Looking back at it now this was fromsoft's peak performance.

Looking back at it now this was fromsoft's peak performance. Elden ring was ok, but it's just the same old souls copypaste with the addition of open world (sadly). Hopefully they go with sekiro 2 for their next title.
It was the first time in over a decade I felt pure joy playing a vidya.

a monkey could fight sekiros boss fights, I really hope they don't make another one. elden ring was trash but the other games are ok

throwaway straight swords from ds3 are more complex than the sword moveset in sekiro. either way both games arent complex anyway

literally every game with combat in a nutshell

I don't know, can a monkey play other games? can a monkey play an rpg and read information on a screen, think, and choose the correct option? can a monkey play portal, where you have to think and maneuver around conceptual puzzles in real time? no. but a monkey can be trained to press a button when they see a light flash. sekiro is just a simple game. nothing wrong with that, I just hate when people act like sekiro is some kind of game that needs a sequel when it's the same set of enemies and moves for like 30-40 hours

I dunno if that was the case why don't I see anyone screaming about Portal being impossible to beat, or any braindead jrpg requiring too much skill

Other games have also focus on positioning, which is not a thing
In Sekiro you also are unable to hyperarmor or trade

Just finished it recently, literally became my favorite fromsoft game ever. One thing I don't understand though, why do scrubs always b***h about sword saint isshin, i got him on my third try, meanwhile demon of hatred filtered me for a whole day and finally managed to beat him only with the umbrella.

Because he's the final test of everything you've learned in the game and is easy if you paid attention and actually learned the game. Its like how a test in school is only difficult if you weren't paying attention.

I mean, it was just a sold single player game dude, reminded me of playing onimusha or ninja Gaiden and it was trying to do something different, people will say it plays the same as other souls/soulsbornes but it really doesn't and that was a breath of fresh air. Just reminded me of old game design which is a good thing

Im just saying that Elden Ring is really inconsistent. Some enemies and bosses give you almost no time to get damage in, and punish you in inconsistent ways with unpredictable combo mixups. I've been playing with teh Swordsmanship mod and the two major changes benefit the game greatly. First is that the roll is replaced with a bloodborne style quickdodge, and the seconds is that you can block 100% with a well timed block, even if you're two handing a weapons.

Elden Ring is easy if you have a 100% physical shield but after playing half the game with a two handed polearm build, it's fricking MISERY trying to dodge roll and get damage in.

              Link the mod

              >Game has small shield, shields, greatshields, 2 heavy weapons, swords, katanas and curved swords that let you block or parry

Anon you're dumb as frick if you think the weapon block can do anything past early game in Elden ring. It's only like a 40% damage reduction.

I'm playing Elden Ring with Bloodborne dodging and Sekiro parrying and its amazing. You deserve to suffer the shit gameplay of vanilla and Im glad you aren't having as much fun as me for harboring such shit opinions.

this. you can tell the game is good because it's hard and anyone who doesn't spend 30 hours doing something they don't like shouldn't have an opinion on it

sekiro is stupid. There is no outsmarting enemies or smart tactics or smart builds. if you lose to a boss, it's because you didn't do the quick time events good enough. it has nothing to do with intelligence

            Anonymous

You can counter every boss with Shinobi tools. Going in with your sword only is for smoothbrains. You don't know any of that though because you don't actually pay attention.

Prosthetics are the exact same as Ashes of War, extra moves tied to a consumable.
This is why Sekiro is overrated as frick and an overglorified Elden Ring jump tech demo
The whole point of Souls combat having small combos and lock on is that the whole game is about positioning and quick movements for a PVP and PVE system, but it also has an endless moveset variety, ranged, magic, Ashes, armor types and RPG systems to expand it.
Sekiro is a PVE game with a single sword more limited than Elden Ring
Literally just play Nioh at this point

Yes that is what I was getting at, how is parrying in Sekiro meant to be easier when every one you do isn't rewarded with an instant counter attack

Then don't frick it up? You got your dodge to fall back on, I mean I might as well say if you stand still and let the enemy hit you you die in Sekiro too

ER is already ded, it was ok for 2-3 months post releade and then dead silence. Sekiro was actively talked about for over year and a half, now that' impact. Not to mention how many action games started copypasting it's gameplay design right off the bat.
