Chadtoshi obviously
the real winners are us who will watch as the fire burns from a safe distance
Does it matter? The entire battle has been a huge flop. It was all bark and no bite. It failed to deliver on every level.
Leon being the clear endgame for Ash killed any suspense and excitement. I'm more excited about the reason why Cynthia wants to retire than the actual battle.
I'm a Cynthiagay, but Ash is obviously going to win this, the plot requires it.
Guess it's the price to pay for being literally the strongest npc so far in the games.
I’m literally a 30 year old boomer and I can vividly remember battling her and getting all my Pokémon wiped one by one when she had her Garchomp out
She may not be this tournament’s champion, but she is my champion
Thank you Cythina for making Gen 4 the peak of the series
39 next week,, she didn't wipe me, but she WAS the first time a champion battle wasn't a two-shot as even though I hit her hard, she retaliated hard.
Hearing she actually had flawless IV'mons also implied not only was she strong, she was an expert breeder on top.
You must be really shit if you found cynthia hard, I played through gen 4 when i was still a dumb kid focusing on leveling my starter and box legendary only and i still won pretty easily
Cynthia is the hardest champion in the games, thats fact
Just use Avalnche, you nerds.
>fan poll as proof
Uh huh
Amen. I'm sorry they took away your Lucario and your awesome new moveset. Cynthia, you're the best, even if you don't win this tournament.
But please, please don't retire. I can't take losing another Celestican this year.
(I'm not really upset because hey, we all beat her eventually lmao)
>25
>obliterated her with no issues at like 9-10 years old when ti came out
How are you all so bad? I mean at like 7 I was struggling to beat Wallace in Emerald.
Platinum (baby mode) or Diamond Pearl? (godlike difficulty spike)
>Cynthia fans are actually horrible at Pokemon
we already know Cynthia loses lmao
the only question is - how many Lucario power-ups before it can beat Base Chomp?

The cheater will win.
She can't use her cheater gimmick, so Iris won
>psychically linking herself to her dwagons to maximise their power unnaturally
>not a fricking gimmick
Cheaters get what they fricking deserve, competition rules only allowed bangle gimmicks, not psychic ones. Hell, she even proved it was a gimmick, wasting it on Ash's Dragonite, then being unable to use it on her own on the next turn.
being a good trainer and building a rapport with your mons is not a gimmick, it's just good fundamentals (something gimmickthia cucks know nothing about)
cope, irisTRASH
the snowflake power-up still lost
>irisTRASH
Yeah a complete shitter like Iris still 2-3'd Cynthia lmao.
cope
An Eevee Singularity will stop the match and swallow Ash and his Pikachu, ending the anime forever.
I fricking wish, the Masters 8 has been so disappointing.
Iris won
Shitroona lost
Shitroona has to rely on a gimmick from another region lol
Iris battles with just sheer will and tenacity
At what time the episode airs? Are there places that livestream it?
Could you imagine if Ash jobbed to Cynthia?
>pic literally shows Ash facing invincible Cynthia
Ash wins as he is struggling and determined to overcome the challenges; and finally triumph against formidable adversaries.
When I read this thread I see none of you actually watched the show.
Iris never showed any Champion ambitions unlike AJ, Giselle, Casey, Alain, Ritchie, Paul, etc. And that was in Gen5!!! Alain was battling legit legendaries, Tobias was using actual legendaries, Ash and others were going through GymBadge quest hells in multiple regions to gain the EXP. Giselle at least went to a trainer school.
Iris being Champion is only cause she's one in the games, the anime did an arceusawful job at portraying her progression, it feels unearned as heck if you watch the show.
Realistically, Ash should have already lost with 3-6 at best but the writers really don't give a frick about the established powerlevel balance anymore. You can see how OLM is tired of drawing this crap by this point.
>Established power level balance
Like 20 fricking years ago Krabby swept a team in his very first battle ever and evolved after KOing a single Pokemon and you guys are like "these power levels make no sense!"
Also awful artstyle. Gimme the Kalos artstyle.
>gimme the crappy artstyle
I'm on the side that recognizes how caring about battles in the Pokemon anime is moronic and doesn't give a frick about who wins. The Pokemon anime is good only for its world building. The battles make no sense and adhere to no logic or consistency whatsoever.
Ash. Even though Cynthia is better, I despise coomergays and want to see them btfo'd.
It does not matter who is strongest.
It does not matter who has the better team.
It does not matter who is more experienced.
It does not matter who should logically win, this is an anime, the winner will be the one that better serves the plot. Literally nothing else matters. None of your nonstop power want threads are relevant. Ash will win because the series needs him to face Leon at least once. Facing off against the champion of the newest game is good for marketing, it's inevitable. Ashnhas to battle Leon, and because of seeding that means he has to beat Cynthia. Nothing else matters, it doesn't matter if Cynthia brought 6 legends and Ash just had a Paras, he would win. It's like you people forgot you're watching a fricking children's show.
>Facing off against the champion of the newest game is good for marketing, it's inevitable
While I agree with you overall that Ash will win because it serves the plot. The quoted statement doesn't follow. Ash rarely faces the champion of a given region. He didn't face Cynthia in gen4. He's always lost in the tournaments leading up to being allowed to face the Elite4 in pretty much every region.
In this season, however, it's just set up for Ash to fight Leon. But him facing the champion like this is out of the ordinary.
You say that but considering this show seems to build up something only for them to say “LOL GOTCHA” at the last minute
Depends what you think of as the last minute.
Every character except Alain who introduced due in the Pokémon league to beat Ash.
>Ritchie
>Harrison
>Tyson
>Tobias the ultimate example
>Cameron
There’s also seem to be times where it felt like they had a plan for something but scrapped it for one reason or another. Like Ritchie and Casey just outright disappearing in Johto without any closure
Ash, so he's one step closer to being retired as a character.
I want Cynthia to win, but it just doesn't make sense from any storyline/plot standpoint. Of course Ash is going to win because they want to have the finale of the season be with the Champion from Galar. They wouldn't hype this up for Ash to lose to Cynthia here and have her face Leon off screen.
The ONLY merit I can see an argument favouring Cynthia winning is:
>Ash would be too strong of a trainer to start out as a "noob" in a new region
If ash beats Cynthia (and even if he loses to Leon), he would be considered a top 3 trainer in the whole world. This doesn't make sense considering that he will be seen losing to scrubs at the beginning of next season. At least if he loses to Cynthia they can go with the whole "he still has things to learn!" narrative.
But I doubt it. Ash will win and I don't think we'll see Cynthia for a while. Which is unfortunate because I like her.
>If ash beats Cynthia (and even if he loses to Leon), he would be considered a top 3 trainer in the whole world
The rest of your post is sound but this is stupid. He's already what, top 5 or 4 in the world? As if being top 3 would make it make less sense for a power reset. We're already past the point of sense.
>As if being top 3 would make it make less sense for a power reset. We're already past the point of sense.
That's fair, and I did consider that. It would just highlight the powergap that Ash has to the "real champions" and "real strong trainers" by losing to Cynthia. It would go along with the headcannon many have of her and Leon being the strongest so it would make it seem like they are on a level well above even other champions. So Ash could be 5th strongest, but jumping up to the next tier would require a major effort.
But yes, I understand that him beating Steven already throws any power balance/continuity out of the water.
The boy('s plot armour and shitty writing in his favour).
Wish I could support him out of genuine love for the character but that ship sailed quite some time ago. I'm mostly just here for the schadenfreude be it from ashgays or cynthiaslaves (or even better, both).
