will defend if you do that.
That simple, huh.
How far can I get without crunching numbers?
Pretty far. The trick is to not skip stuff like Apartment/Cartier and always stockpile once it's available. This'll ridiculously overlevel you for most things.
>And how bad does the grind or difficulty get?
The game is piss easy because Nightmare Mode is actually easy mode due to the extra mana and shitloads of stockpile EXP you get
If they ever release a sequel I'm looking into spoilers to see if the ending is more suffering. I won't buy it if it is.
If they ever release a sequel I'm looking into spoilers to see if the ending is more suffering. I will buy it only if it is.
Please someone give him a party hat and make them both smile.
Anons i beat the final(?) boss, i know that there's a post-game but i also know that it's a shit ton of floors, do I miss out on much if i just end it here?
If yes i'll just do it at a chill pace
(Also, to be honest, the fight wasn't as hard as i expected)
Refrain is pretty nice so far...
You miss out on a great ending.
I can't get over how goofy the trolls look in their design when I realized they have cutesy bear ears.
I like double checking the scenes in english after playing to make sure I don't miss anything, but this translation is awful...
All NIS translations are terrible.
that's not exclusive to NISA, it's standard for jrpg "localizations"
It's funny how there are random lines in both games that suddenly feel machine translated
I just wanted Dronya to be happy...
>That ending theme
>Then THAT other theme
These games are unforgettable. It's a shame so many on Ganker or outside Ganker don't discuss this much. At least Galleria threads lasted a month compared to Refrain, and we had plenty of newcomers wanting to try the series, which is always nice. It was nice talking to you anons, the Labyrinth games will always hold a special place in my heart and talking to you guys makes me feel that Ganker still has it's moments.
This part is what finally got me to the point of tears. They never really had anything more than brief moments to be friends together. I'd call Galleria my GOTY 2023 so far if it hadn't actually come out in 2020.
i pulled an all-nighter to finish this game, alone in my house during peak covid anxiety in early march 2021. i hadn't been working for 2 years at this point and unsure what i was doing with my life and here i had spent nearly 200 hours on this non-game post-game (i took about 2x longer because my japanese was shit at the time). i wanted nothing more than the game to just be over and to get closure that i felt had been denied to me for far too long.
but when the ending actually came i just fucking couldn't. i'm just pacing around my house with my psvita reading the final lines of the game as the sun starts to rise crying like a bitch.
it was worth it.
It's honestly not that bad. It's not like grinding to fight Baal is Disgaea. Just use spoons and keep hit every elevator which will skip hundred of floors at a time. At the bottom you can just farm equipment and the endgame soul pacts which should be plenty for fighting the post-game boss.
did 5 transfers like the guide said and my clarity is only between 77-80? do i really need 99 clarity for the final boss??
So Kay got pump and dumped by the reporter who only cared about getting the scoop to destroy the country right?
Yes. I think there was an implication that he was married with kids already too.
he also gaybaited goutman as well
more like jobber society
The choice of name was dumb given how relevant the Moon Society actually is in the game. The subtitle is 魔女ノ旅団/Witch Brigade in Japanese so it's obviously another silly translation choice.
The Moon Society is relevant from the very start though?
>tfw the most hype moments in the game are also title drops
Reminder localizers robbed you from THAT moment doubling as a kino title drop in both refrain and galleria.
Very kino moments.
he don't give a fuck
Fantie's fucking tired, he's the one that was doing all the work.
Angry/serious Eury is so cute
Imagine her angry expression after you cum inside her even though she asked you not to
>she did it with all the townsfolk, even with the kids and the adults
Who DIDN'T she fuck?
Dumb nacho, it's a bird, not a carp
>"Go forth my Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society!"
yea, the english translation felt a little forced at some parts
>he didn't get chills when Fantie asks "what are we some kind of Labyrinth of Galleria: Moonlight Society that offers dungeon-crawling adventures with new quality of life improvements and 50 hours of exploration alongside a cast of fully customizable companions to do your bidding?"
to be sure - some of the very final moments of the game are unforgettable, and i often think about what happened to all the characters along the way
but this is the line that resonated with me the most
Thankfully, my nihongo is good enough to pick up on a title drop when playing with JP voices and EN text.
I really should learn Japanese but honestly I'm too lazy. I'll forever be a dekinai NEET.
Honestly if you're a NEET you should start, it's not like you're doing anything else important with your time.
Don't worry, you weren't gonna learn anyway.
Best sword in the game is -scaling. 2nd best has functionally 0 attack and is left hand only. Third best sword is two handed. Is this a joke?
it's for the stats
if you didn't notice, the stats on it are pretty big, and even if you don't have dual wield skills, your offhand still gives you stats
worth nothing, it gives you the stats, but NOT the atk or def, because you aren't attacking or defending with it
Literally every equip at that point gives you stats out the ass.
Dealing with one of the pillar boss fights.
The one with the Wundaboo (Giant guy with flame breath.)
I'm seriously considering dropping the difficulty just for the fight, let me run through whats going on.
Wundaboo spawns. Wundaboo has a tell for its flame breath attack.
It's next action with be a flame breath that one shots my entire party of LV99 puppets.
Sometimes, it Inhales, and the turn ends. I'm able to haste priority a buffer to use a protect everyone from flame attack, we survive, and spend the next turn recovering the faint status with mugwort.
SOMETIMES, he activates the inhale AND the flamebreath, directly afterwards, in the same turn, with NO time in between.
The fire immunity spell is a power based spell that cannot simply be spammed for the duration of the fight.
Is there something i'm missing here?
i had a bunch of pillar fights where the pillar didn't even spawn the mob since i stunned the pillar and killed it
Were you on nightmare? I haven't used a guide or suggested teambuilding, and they take the burning aparments away from you at this point in the game, so i've lost my capacity to grind up a new team to attempt with.
being on nightmare actually fucks up the pillars because they end up casting something else before summoning their bodyguard, which makes it easier to just permastun them
>Is a complete retard.
>Blames the game instead of himself.
Every time lmfao.
I turned down the difficulty for those. I only keep nightmare on for grinding, and with bosses take things easier.
You can turn on tactical mode and see its actions.
Or you ca just unga bunga the pillar to death before the extra spawn.
Tactical mode tells you what they're doing in advance?
Yeah, it lists both their actions and yours. Your turn order change depending on your choice too. For example fortify coven gets a speed boost so when you click it the turn order is updated.
This is gonna be how I do it. Lets go you unbalanced kusoge
It just spammed the great f lame along side an AoE that kills everything but the tank coven, even if they're in vanguard.
I'm dropping the difficulty, it hurts, but this game is garbage mechanically.
I did it with the progress reward hammer and just unga bunga'd the pillar then unga bunga'd the dinosaur. Used the kitty pact to remove enrage.
On nightmare? What was your set up?
>get rekt first time
>second time i crit gore the pillar and he doesnt summon it
As soon as I lowered it down to normal the fight was over in 4 rounds with every melee landing a stun and taking out a quarter of the monsters HP.
I'm sure pre planned and grinded out teams could deal with it effortlessly, but at the end of the day, it was a monster that had a dice roll to end the fight instantly based on nothing, and no strategy other than zerg and luck works.
I've enjoyed the game, and I won't pretend a hiccup like this will ruin it for me, but pretending this game's combat is anything but big numbers is a joke.
I luckshitted both it and the final boss by skipping their hardest part and I don't regret either
>e-bois not enamored with potatochan's potatoes from the first game
You're right, I'm not going to make it. I don't care for potatoes.
Did you know that you can stack buffs?
It was 1 shotting a LV99 Peer Charrior holding a 2H shield with 3 command DEF boosts, under fortify, with a canterella ice wine.
What would I not be stacking to make that survive?
Congratulations you fell for the biggest meme in the game.
>Using Peer Charriot instead of Fortress as final facet
>Using a 2H shield instead of Katar
Come on anon, I didn't soul transfer my shit beyond only the requirements for the skills and I still did all pillars easily on Nightmare. The only thing that fucked me on Nightmare was the discordance and because I refused to use the special pact.
>he used the 2H shields
>kill wundaboo after he kills all my guys save for a wonder knight and some tanks
>only pillar left kill it in a turn
>explodes and kills everyone
I would've dropped it if it wasn't near the end
Where the hell do I find dusk myrrh?
For only $6 you can have a happy ending.
Is refrain more, less, or same levels of janky and unfinished as galleria?
Update: I dropped the difficulty down to normal. Every hit from a hammerbro stunned anything and the pillar died in three turns. The dinosaur shortly afterwards.
Don't be afraid to tweak the difficulty as needed, they didnt take the time to make sure shit worked, that was a soft lock situation as far as I could tell.
>that was a soft lock situation as far as I could tell.
you could have just grinded around galleria manor retard, they give comparable exp to cartiervita while being exponentially easier because no counter-robots or instant death fart jars
instead of counters they just straight up aoe magic you dead
how shit is your brigade that you can't shitstomp the birds?
super mid-facet-transitional shit
what about the suicide clouds?
I can kill them but they kill my shitty level 10 dolls first :~~*(
You don't have access to the manor before you complete the garden. I would need to go back to the level 60 vanilla apartment.
if you are struggling with the pillars you can just go back to the penis room on the apartments, yes
it doesn't even take 10 minutes to get a 1 million exp stockpile and the enemies are easy to kill by the point of the game you're at
You don't have access to the vita apartments until you complete the garden either.
Am I missing something? Or is this just "Should of read ahead and used a guide" type of shit.
can you go to the green apartments?
What do you mean softlock? My dude, first time I entered that area the pillar would die by pure unga in 3 or 4 turns.
Did you just ignore the soul transfer mechanic altogether or what?
What were your favorite songs, Anons?
Old-fashioned Lover Girl is the moment I alt tabbed and bought the game in no small part because of the contrast to what had just happened in Act 1.
Club Coven validated that decision.
Some of the later battle themes were pretty cool for very varying reasons.
The final final final boss's theme also had a nice 'hopeful' feeling to it
haha ;_;
>your ticket, bro???
>20 minutes later
>WTF PILLARS ARE OP HOW DO I GET EXP
If I've got a puppet with despair-level luck whose body keeps exploding, should I just destroy it and roll a new one? Is there anything I can salvage from it?
You may as well soul transfer it and it will have better luck. It's better than wasting that sweet soul clarity. If you are at the beginning of the game then you may as well reroll. Use Amaterasu as the name and the lucky number 98 to get fortune level luck.
Gotchi Coppelia, doesn't seem related to equipment, looks like self-destruct was indeed on, I'm at the point just after finding all 7 curios d'art.
what facet, what point in the game?
because first of all check their gear to see if they have anything tanking their luck to shit, gala in particular gets your luck to beyond despair levels
Are you using the "self-destruct" skill by any chance? I found that it auto destroyed my puppet's body when they died. Also there's a skill that increases your avoid if your luck is despair.
Does anyone have a download link for the OST for Refrain? Sittingonclouds has both Galleria and Hundred Knight's OST, but not Refrain's.
Anon, use Soulseek/Nicotine+. You're missing out big time.
me in the upper left
me in the bottom left
>fist game has barely any fanart
this series is too niche
The worst part about the story is how it insists it makes sense. I can't tell if its because the release forced them to omit a bunch, or if the localization just butchered the rationale of the plot into oblivion.
I'll spoil this, but this is my basic understanding;
First off, in typical japanese fashion, the plot has to lie to you directly to make certain things work, i.e., Eureka from the start isn't actually dead, even though her death was the only thing holding the discordance back, which is now ripping through the countryside regardless of her being alive. Yakuza does this a lot, see rubber bullets. Secondly, the idea is that Cecilia is trying to create her own world by tipping a stable one into oblivion, and succeeded, and Nachiroux and Eureka are the only living beings left from any of the multiverses, and exist in one of the unstable fragment ones. But because the main twin worlds are already completely dead, they have the capacity to fill the empty space so to speak, with a shitload of mana, and willpower, creating a new world in it's place that will be less unstable. Am I understanding this? Nachirox talking about "going into the world from her memories" is either her very misunderstood concept of whats going on, or the translation taking a complete and utter shit. Even though multiple people state that they're in a "fake world?"
The Eureka who died in the first act is the memory Eureka. She was never really dead due to the elixir and the discordance shit has no effect on her death. The Eureka that did actually die is the one in the real world, the one that hung herself after reading the book curio. Her death caused the real Alluna to be destroyed.
If we're really in the memories of the puppet clone of a witch woman with magical Alzheimer's, why is every main plot villian also in there with her instead of doing all of their shit literally anywhere else? In any of the other infinite versions of reality? This is worse than "It was all a dream" and i'm not even done playing yet.
>If we're really in the memories of the puppet clone of a witch woman with magical Alzheimer's,
it's eureka's memories through her diary and eureu since they're the same person.
>First off, in typical japanese fashion,
I'm not even going to read the rest of this racist drivel.
yea can confirm its not worth reading
there so much shit wrong with your understanding of the story. i'll pick one of them to help you out.
>regardless of her being alive
despair == death in regards to triggering the discordance. and thematically, it makes sense considering what eury is.
So the entire world and all the multiverses hinged on her never being truly sad, in ANY iteration of herself? Someone else even explained earlier that her death was meaningless, because it was the oracles death coinciding that made it happen. Except that doesnt make sense either, because the world they were currently in was a "fake" one. You know, the fake world, made by no one, that all of the real people that affect the only real consequences of the game all exist in, that nachiroux was sent to, while both of the twin worlds still existed. None of this makes any sense.
>the entire world
>all the multiverses
The discordance is more like how in fate universes get culled if they stray too far. It's not gonna destroy everything, just failed worlds
nope, just her world.
no such thing. it is as real as almoon/alstella.
just rewatch the cut scenes; you've missed so much that it'll be easier that way.
Calling the world fake isn't my terminology. Telling me to go back and watch cutscenes when I took a picture of the madame explaining expositionally and matter of factly to young memory nachi that t he world they were in was fake caught me off guard enough to do so. The fact that talking about this, and things like that not jumping to your mind makes me feel like you're the one that might need a refresher.
actually took a picture of this one, the translation is pretty correct.
imtiation doesn't mean fake. it was literally created the same way as Uru. the same with how ghilruda's clones are their own persons.
im not gonna help with your homework anymore.
>in typical Japanese fashion
You are going to out yourself in real life one day, and there will be nobody there to save you or approve of your actions. Don't let hatred into your heart.
How stupid are you to not understand that narrative devices develop and distribute based on genre and locale? And to equate that with racial hatred?
I unga bunga'd Discordance with aoe dual wield sword.
Everyone else was stacking atk buffs on her or aoe debuffing the clouds.
How the fuck does luck work? Do you just need to unequip all your equipment and/or skills when you soul transfer?
Can someone answer this? Even if you make an amaratesu99 doll the luck will change over time.
Meh, I stopped worrying about it and gave my unlucky puppets the avoid skill for despair luck and the others I transferred into aster once to get the luck skills.
Does anyone have the gigachad puppet guide? I just realized I have 2x 666 pacts
Is it ever explained why Eureka hangs herself after reading the book , and why the marguerite daisies were always in full bloom even in infertile soil? A simple yes or no will suffice.
I thought the journal is functionally a Curio. When a curio is created, the creator dies.
>why the marguerite daisies were always in full bloom even in infertile soil?
isn't this because part 1 is the dream/memory world of Eureka and that influenced the flowers being in bloom?
no she can will the flowers to bloom cause shes chock full of mana and her being an oracle helps with that
Idk if you cleared the entire game but, the Marguerite are blooming in winter because Eury subconsciously used her witch powers to keep them alive, this is why the soil doesn't matter, they're nurtured through her magic it's explained in one of the post-game flashbacks
Grand cathedral wasn't as bad as some people said.
it's mostly filtered EObabs that want a different tileset every floor but don't care about anything else
there's nothing to filter, it's just boring and mindless
What nature should I be using/avoiding for big dick damage?
if you're not sure weird is always safe for every class but mage.
literally me in the middle
most of the monsters i see posted in these threads look nothing like the rest of the game in style.
did they buy a big package of generic fantasy monster images or something? is that an industry in japan?
Imo the monster design is one of the strong points in the series. Screenshots don't really show it but they're also really well animated. Although I think 2 suffered a bit compared to 1 due to a lack of themes in the dungeons.
hmm it might just be the classic disgaea style is so striking that when i see those characters and the monsters on screen at the same time it looks like they're not from the same game imo.
I think its a great choice it really makes the monsters feel other worldly and dangerous.
If I have this right Nachi spent 3000 years defending a memory Alluna and then disintegrated after running out of power, and Eureka is stuck in that memory Alluna forever looking for the dead Nachi?
Is that it? The fate awaiting our heroes after 150 hours of pain?
>and Eureka is stuck in that memory Alluna forever looking for the dead Nachi?
she's in the new world they created together.
we don't know izumi said nachi was annihilated for spending all her power recreating the world but keu came back after getting ripped to shreds so its in a state of limbo she could be alive and she could be dead.
I mean the real Nachi died ages ago as an old bat and the real Alluna exploded but somehow they were able to all be brought back through memory powers with Eureka so who the fuck knows. It's certainly unsatisfying after all that though.
Life is shit and unfair and then you die, cope with it
No, I will be giving negative reviews and seething until he fixes it in a sequel.
And there's a hundred people (heh) that buy the games for the suffering.
It would be fine if that was the point of it, but it's not. You don't understand peoples issue with the ending and the misgivings over the game being rushed, and in a defensive reflex, you're just lashing out at people that disagree with you.
then explain what it is you're crying about
Are there any recs for the Refrain endgame? I kept seeing people complain about hitting a major wall at the final boss.
It's a shame the ending pissed the bed like it did, but I enjoyed the ride all the same. No wonder he apologized in that interview.
I just finished 3651F like a man
Fucking 2h hammer saved my ass
Storytelling is not bad after all
>the wife beater gets reborn as a famous artist
>the rapist murderer gets to live and gets away scot free
>the one who literally tried to bring apocalypse gets to live with a daughter
>the traitor murderer gets to be reborn
>the cannibal child killing queen gets reborn and gets away scot free
>meanwhile Nachiroux dies for good after eons of suffering
Defend this hack writer.
>the one who literally tried to bring apocalypse gets to live with a daughter
she fucking dies in the void between worlds
pericot also fucking dies though
They don't. The final ending scene with Nachiroux remaking the world has Pericot and presumably Cecilia meeting up with the reborn Bisto
sounds pretty based
Exact scene. Every villain gets a happy ending
Another domestic violence confirmed in near future
you would despise hundred knight. Nacho and Eury are very kind and very forgiving but they did take away pumpleton's fat horse cock.
Eureka is the town bicycle but Pumpleton never got far with Nachi. Nachi is literally a 130 year old virgin in her original body and a 3600 year old virgin in memory form
That just makes her character and sacrifice stronger though.
Didn't Eureka found Nachi and took her to the margarite field in Uru at the end? or I'm missing something?
That scene is left intentionally vague as to whether or not it's a dream or real. Apparently in the Q&A it's confirmed that Nachi vanishes after exhausting her power
it was an extended scene from when they went to eury's hometown(part of gartan's quest).
Izumi has a lot to answer for
Konyac is literally me
Pumpleton is literally me
Scarlet hates this game very much
Bloody Scarlet got robbed. She was supposed to be the second strongest witch in the Society and not only didn't get a sprite, but only appeared in a flashback that didn't even finish. Seriously how the fuck did the gout old man get a sprite.
cause he got the rizz
>he gets hair
>prince gets a cock
You really shouldn't expect happy endings in this series
Does Galleria do the skill system differently from Refrain?
because I don't like in Refrain having to shuffle around people just for 1-2 skills
Just got hit with credits for the first time
What does Refrain do better than Galleria? I'm thinking of dipping my toes in.
Bosses and enemy variety. Dungeon aesthetics and the self-contained stories of each dungeon was very nice.
Galleria has a better overarching story and I think better characters but the budget was really strained with most bosses just being beefier common mobs and the dungeons looking nearly the same with no mini story arcs in them.
Idk about that Geaux literally decapitates Nelli's kids and shows them off to her and swings Doris around by her pigtails until she dies.
The boss has a stun meter and it depletes, but it doesn't actually get stunned.
Luka is not for sex.
cute and funny
galleria part 1 > refrain > galleria part 2
pretty much what this anon said
refrain's dungeons start dipping in quality after the 3 towers but all those early ones are really great.
So why does Margaret call herself Eureka anyway?
Play the game.
Will the enemies ever become stun immune or should I keep facerolling everything with my stun+beating rush dps combo?
The final final boss is immune to stuns
Is it really? I remember stunning just fine
It's is, though the extra it brings out can be stunned.
Apparently the boss was stunnable in a previous patch but the devs decided to buff it in a patch to make it just ignore stuns completely.
>a previous patch
A version that was never on PC I think.
I did the boss a few nights ago and definitely remember stunning it, but it suddenly became stun immune sometime during phase 3
You sure you weren't hitting it with status effects and it lost turns with that?
>tfw no flat blue eyed blonde girl that will fuck you if you ask nicely
I'm at the point where my next objective is "Something's missing...", am I right in guessing I need to find the remaining curios?
Explain what you just did, the game's like 100 hours and I don't remember every objective's message.
Defeated the Marquis at the center of Chancel and watched the witch report/ending afterwards.
Can't remember which one, but try going to the last floor of Narthex or the last floor of Apse
do all requests to unlock the final request to get the screw back and then you should get the ability to save clear data and load it.
I believe I did that, should the objective have changed?
Guess I'm going to Narthex, thanks.
If you have all the curios d'art, you're fine. If you don't, do every requests, and I think you also need to go talk to someone at the bottom of Narthex.
>grand cathedral is just never ending apartments going through the old enemies
Does it get better or is this it?
It doesn't get any better. Use your spoons, get to the lower floors and pick up good gear.
Good thing I never used any.
The final boss and the cutscenes are fun, but sadly that's it. What is really lame is that they didn't even bother palette swapping the old enemies or having interesting fixed floors like the apartments. The new mechanics like UP and the FOEs barely show up either as you can find the stairs quicker than they can show up.
I like my frustration when it is hand crafted to fuck with you like the teleporter maze in Uru Manor and Cartier Vita's door adjacent pitfalls. Me falling into pits and running into teleporting FOEs and forgetting to take notes on the teleporter exists is at least on me rather than time being artificially padded.
The interview mentions him directly apologizing for the state of the final dungeon and story surrounding it. It was initially part of something much bigger that had to be rushed.
>galleria sold badly so any sequel will be even lower budget and rushed
>the budget cuts will continue until the sales improve
its so over
with even less budget, Labyrinth 3 will feature a fully randomly generated story...
all important characters won't have portraits, and their designs will only be featured in rough sketches on some obscure japanese website that gets shut down a week after release
I would mind NIS making an ascii roguelike to be quite honest.
NIS wouldn't be able to make a game as autistic as Caves of Qud though. That level of severe autism is not achievable.
NIS has money nowadays thanks to NISA, so I don't think it'll be as cheap budgeted. They shouldn't be fucking retarded and release it on dead consoles though. Playstation + Switch + PC should be standard from now on.
Witches and Marc they sure skipped a lot in 2nd run
What's some of the more efficent ways of grinding XP?
Right now i'm in the Ur manor and have to reincarnate a dozen puppets twice over before anyones useful.
Go to cartiervita, start stockpiling
bittern corner in galleria
Turn on nightmare mode
Galleria Manor 3, the stop to the top right in the middle of the map, farm the enemies there. Just use magic to blow them up. Set floor portals so you can respawn them by doing an area transition.
Once you've destroyed the pillars go to pic related and grind the bitterns that spawn there while stockpiling in Nightmare. Set a floor portal to teleport to the map transition point and come back to force enemies to respawn. You'll grind up to the mana limit easily.
The next Labyrinth game will have only one enemy. Recolors of it will be the bosses and remaining enemies in the games. All the dungeons will also be randomly generated with the same tiles.
>Labyrinth of Sea Saltia
th.. thanks izumi..
Sounds like an interesting story about a single witch going absolutely fucking schizo from isolation.
All voices will be done by Izumi himself, but he doesn't even try to make himself sound different for each role.
>Izumi talking to himself about how he fucked countless villager boys, men, and teachers
Labyrinth 3 will be a 1 million floor randomized dungeon with AI-written cutscenes every 5000 floors. All assets are recycled from refrain and galleria.
Can't wait to play it on my Dreamcast.
Labyrinth 3 will be not real because Izumi dies before he can make it
Good. Maybe the new writer will give us a happy ending.
A witch deserves all the suffering in the world. That's the law!
Good witches get good endings. Bad witches get locked in their own personal hell where they are the only living creature.
everytime I transfer soul I need to set skills again
thank you amazing dev
I guess it's because the skills change in costs if you choose a different facet, but they should have kept them if you transfer into the same facet. I was getting annoyed by that while going through Cartiervita too though. Every 2 fixed floors I needed to soul transfer shit and I used 27 puppets.
It only takes me 15 minutes to soul transfer and set skills for 48 puppets :^)
>not instantly forgetting what skills you take right after transferring and spending 30 minutes just reading skill descriptions
You're the one with the problem.
I had to make a spreadsheet for each group otherwise I'd forget skills too.
There's also a couple puppet builder around, that might help.
Yep, I'll probably stop reincarnating cats soon.
I'll be honest, there's really no reason to soul transfer your supporter puppets a lot. I did a lot of prep for the final boss and I ended up just not even needing to do so since I blew it up in like 6 turns on my second try. God bless donum defense formation and Flame Dance IV from Mysterious Pact since it's technically physical (Blunt/Flame).
I soul transferred them to get all the good supporter skills. The cat ones heal your coven every turn and there's ones that revive your puppets if they die, increase pursuit, etc.
Resuscitation + advanced jitterbug trivializing the game
>he got away with everything
Why didn't Nachi's real mother look for her?
might not know where she went since nachi went off course.
Nachi's real mom asked Mirage to sent a projection there to look after her so she knew
She did. In the very end with the conversation between her and Mirage it's clear that she had sent sent Mirage to look after her and had been keeping up with what went on.
Wtf? Her mom must be a powerful witch, right? Why didn't she help Nachi
trust the plan
it's implied that she 'puppeteered' this whole thing. mirage was there incase things went wrong(!) lol
She puppeteered her daughter dying of ash affliction after 100 something years and then the memory version of her ceasing to exist after using her power after 3600 years?
yes if she didn't want that to happen, she would have changed it
Nachi was just napping when her mother called her home when the credits roll, so she didnt get a chance to inform Eureka 🙂
Man, so much of Hundred Bitch is unvoiced. It even sometimes flip flops between voiced and unvoiced in one main story scene, it's wack.
Ayooo I just got to the Grand Cathedral after talking to Bocklin's Illusion.
Am I in a good point in the game where I can start farming Pinyarls?
How do I spawn them?
I want to get some abundant exp pacts to start grinding transfers.
Give me your strats plz thnx.
I think they just have a chance of showing up instead of reapers when you're overmana'd. I don't know if any location increases the chances of them though.
I accidently sold all my items again
a bunch of random loot is necessary for endgame requests, god help you
I intentionally turned all my loot into mana even the ones that weren't worth it
I think I'm gonna regret it later but I guess at least I finally got all the petitions over with for now...
I always kept one of each loot item knowing that requests could pop up. It didn't stop me from cashing out my artifacts and suffering when I needed to get sea salt and cassowary feathers.
going to really suck when the threads die out since ive already beaten the game, i pray we get a hundred knights pc port or another game by the same director
it was a fun ride with you guys.
I'm sure we'll get a hk port or izumi news soon in like a yearish. hk is the last game they can port besides d3 and dd2
its rare for me to find jrpgs or even a fucking dungeon crawler that i like, very surprised how well i liked refrain and galleria also i almost forgot see you in the etrain odysee threads soon
>t see you in the etrain odysee threads soon
they say these games are good im willing to give them a try
by normalfag standards maybe, but those standards are also complete shit
they are, ignore the chud in these threads that has some sort of feud with EOfags
refrain and galleria have really got me hooked, looking forward to binging EO soon
>she hasnt bathed in three thousand years
Is there a reason I can't see enemies in the apartments?
I had an inkling, thanks.
look at the name of the ability that let you see them
reminder that this girl exists to be raped and dismembered before being eaten by shit smeared trolls
Does increasing the Donum cost increase the damage or is it just there to balance the spells on the pact
>enter Uru manor for the first time
>even elites flee from my brigade
>fight one anyway and kill it in 3 turns
>get wiped by a nuke
Life is so easy
>fight and kill a reaper
>no afterdeath explosion
>fight and kill another reaper
is it just RNG
>wondering why my damage is shit
>forgot to reequip my skills after soul transfer
>virgin edge equipment auto unequipped due to low skill
>even the equipment is getting action
>forgetting about Broom-kun
baka my head
Only complete gayrons care so much about luck that they'll give every puppet Amaterasu/98. I completed the whole game without giving a shit about luck and the only time limb loss was insane was when I had 99 karma on nightmare. What's worse is that after your first Transfer luck level changes as well, so you're effectively locking yourself out of good covens with lucky number restrictions because you're too much of a bitch to lose a hand every other hour.
modern Ganker is dogshit at vidya
an embarrassing number of people jobbed to the onions
These onions? kek
yes, those onions
these guys kinda shit on you right at the beginning of chapter 2 with fresh puppets playing on nightmare
On my first trip to the apartments these fuckers gored the shit out of my cute puppets, wiping my team and losing me my stockpile. I was level 1 with no money and mana, I had to sell the bag so I could afford repairs.
>sold the bag
B-But I bought it back eventually
It's fine anon, you bought it again afterwards, right?
was all your shit on moon stance or something
Selling the bag? Never.
I don't think I had any issues with them on nightmare, cannon-cats absolutely murder everything up until f30 and by then your team catches up. Maybe I just got lucky idk.
the problem was people trying to stockpile AT LEVEL 1.
There wouldnt be any problem if you just kill them like normal and get some levels first.
I mean that's on you for stockpiling at level 1 with a brand new party with no items. Just fight a couple of fights normally without stockpile, get a few levels and HP/stats up so you don't get instantly killed and then start stockpiling.
It's different when you're dealing with soul transferred level 1 party since they have the stats and the gear already.
I'm stuck fighting Cecelia at Ur Mansion. My puppets are 2~3 reincarnations in and they die in one swoop. Should i grind more? If so were best spot at this point?
2 cannon cats with reinforce speed will keep her stunlocked for eternity.
If you haven't, complete all of Bocklin's requests.
Transfer Buff donam from other pact is always healps you a bit, also right side of galleria manor is great place for farming weapons
There no pact to transfer to. Only one that has one free slot is Witch Corp i think. I planing to dismantle Mysterious Pact to get out all it's donums but i have nowhere to transfer them.
I assume I transfered some def machinas into big family and fortune pact for ceci fight I forgot where I got them though
I have few slots on Big Family and that's it. Should swap tanks on other pact then i guess.
So many tranies
>tfw only saw maybe 2 out of 17 mira machinas during my 170 hours
Cheer worm erotic
I used 3 wall type for against Cecilia/Disco and top left for final boss
The couple times I used them they didn't seem worth wasting a coven's turn on
I think there were a lot of thoughts put into the Mira Machinas and the devs obviously wanted us to make use of them, the clown facets have some pretty neat skills for them aswell. Their mistake was making stun and stun exploit too powerful, and donum stacking too.
i literally only saw cheers
i don't even know how the fuck do you summon any other one
There is a happy ending waiting for you. You just gotta pay up.
Uurgh...Why is Metallia so lewd...I have to finish Galleria but Metallia nipples are swaying me to just start Hundred Knight already...
reminder that both these men have fucked metallia and one even impregnated a different version of her from another world
b-but she is a proud virgin...this can't be
sorry anon he unconsensually fucks her so hard her hair turns black. can't win against the totopeepee.
That sounds kinda hot ngl
>very first turn of very first encounter in a Cartiervita expedition
>some gay little robot instantly rips one of my guys' head off
Well? Are you enjoying yourself?
I completely forget Refrain Story theres some connection with Galleria?
yes but drpg
My primas tend to lose all of their limbs to them in a single AoE swipe
it wasn't a counter, little shit did some special move or something and just exploded her instantly
>use Seal to wall myself into a little house
>take a nap with Bivouac
we /minecraft/ now
Sadly I finished game before getting caught by UP while Bivouacing
Just got into the series because I wanted a long game. Is there a bestiary or something like it to keep track of what works on enemies and their stats? I'm still playing refrain.
Hey Ganker so I found out how I got stuck on one part for a week.
During the return to Alnoon there's a part were you basically go back in forth between the goey places in the places inbetween in Apase to regain the Curio De' Arts.cI haven't 100% tested it yet but DO NOT place a floor portal within one of them. If you do you'll be stuck at the part were you WILL NOT get the option to report to the witch when you hit the goey place in Narthex 7. I have no idea why, but the moment I took out the portal, hit the green exclamation again for the 10x time (telling me the exact thing basically) I finally got the witch report. No Idea why it does this, it's fucking weird and Im honestly pissed
well that's not what I was expecting
>huh that was easy
>nine angry clouds with the longest intro ever shows up and rapes your ass
I almost got wiped by Ceci just now...
This is where it ends I guess
get grinding on gold metal slimes, fantie
go grind the apartments on nightmare or get better gear.
Should I look for gear in Galleria Manor or Uru?
I guess it should be pretty similar
yeah pretty much. Gear is way more important in this game than levels near the end game.
>soul clarity 97
>all these items and no way to favorite them for quick access
cmon even pokemon has this
and the later disgaeas
>cathedral floor 1500
when do i start having fun
around floor 3651
Should i level up Mysterious Pact to max or there save level to dismember it?
Up to you, you can just meld it as soon as you get Flame Pact IV+. The other spells while strong are very situational
does the pacts that raise DP cost increase power or is it just to mess with you
the DP cost increase is basicly a way for the devs to say "You'll only be leveling this pact to meld them for spells" and no they dont increase your spell damage.
And the pacts that increase "ATK, DEF, HIT" etc
The "ATK" is just STR right? Not "all damage" including spells?
Yeah. But you can just stack donum master on your supports to massively increase spells damage for your donum coven.
