Is there an event going on right now? I was wondering if I should continue the main story or not but I'm unsure if the events on the tab in-game are those ''permanent'' ones you talk about or actually an ongoing.
Unironically Johanna was until a month ago when she finally got a skin. She was the only member of the 21 squad without a skin/rank upgrade or anything whatsoever. Right now units like Scathy, Spartoia, Hussar, Tiequan etc are pretty abandoned, even newer ones like Mercury or Brunhild are left behind in favor of doing even more stuff with Eternity.
I feel this game lost its presence. I came here because months back it had a lot of fanart and stuff like that. It reduced considerably.

Far as I know, new leadership appears as based Dong wanted to go do other things, someone new steps in (probably a majority shareholder or some other sleazy shit), new boss has no interest in the game and just wants to embezzle a quick buck and jump ship, goes for it, staff notices, staff protests and quits, boss is forced to quit by commitee, a founder or other senior employee takes over boss duties, things slowly heal to this day.
It's not a doomsday EoS scenario we're at yet. But it did open up SmartJoy up for acquisition, and we'll see how that blows over.

I usually just restart the game a couple times until it goes through.
The ring
The skins and the ring cost tuna normally. They aren't things that you normally get as rewards from events or monthly. So they should be top priority

Begin working on Research early, a lot of vital features and QoL is behind research milestones (Auto-Battle, robot production, special bioroid production, daily training for rare resources, etc,.)
If the early game hasn't changed much since year 1, use your resources sparingly and only field the units you need until you get enough of them to form exploration teams.
Speaking of exploration teams, send whatever units you don't have to handle exploration (magnifying glass icon in the lower left when in map select, not sure when it opens up). This will be a life saver for getting resources so you aren't stranded in base unable to deploy for an hour.
Soulball is one of the best artists SJ ever had, no one has ever been able to immitate his style. The new artists they hire are soulless. Just look at the new Charlotte skin. You should be maxing out your temp inventory eventually anyway so you're fine. If you run out of permanent inventory space, you can always just buy the battle pass and use the tuna it gives you.
Your goal is basically to get in a position where you can leave the game farming on its own all day erryday with minimum resource cost.
Start doing research immediately, your priorities are unlocking autobattle (duh), unlocking higher level daily training, and then anything that gives you extra resources or reduces resource consumption.
Early on spend your free tuna (premium currency) on permanent character & equip slots. Autobattle stops when you run out of space for your drops, so that's why those matter so much. Getting to like 300 of each is a good starting point, you'll likely need more but you can decide that on your own after you have a solid foundation.
Rolling the gacha is not cost efficient compared to farming, but rolling a bit is not gonna irreparably ruin your account, plus you actually need to do it to unlock some of the research. When you roll use the 690/690/230/230/230 formula as it gives you the widest pool of characters.
Useful early game characters: refer to https://lastorigin.fandom.com/wiki/Solo_Units. These aren't necessarily the strongest characters, but they enable cheap autobattle farming strats, which you need to get your hands on everything else. So keep an eye out for them.

That's mostly relevant for mass produced civilian models though. High end military hardware or all the super sekrit prototypes or the ones sent into fricking space or the bottom of the ocean dealt a lot less with humans. Incidentally those make up most of the pre-war biodroids you meet in the story.

I'm running 7-7 Alenxandra. It costs slightly less resources and gives slightly more exp, I think. The clear time is slower than Emily but it also has the benefit of farming affection.

Icons tell you what you're getting: unique VO, SD animations, and SD effects. And obviously a full scene instead of just a character model. There's an SD preview on the right.

Really dependent on ex-level anon. The most efficient ex farmer is 0 link Titania or Ramiel. The next best is Invicible Dragon+ Maria team. They are much less efficient but should be able to one shot most stages up until chapter 7. I honestly never see anyone farm with a 5link Eternity. She isn't built for farming
The same as Titania set up, 100% crit, as much Acc as you need to hit all enemies, the rest into Atk. Gear is probably Atk/crti chip, Anti OS depending on the stages, recon drone/crystal ball or whatever AP booster pack gear. She need to be in injured status for it to work though

I am pretty sure those stages can't be solo farmed. Chapter 7 usually need a 3 man team. Titania/Ramiel can only about er chapter 4ex and below and Event B stages. Ex stages are too strong for 1 man team

I mean, one major difference between the two versions is that, because JP is behind, EVERYTHING is translated. When a new event comes out in KR it's all in runes, so if you had not started the game because you wanted to know what was going on starting in KR won't help you.
Apparently, JP is also slightly cheaper/runs skin sales a bit more often, but because now Pigs is running both versions that may change.

What I'm afraid for the jap version is that one day they decide to censor a lot of content because it would no longer be in accordance with their "nudity" rules while, in my opinion, there is much less risk for Korean servers.

As far as I know, Korea is a bit stricter than that: I started playing JP back in the summer, and the last skins that were censored were in that batch. No other skin that came out in this 6-7 months was changed IIRC, and even the ones that were changed were really inconsistent in what was ok and what wasn't.
Also consider that as a few days ago the JP publisher (the Pigs that everyone is talking about ITT) bought out the developers of the game, so if you are worried about something it should be about that. On the other hand, now that the publisher and developer is the same company, if something is going to happen to one version it's going to happen to the other one too.

I don't see how I was doing it, it wasn't my intention at all. Now there are some parts of the community on Discord that like to start console war shit, but those are more on the KR side.
It got lost a bit in the talk about skins, but I mostly wanted to tell that anon to -really- consider if he wants to start a version that doesn't have up to date translations for events/story: I've been around these threads for a few months, and while some people had to no problems to just get on KR and play there (mostly because units get translated faster, IIRC Clover was translated after a few days), some others lamented a bit after starting that playing without being able to understand events was becoming a bit of a drag.
I feel like people focus a bit too much on what voices are available and pass over on the amount of translation present, something that I feel is more important.

I installed the last uncensored apk (2.4.0) but I'm stuck on the "HMD Connection in Progress". I tried to delete files and cache, uninstalled then reinstalled but I can't get rid of this issue.
I swear I managed to log in after the 2.4.0 patch but I'm stuck with this issue.
I found the culprit : changing the language system fixes the issue (thanks LO FAQ). But until this new update I didn't need to, don't know why it changed and it would be a bit bothersome to switch language each time I have to play LO.

What the hell is the drop chance on these unique equipments in Chapter 10? I got ID's, I got MoMo's, but I've been farming for Armand's for a week. I barely even get B-rank chips on this stage, what's up?
Went and did it anyway. And yeah, it feels like it could very well be like a 1-2% drop chance. I must have cleared that stage at least 600 times. Feels like the others took like 100 runs max though. But well, luckily I figured out a better team comp to speed things up today so the last 400 went mad fast and without breaks.

Update: 7-4B seems like a decent farming stage. Can be soloed quick by a Lilith, half the enemies spend their turns chucking sperm at her and then get instantly countered to death.
No other drops beyond materials so you can keep at it for hundreds of clears with no need to clear your bags in between.

It is a bit of a setback for sure. I'll just revert to doing what I did before any patches to get a clue of what was going on: switch over to Bluestacks and use screen translation.
Since it's just Part 1 of the event at the start, it'll all probably fit into Bluestacks' 100 daily free translations. Then if the translation seems busted, cross examine with OCR or something.

You're mixing things up a bit. The iron parasite Nest fights and beats the Star Child. Then commander attacks Nest the way you described, taking advantage of the fact it's worn out after its last fight. After you destroy it the Star Child looks to be waking up, so everyone fricks off real quick.
The ORCA crew hasn't fought the eldritch Black personmen yet and they didn't think they'd stand a chance.
PiG was too busy eating the KR servers to release new content, but events are resuming on KR, so there's hope that JP's getting the next one soon too.
Fingers crossed. It's been a pretty rough drought season for us all.
I don't understand why JP is hit when it is KR that is in shamble. Not to mention KR managed to push out new contents while JP can't even push out existing ones.

They still have to deal with bugs, testing and all that and we know NIP devs arent brightest in terms of coding and we dont know the size of the team working on it, also we dont know who are ones involved in the acquisition, it could be a couple of the higher ups doing the paperwork or maybe even the NIP devs are also involved in some sort of way so they can collaborate with KR devs.
But who knows all this is speculation.

I'd hold judgment until we get a look at how the new year starts. There is not a single dedicated forum or other site out there for any game or interest that isn't a haven of pessimism or pessimism momentarily being held back by coomerposting.
I like the surge of interest the JP server has brought even here, and there's been killer designs that have attracted lots of buzz around the game in two waves because of the double releases. Now we gotta see how the new ownership sticks the landing. I hope for more sick designs soon, I think there's a new secret unit still coming for the new KR event judging by the fact that BP was not actually the one who sent the distress signal, despite the signal being in her name.

How does the blind trope work with a bioroid? She could just get a new set of eyes and that would fix the issue. Unless she deliberately chooses to be blind because she enjoys it.
No clue if she enjoys it, or if it's something she feels like is a vital part of who she is, but Bismarck and Densetsu made her that way.
It seems to very much be a Daredevil level blindness though, where she can kind of echolocate (somewhat fitting for a vampire) and get a rough idea of things, 'cause she's still out there intercepting mid-air missiles and ready to man heavy artillery solo to buy her allies time.
If it's not just an act, she's only missing out on color, everything 2D, and fine features.
To add, she can also seemingly write (the world went to shit as she was on a global fan meeting tour writing autographs), and if whoever sent the signal under her name in the event intro is her or anything like her, operate pre-destruction computers and other secure line communication hardware and software.
So, frankly put, it seems like she's blind in name only.

What's the deal with the new JP event? It is fricking hard for no reason. The B stages don't drop anything and the Ex stages are filled with overtuned enemies. How am I supposed to deal with the Freezer shootahs in 1-2ex? They have like 20k base def.
All types of elemental damage bypass defense altogether, and fire happens to be the type enemies in that stage have no resistance to.
Also a bunch of them have passive skills that trigger or get cancelled specifically when hit with fire.

It's not listed on the wiki but 0-link Aeda can be used on 4-4Ex. I just copied the accuracy requirements for Titania and then max crit then rest into attack. Crit chip + Atk chip + Anti-Air OS + Enhanced Output Limit Release Device all +10. Alternate between Titania and Aeda when you have too much parts or power but nutrition has always been great since doing this for me.

This works. Although I prefer using Blackwyrm over Alpha since she provides -30% fire res down on all enemy types not just light/flying. Btw you don't need a full link alpha and ella for this strat to work but ramiel needs the full link with the bonus for skill effect.

Unironically Johanna was until a month ago when she finally got a skin. She was the only member of the 21 squad without a skin/rank upgrade or anything whatsoever. Far as I know, new leadership appears as based Dong wanted to go do other things, someone new steps in (probably a majority shareholder or some other sleazy shit), new boss has no interest in the game and just wants to embezzle a quick buck and jump ship, goes for it, staff notices, staff protests and quits, boss is forced to quit by commitee, a founder or other senior employee takes over boss duties, things slowly heal to this day.
It's not a doomsday EoS scenario we're at yet. But it did open up SmartJoy up for acquisition, and we'll see how that blows over.

Begin working on Research early, a lot of vital features and QoL is behind research milestones (Auto-Battle, robot production, special bioroid production, daily training for rare resources, etc,.)
If the early game hasn't changed much since year 1, use your resources sparingly and only field the units you need until you get enough of them to form exploration teams.
Speaking of exploration teams, send whatever units you don't have to handle exploration (magnifying glass icon in the lower left when in map select, not sure when it opens up). This will be a life saver for getting resources so you aren't stranded in base unable to deploy for an hour.

You should be maxing out your temp inventory eventually anyway so you're fine. If you run out of permanent inventory space, you can always just buy the battle pass and use the tuna it gives you.

Your goal is basically to get in a position where you can leave the game farming on its own all day erryday with minimum resource cost.
Start doing research immediately, your priorities are unlocking autobattle (duh), unlocking higher level daily training, and then anything that gives you extra resources or reduces resource consumption.
Early on spend your free tuna (premium currency) on permanent character & equip slots. Autobattle stops when you run out of space for your drops, so that's why those matter so much. Getting to like 300 of each is a good starting point, you'll likely need more but you can decide that on your own after you have a solid foundation.
Rolling the gacha is not cost efficient compared to farming, but rolling a bit is not gonna irreparably ruin your account, plus you actually need to do it to unlock some of the research. When you roll use the 690/690/230/230/230 formula as it gives you the widest pool of characters.
Useful early game characters: refer to https://lastorigin.fandom.com/wiki/Solo_Units. These aren't necessarily the strongest characters, but they enable cheap autobattle farming strats, which you need to get your hands on everything else. So keep an eye out for them.
Character leveling: main story 2-8 is a good stage for very early game EXP farming. Besides that, do EXP daily training every day. The other kinds of training only become relevant after you have a very specific setup (https://lastorigin.fandom.com/wiki/EXP_Farming#5-8Ex_Emily_Farm) that lets you get EXP another way.
Character building: as you level you'll want to distribute your extra stat points. There's a guide about the basic rules to follow (https://lastorigin.fandom.com/wiki/Stat_Distribution_Guide#Overall_Stat_Distribution), though of course be flexible.
In regards to equip: early on you can use whatever, but don't upgrade anything lower than SS rarity. It's too big a resource drain for equips you'll only be using temporarily.

Now as to playing the actual fricking game:
If there's a timed event going, just farm that to death, one stage at a time, as deep as you can get. That's your main source of characters, equips, and materials (both as drops and by buying stuff from the event currency store).
If there's downtime (=no event, event fully cleared out, or as is likely early on you've hit a wall and can't go further), it's a good chance to focus on main story and permanent event stages instead. Those have lower drop rates and aren't worth farming the same way you do with timed events, but you should try and collect all the 1st clear and 4-star clear rewards (notably there's a few characters you can only get as story rewards).
Early on there's a decent chance you'll be farming with inefficient teams and running out of resources. All you can do then is sit on your ass and wait for passive resource regen to do its thing. As long as you follow the advice in the previous post, the issue will fix itself at some point. How much you actually play also matters, autistic 24/7 farmers will be hurt by this more.
Eventually you'll start running into gimmicky and/or actually hard stages you can't beat by just throwing more EXP at the problem. At that point you have two options: either actually read what character and enemy skills do and figure out good team compositions (high IQ), or shamelessly copy them off the internet (low IQ but sure is convenient). By the time you get there you should hopefully be somewhat familiar with game mechanics and out of the early game.

Really dependent on ex-level anon. The most efficient ex farmer is 0 link Titania or Ramiel. The next best is Invicible Dragon+ Maria team. They are much less efficient but should be able to one shot most stages up until chapter 7. I honestly never see anyone farm with a 5link Eternity. She isn't built for farming

The same as Titania set up, 100% crit, as much Acc as you need to hit all enemies, the rest into Atk. Gear is probably Atk/crti chip, Anti OS depending on the stages, recon drone/crystal ball or whatever AP booster pack gear. She need to be in injured status for it to work though
I tried using the same equipment as you but she's too slow to go first.
Which stage? There is no 1 set up for all. Each stages have different enemies and different strat.
EV-1EX for the Circe event and I just tried 7-1EX. Both times she is too slow.
I am pretty sure those stages can't be solo farmed. Chapter 7 usually need a 3 man team. Titania/Ramiel can only about er chapter 4ex and below and Event B stages. Ex stages are too strong for 1 man team

Main advantage of JP is just convenience. Easier updates, proper PC client, can whale all you want, etc. Content is still one year behind and there seem to be no plans to change that.
This thread is kinda skewed in favor of JP because a bunch of people flooded in after the "official" eng translation came out (which is based on JP). But honestly I don't think which version you play makes that much of a difference.
I mean, one major difference between the two versions is that, because JP is behind, EVERYTHING is translated. When a new event comes out in KR it's all in runes, so if you had not started the game because you wanted to know what was going on starting in KR won't help you.
Apparently, JP is also slightly cheaper/runs skin sales a bit more often, but because now Pigs is running both versions that may change.
What I'm afraid for the jap version is that one day they decide to censor a lot of content because it would no longer be in accordance with their "nudity" rules while, in my opinion, there is much less risk for Korean servers.
But cheaper skins could be interesting.
As far as I know, Korea is a bit stricter than that: I started playing JP back in the summer, and the last skins that were censored were in that batch. No other skin that came out in this 6-7 months was changed IIRC, and even the ones that were changed were really inconsistent in what was ok and what wasn't.
Also consider that as a few days ago the JP publisher (the Pigs that everyone is talking about ITT) bought out the developers of the game, so if you are worried about something it should be about that. On the other hand, now that the publisher and developer is the same company, if something is going to happen to one version it's going to happen to the other one too.
Same company can decide to apply different rules depending on the country.

It got lost a bit in the talk about skins, but I mostly wanted to tell that anon to -really- consider if he wants to start a version that doesn't have up to date translations for events/story: I've been around these threads for a few months, and while some people had to no problems to just get on KR and play there (mostly because units get translated faster, IIRC Clover was translated after a few days), some others lamented a bit after starting that playing without being able to understand events was becoming a bit of a drag.
I feel like people focus a bit too much on what voices are available and pass over on the amount of translation present, something that I feel is more important.

JP has like 5 censored skins. If you don't even own any of the skins, you don't have to patch them. Meanwhile if you want to play the game in English at all on KR, you have to manually download the new apk and new English patch every update until EoS. And the translation is incomplete. And you can't buy skins without ruining your progression. And you have to surrender your computer to an emulator that comes packed with spyware.

For now, I'd settled for farming Rioboros Ev3-1ep. I had this feeling that event stages might be more generous with loot. Can't confirm or deny yet.

Update: 7-4B seems like a decent farming stage. Can be soloed quick by a Lilith, half the enemies spend their turns chucking sperm at her and then get instantly countered to death.
No other drops beyond materials so you can keep at it for hundreds of clears with no need to clear your bags in between.

It is a bit of a setback for sure. I'll just revert to doing what I did before any patches to get a clue of what was going on: switch over to Bluestacks and use screen translation.
Since it's just Part 1 of the event at the start, it'll all probably fit into Bluestacks' 100 daily free translations. Then if the translation seems busted, cross examine with OCR or something.

You're mixing things up a bit. The iron parasite Nest fights and beats the Star Child. Then commander attacks Nest the way you described, taking advantage of the fact it's worn out after its last fight. After you destroy it the Star Child looks to be waking up, so everyone fricks off real quick.

Yeah, I haven't played any actual gacha, so I don't have anything to compare to, but I really liked my experience with this game. I'm definitely not going to play actual gacha.
I'd hold judgment until we get a look at how the new year starts. There is not a single dedicated forum or other site out there for any game or interest that isn't a haven of pessimism or pessimism momentarily being held back by coomerposting.
I like the surge of interest the JP server has brought even here, and there's been killer designs that have attracted lots of buzz around the game in two waves because of the double releases. Now we gotta see how the new ownership sticks the landing. I hope for more sick designs soon, I think there's a new secret unit still coming for the new KR event judging by the fact that BP was not actually the one who sent the distress signal, despite the signal being in her name.

How does the blind trope work with a bioroid? She could just get a new set of eyes and that would fix the issue. Unless she deliberately chooses to be blind because she enjoys it.
No clue if she enjoys it, or if it's something she feels like is a vital part of who she is, but Bismarck and Densetsu made her that way.
It seems to very much be a Daredevil level blindness though, where she can kind of echolocate (somewhat fitting for a vampire) and get a rough idea of things, 'cause she's still out there intercepting mid-air missiles and ready to man heavy artillery solo to buy her allies time.
If it's not just an act, she's only missing out on color, everything 2D, and fine features.
To add, she can also seemingly write (the world went to shit as she was on a global fan meeting tour writing autographs), and if whoever sent the signal under her name in the event intro is her or anything like her, operate pre-destruction computers and other secure line communication hardware and software.
So, frankly put, it seems like she's blind in name only.

All types of elemental damage bypass defense altogether, and fire happens to be the type enemies in that stage have no resistance to.
Also a bunch of them have passive skills that trigger or get cancelled specifically when hit with fire.

It's not listed on the wiki but 0-link Aeda can be used on 4-4Ex. I just copied the accuracy requirements for Titania and then max crit then rest into attack. Crit chip + Atk chip + Anti-Air OS + Enhanced Output Limit Release Device all +10. Alternate between Titania and Aeda when you have too much parts or power but nutrition has always been great since doing this for me.
What are people using for the 3rd extra stage? I have a May and Khan which works, but is just very slow.

This works. Although I prefer using Blackwyrm over Alpha since she provides -30% fire res down on all enemy types not just light/flying. Btw you don't need a full link alpha and ella for this strat to work but ramiel needs the full link with the bonus for skill effect.

Pretty sure the extra speed and AP from Alpha is required for Ramiel to go first in the 3rd ex.
