It's insane how nothing in the series lives up to the first four games. I've never seen a franchise go downhill so badly.
I havent played past Tools of Destruction but that one's alright. Not the same but I'd still call it a good game all things considered.
1 > 2 > Deadlocked > 3
>four
>1
>2
>3
>Deadlocked
yes it's #4, no there is no indication that deadlocked is a spinoff, it's clearly a sequel to 3
Uhhhh it doesn't literally have "four" in the title so you're wrong. Get fricked moron
I know you're joking, but if we're going by that metric then technically none of the games are connected because the official titles for NTSC-U aren't numbered sequels.
Up Your Arsenal's logo SPECIFICALLY has the & turned around to resemble a 3. You're getting fricking annihilated right now and you don't even know it.
GC's logo is also stylised so the background looks like a 2.
>what is Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic Mania come out like 5 years ago. Meanwhile the last "good" game for R&C was arguably either Deadlocked or ACiT, depending on what your criteria is for a good R&C game. Setting/writing-wise everything fell apart at Deadlocked, but gameplay-wise ACiT was the last game to carry that classic R&C feel.
Based Deadlocked includer
Deadlocked will never be be topped. The jokes were damn funny.
I honestly don't get why people are so cold toward that game they have to have not played it to dislike it. It's the best blend of platforming, shooting, and humor in the series.
I was such a fan of the PS2 games and I bought a PS3 essentially for Tools of Destruction and I could feel this awful sinking feeling while playing it
To me the ps3 and beyond it just felt like they were trying to hard to pander to kids.
Holy shit, I'm CRASH BANDICOOT
I am Anon.
This is a gay Black person.
Really building up the relationship there
It was at this point that Anon realized he was a furry
Cum and buy a Pixelizer
Not retro
David Bergeaud somehow mashed Techno & Orchestra together, and it worked really well. After they replaced him, R&C's music list became absolutely shit. I really want a stereo version of R&C1's soundtrack.
Outside of maybe the main theme to CiT (or whatever plays when you select it on the PS3 menu) I don't think I could remember a single HD era RC music track if you put a gun to my head. I'm not one of those buttholes that pretends the PS3 games are bad but they definitely lost everything special when they fell for the cinematic presentation meme.
Even then, the planets somewhat have an identity tied to their music, at least in Tools of Destruction. After that, it went to shit. Generic, boring music to fit "muh cinematic" experience. They also have the audacity to sell a vinyl soundtrack of the latest PS5 game that nobody wanted, while neglecting David's work. Sony's ran by morons.
A lot of people don't seem to realize that Bergeaud was one of the composers on ToD. Even though it's not nearly as good as the PS2 games or even SM, it does at least have more charm than the later games.
ToD was also the last game in the series to have the ship flight loading screens. I don't know why they removed this, but I always liked those sections.
Best track IMO
Definite banger
Loved the feeling of existential dread in that level
Series is too much of a fresh faced space adventure serial to go full Gemlik Base anymore.
I still think Novalis is the best. It's also one of the rare tracks that's in stereo. Someone found it in an old August 2002 beta disc.
Still would.
I liked how much more shitty of a person Ratchet was in the first game. He became such a good boy later.
Am I the only one that could never get the in-game cheats to work?
You need to beat the game first.
I did but I think I just suck
I never heard about the inputs for them, sounds like some playground rumour shit. Just unlock them through skillpoints it's not like they're any hard.
This has been known since release. They work. Anon might not be inputting the commands fast enough.
Friendly reminder that the Soundtracks to at least 2 and 3 still exist in original quality (some of the devs claim to own their own backups) but there's just no soundtrack release of them.
?t=93
Watch this at 11:30, the audio directors of the game have more musical talent and creativity than the professional teams on the PS3 games
My only problem with deadlocked is that the mod system just doesn't feel quite the same as having an arsenal of like 20-30 weapons. Even though you can mod the frick out of them to completely change their behavior and functionality it still feels like you only have 4-5 weapons.
And how many of those 20-30 weapons got regular use and weren't just meme picks? Deadlocked's arsenal is smaller, but every weapon has its niche and so they all get time to shine.
Yeah you're not wrong it's just one of those monkey brain logic kind of things. 30 weapons but only 10 of them are any good just feels better than 5 weapons where all 5 of them are good even if my higher brain functions know better.
I still love the game to death though, I miss having some buddies to play the co-op campaign with. It's a shame Insomniac didn't think to support LAN for multiplayer in 3 and Deadlocked it would make setting up something online so easy.
I always love the level music that has some kind of weird instrument sound in it
