It actually looks quite good for a Bethesda game and I'm glad we'll have barren or almost barren worlds to explore, I want scifi not futuristic fantasy with jungle planets and cyberpunk cities everywhere. Also that sky box is really nice.
And I'm not blindly praising the graphics, I know full well that we'll have shitting loading times everywhere killing the immersion anyway.
>I mean this could be a mass effect 1 or 2 screenshot
This looks like an unimpressive current gen game. Mass Effect clearly looks like a Unreal Engine 3 game from the 360 era. Starfield seem to have environments that are a bit better than those from Mass Effect Andromeda which wasn't a bad looking game apart from the characters.
>It actually looks quite good for a Bethesda game
It doesnt. Modded skyrim looks better, and it looks barely better than unmodded FO4. >I'm glad we'll have barren or almost barren worlds to explore
Jesus christ >I want scifi not futuristic fantasy with jungle planets and cyberpunk cities everywhere. Also that sky box is really nice.
TIL that "science fiction" actually means wastelands in space and ignoring all staples of sci-fi whatsoever.
>I want scifi not futuristic fantasy with jungle planets and cyberpunk cities everywhere. Also that sky box is really nice. >flora is fantasy >cities are fantasy >sci-fi means empty ass planets
congratulations on being the biggest black person in this thread
people are really moronic when it comes to graphics and say dumbshit like this all the time?
same with >it looks like a PS2 game
when the texture fidelity and models look more akin to PS3, i think they just forgot how ass games looked
they're used to putting a tint filter over their scene which has the side-effect of 'harmonizing' the colors (looks like everything's in the same light bouncing around). But now they'd have to do it themselves and they don't know what the frick they're doing in that regard.
Bethesda games always look like shit. Oblivion came out the same year as gears of war and looks like graphical sludge compared to it. But Bethesda games are fun as frick so nobody cares.
no, looks very good actually.
does not look interesting, though, for that it would need some forboding structure on the horizon looking out of place, or some peculiar machines doing something strange.
if you were to tell me that a game about going interesting places and discovering things looked like this, I would accuse you of trying to wow people out of asking where the content is.
>no, looks very good actually.
t. homosexual who gets caught by simple post post processing in 2023
everything in that screenshot except the post effects looks like crap
I don't get why there is so much hate on Starfield here, it feels forced. Most people just seem salty because it isn't TESVI, then there are the seething snoys and tendies.
Anyway the game looks cool and I'm excited.
Ya'll be tripping if you don't think the Creation Kit won't be locked tighter than Todd's wallet and only approved mods can be purchased through the Zenimax store.
The only lesson Beth learned from the paid mods drama was that it can't be forced onto an existing game, the game has to be built from the ground up with that in mind.
Bet you anons 500 atoms that the game will be always online and run a checksum each time it's launched. If the local and server hashes don't match you'll be returned to desktop (aka CTD cos it's Bethesda lol)
this is why I will wait to buy the game until I know for sure it has a good modding scene. if it's not at least on par with skyrim, then I won't buy it, simple as.
Fallout 4 modding is dead and with Todd making people pay for mods I don't see it getting any better.
Every time someone posts about porn mods in Bethesda games it's always Skyrim, even though that game came out almost 12 years ago and they made 2 Fallout games after that.
This. I don't use coomer mods, I do like lore-friendly nudity with realistic texturing though. Seeing people bathe in hot springs in full underwear is just silly. (Sometimes the result is hilarious though, I'll never forget installing Better Bodies in Morrowind and learning it made the Nord Berserkers in Solstheim come at you with their dicks out.)
yes. Overall it looks fine but only because its a marketing piece. When you look at the details you recognize the same old engine that they've been using for 20 years
will it be outerworlds-like i wonder? Will the planets have dedicated level zones that you cannot go beyond? im somewhat conflicted if its good or bad. But otherwise they would never be able to make the gameplay interesting. NMS showed that the giant empty spaces with nothing to do is not a way forward.
Couldn't they have kept all those zones within the planet and its moon? That would make the world feel huge instead of going to differnt planet and being locked to a very specific region.
>That would make the world feel huge instead of going to differnt planet and being locked to a very specific region.
Apparently the different planets are all to a fair scale but just 99.99999999% procedurally generated. Game's gonna take the classic Bethesda complaint of "wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle" to the next level.
>looks like shit innit >You don't want fallout 4 in space? >It's a Bethesda game so that's a given >Yes. Oblivion is jank shit/ >so excited to explore big empty maps over and over. >Why did they copypaste the builidings from fallout 4 >literally looks like the same game >Was thinking the same thing >the state of gaming in 2023 >is the map really so small >Modded skyrim looks better >that "science fiction" actually means wastelands in space and ignoring all staples of sci-fi whatsoever >I never thought I'd be this indifferent about a Bethesda game. because no one ever said a bethesda game looked like shit before the buyout, it certainly wasn't a popular opinion literally over a fricking decade ago
Are we all just pretending that this game isn’t going to be buggy mess on release? Gamebryo/Creation was never even meant for procedural terrain generation.
You don't want fallout 4 in space? What a virgin.
It's Oblivion with guns in space the camera zooms up to them the same way during dialogue
Okay and is this supposed to be a bad thing?
so excited to explore big empty maps over and over.
Yes. Oblivion is jank shit/
Oblivion is jank kino
Yes, jank shit in 2023. No thanks
FO4 was shit
That's as much post-processing as a fricking Frostbite game.
I mean this could be a mass effect 1 or 2 screenshot
wtf Todd?
how bad does the game run that it has to look this crappy?
this is what mass effect 1 looks like
literally looks like the same game
Why did they copypaste the builidings from fallout 4
Was thinking the same thing. Then again, par for the course for Todd, I guess.
You moronic Black folk actually thought Bethesda wasn't going to cheap out and not reuse their shitty fallout assets?
lmfao
where are these buildings in fo4?
KEK! homosexual was caught shitposting as he couldn't reply to such an easy question
Downtown Boston. Shit like Mass Fussion, Greentech, etc
More like why did they use Fallout 4 as a fricking test bed for Starfield, and abandon it after 2 garbage DLCs
You can literally see the Starfield design in so many parts of 4, as well as the map for 76 which was made by BGS Maryland.
>Far Harbor was garbage
It’s certainly not great, definitely doesn’t save the game
As it stands there’s barely a reason to play Fallout 4 because the quests suck, Far Harbor may have been better by comparison but it still wasn’t good
I will buy Todd's Magnum Opus and I will enjoy 300 hours of pure kino while you jaded Gankerirgins seethe.

its funny because their engine is perfectly capable of looking good, they just suck, and it runs like crap
people are really moronic when it comes to graphics and say dumbshit like this all the time?
same with
>it looks like a PS2 game

Thats the capital city of space civilization
love me some brown filter in 2023
The colors on this are really bad. Like completely washed out and drab.
they're used to putting a tint filter over their scene which has the side-effect of 'harmonizing' the colors (looks like everything's in the same light bouncing around). But now they'd have to do it themselves and they don't know what the frick they're doing in that regard.
>looks like shit innit
It's a Bethesda game so that's a given
Sonybro mad? Cry more and jerk off to your movie games
it looks good enough to fulfill my space exploration fantasies
thats a sad admission, my dude.
It's using a barely updated 11 year old engine, what do you expect?
and you're gonna buy it anyway like you always do goy
Bethesda games always look like shit. Oblivion came out the same year as gears of war and looks like graphical sludge compared to it. But Bethesda games are fun as frick so nobody cares.
>Bethesda games are fun as frick
bethesda games are immersive as frick (with mods), but not fun to play
is the map really so small
I never thought I'd be this indifferent about a Bethesda game. It just seems extremely uninteresting and boring.
congrats, you have grown up.
no, looks very good actually.
does not look interesting, though, for that it would need some forboding structure on the horizon looking out of place, or some peculiar machines doing something strange.

Yeah, looks good, I'm waiting for the June direct.
Surely Bethesda can see how soulless this game looks, right?
I don't get why there is so much hate on Starfield here, it feels forced. Most people just seem salty because it isn't TESVI, then there are the seething snoys and tendies.

Wait for mods and enjoy your space bimbo bawd.
Cant wait to prostitute my bimbo troon character

that would be an unwise financial decision

this is why I will wait to buy the game until I know for sure it has a good modding scene. if it's not at least on par with skyrim, then I won't buy it, simple as.
how many total conversion mods skyrim has? is there a racing game, is there a strategy game mod? or is it 99% cosmetic changes?
Fallout 4 modding is dead and with Todd making people pay for mods I don't see it getting any better.
Every time someone posts about porn mods in Bethesda games it's always Skyrim, even though that game came out almost 12 years ago and they made 2 Fallout games after that.
coom mods are only good for screenshots and webms. Actually playing with them is a waste since you have to ignore it or stop to coom too often
This. I don't use coomer mods, I do like lore-friendly nudity with realistic texturing though. Seeing people bathe in hot springs in full underwear is just silly. Yeah, I'll buy the game when I can play a character that looks like this.
>literal Boob and vag window
That's moronic
I will.

cant wait till modders will make every BSG map in each planet so you can go from fallout world from skyrim world

Whatever you say Snoy
You're the sort of guy who looks at pictures from Mars and goes "pfft, I could go to a desert here on Earth."
Mars is literally the same as any dessert on earth. The only reason to go to the moon would be to harvest cheese.
Wait, if Mars is a dessert, why do you just want cheese?
Sweet vs savoury
If Mars is a desert then why do scientists keep saying they've found water there?
the water awkwardly is literally rocks. like some types of rock the chemical formula has a h20 in it among the other elements.
Are we all just pretending that this game isn’t going to be buggy mess on release? Gamebryo/Creation was never even meant for procedural terrain generation.
You write proc gen algorithms in code like anything else, the engine has nothing to do with it.
