my gpu burnt out so I've been using my intel hd graphics. i will use this piece of shit computer until it doesn't turn on anymore. might take a while though, my ssd is still running fine a decade later somehow.
1660 here, all stuff is fine at 1080p.
but im also using a 12600k, so that helps.

what are the prices in your area and are you gonna do renders ect.then the 3060 if just gaming then the 6700XT is way faster and can do 1440p (but dont expect it on newer unoptimized games)
6700xt. I don't know how it compares to a 3060ti but it's a better choice than the 3060.

Literally zero reason to upgrade yet because current gen is unoptimized goyslop and I can play literally anything I need, also current cards don't have enough VRAM.
I will probably upgrade once GPUs come with 32GB of VRAM by default.
This is also my plan since I also want to run AI local models. The 4090 is absurd and next gen cards will make it look like a joke.

I went from a 1060 to a 3060 and the most demanding game I've played so far is Mount & Blade Warband. The only AAA game I've been even remotely tempted to play is RDR2, and that would have run on a 1060.

I'm fine with my 1660ti, but I was playing a lot of VR last year and there was a lot of stuttering even with stuff like Beat Saber; the card is probably to blame.

Starfield plays fine at 1080p constant 30fps with everything on low but indirect lighting on medium since low IL makes certain things blurry. I only really play Bethesda and Rockstar AAA games out of curiosity, everything else is emulation or 10+ years old.

1650 Super too but with some OC, it's still holding up surprisingly well. I can run BG3 with everything on ultra but shadows at 1080p 50-80fps. No reason to upgrade yet
Btw didn't get the REmake4's 8GB scare, mine could handle med-high custom settings with texture on high just fine. I think these retards were unironically cranking the texture cache to like 12GB and crying shit was allocating 12GB and shitting the bed

my computer is almost 10 years old now. lately I notice that it takes a long time for programs to start and sometimes it will freeze up just trying to switch from one window to another. I think my ram is fucked or maybe my cpu is kill from never cleaning the heat sink.

idk I had it automatically shut off once or twice when I was trying to play a game. I'm pretty sure that's because of heat.
Every time system shuts down prematurely errors and bad sectors happen on the HDD.
Use hddregen by Dimitry Primochenko to repair your disk.
And hwmonitor to monitor the temps when at full load.
I have a 5500 xt and no reason to upgrade, maybe for cyberpunk, dunno
