Anon, I played years and years ago. I can tell you, me and my friends looked for any alternative for leveling at the time.

If you want to play the MMO you're subscribed to you basically have to grind dungeon after dungeon after dungeon, usually the roulette so you're getting low level, shitty ones where you have none of your skills and combat is a chore.

as a tank, gotta know how to bait enemies into attacking you while using defensives/guard/undead, when to push crystal and when to focus and chase annoying enemy jobs. Unless you got paired with tunnel-visioned impaired people, that is.
Half the time I get stunned multiple times in a row or fricked so fast that the only thing that would've saved me is guard. I don't even feel like I'm doing anything wrong half the time just getting focused and raped.
If you run in all by your lonesome without your team coming in shortly afterwards, you're gonna get fricked. As DRK or PLD you can kind of get around it with your LB, but you have to be careful as WAR or GNB.
Nah I mean I even have team mates nearby but I still find myself getting face fricked. Even using quietus, tbn, etc. Like I said maybe it's just bad luck.
First moments of match before or around crystal can be moved i usually poke and focus one of the annoying aforementioned jobs, then guard close to crystal. I prioritize ranged (mch, brd), healers (if there's only 1) and casters. The rest is hoping team listens to which job to focus and isn't crippled enough to die. Then retreat to full health if needed and defend crystal again, cuz enemy should've wasted big buttons at this point
also seeing your surroundings for a potion laying around is important while under attack, specially if enemy's closer to one than you

Three. But from what I'm seeing almost all of them are having issues even at first phase because the mechanics are so fast, random, and immediate personal responsibilities.
Right now if we are going to judge by the streaming groups, no one is consistent at getting at any phase yet.

It looks confusing but to be honest its only 3 mechanics for phase 1. First one and second one simplified are your choice of role or light parties, with melees flexing as needed. Final mech is tank busters on top of 3 members of each group baiting their own protean by distance.
