The fastest characters will always go for the slowest in Human battles. Tanks like Meursault and Sinclair have low speed which makes them a big target. If on the off-chance they have enough speed to redirect a clash then that's even better as they'll be able to pile up even more attacks unto themselves.

Boss characters like Aida and Guido are always at the back and have the superior speed, so they will go for your slowest unit.
Being the slowest unit is also and advantage because right now almost every ally buff targets the slowest character.

Yeah, if you notice your first action always goes to the enemies at the very front (usually staggered) and enemies and you rearrange in a way the slowest character is always at the front.
They'll actually rework stagger speed just so staggered enemies aren't always at the very front and eat up your fastest attack.

i agree, that is if they adjust general game mechanics and some characters might end up being affected by that. it might suck but it's generally fair. however "adjusting stagger threshold" is a bit sketchy because they're literally picking and choosing who gets the short end of the stick, as opposed to there being classes for Identities which will determine their threshold for example. i guess we'll see how it goes.
yeah, in FGO it's basically stuff like "oh we have an anti-male charmlock team? make all future male bosses except one charm immune" "hmm, there are servants that can do a gazillion damage in one hit? let's introduce break bars so that bosses can't be one shot" and so on. so technically the characters are the same, but the content just won't let them shine. but considering how they treated the default 0 characters, them being extremely viable and automatically uptied through story progression, i wouldn't worry too much about that kind of stuff yet

I think they're still trying to figure out what to actually do to make people satisfied with the combat changes. What they announced so far wasn't extensive enough to require a delay

I think some of these gave them a challenge in making sure they turn out fine, especially the fact that "won't target staggered characters" goes both ways (as good as it is that the inquisitors won't attack the staggered characters that also might mean that the K Corp goons won't be attacked properly while they keep regenerating for example).
That's just more of a massive disadvantage of trying to speed-up gameplay with human battles by taking away control because of two different scenarios where you DO want to finish off people and when you don't. There's no real one-size fits all solution. I wonder if it can be fixed if you just flat out make EGO attacks able to target anyone you wish
I feel like the higher-speed chaining gameplay could work if different skills had different targeting and taunt effects and stuff that would change the overall flow of clashes. I know a few EGO are like that but not enough.

Unless you get a single ticket from luxcavation then 1 dungeon and 6 luxcavations would still give better rewards than the old mirror dungeon for the same amount of stamina. Not to mention that luxcavations are single battles, not full dungeons, so far more time efficient too.

It has micro transaction, but it is not p2p and you can perfectly beat the story without grinding.
Many base IDs are viable until now. You can also reroll pretty fast until you get some rare IDs.
The catch is that the combat is very hectic and RNG heavy, especially so compared to PM's previous game. There are ways to turn the odds in your favor, but the RNG factor is still there, and it can show up at the worst times.
Other than that, no catch.

There are ways to keep the style but also give info to the player. They could also let you use a toggle to change the UI to a more advanced one with more info.
