I used to play it back in the day and got back after the news that they're shutting it down, but compared to other rhythm games it just doesn't feel good to play.
Also it still had too much downloading and loading when navigating between the menus. I think one of the main reasons I stopped playing it was because it took forever to get into main menu.
I wonder what finally prompted that deal, feels like I forgot something that was said about it

Or maybe it was the 50th failure of HG trying to continue Robotech in the 21st century.
The last Delta movie released on october last year, and the last Walküre concert will be held this year on may, so we may be loking at the end of Delta but no new series until a few years from now
Delta was still pretty good. Just didnt pay off as hard as Frontier. I liked Hayate and Freyja's relationship way better than Alto and his drama too. The love triangle though... it was weak. Mirage was a third wheel the whole way through and that sucks pretty hard. In fact, she wasnt really much of a character compared to a lot of other girls in the series.
On a vidya note, whats to look forward to here? I dont really care about 2D shmups that much these days. Macross already has Ace Combat clones that are japan only, give me some of those.
Can kawamori ever make kino like Frontier again? Or is it Deltas from now on?
Delta is my favorite of all the series
Sure story isn't the best, but I love everything about the series. Mecha design, action scenes, animation , character design and personalities, and their interactions with each other, the setting.
Ragna is my favorite planet in all sci-fi settings.
Yeah ragna was pretty cool. The big problem with the story is that it dropped the ball in the final act. We just retread Frontier for stakes, main badguy went off the rails crazy without a proper justification as he had been acting genuinely good and understanding up till that point, characters like bogue and the rest of the knights didnt get enough time to properly pull a face turn and just got rushed over to the good side, song magic completely took over everything instantly making all of the mecha fights completely superfluous and meaningless etc. It was just rushed. If a few things got tweaked and it got maybe one or two extra episodes to build up to the finale, I think it would have been on par with frontier.
1st cour was great, 2nd blew it.
Personally I wish they didn't forget Battroid and Gerwalk exist.
Episode 1 was fricking fantastic with music and choreography. In the hindsight it made sense that after 1st episode they focused on flying, but I see it as a wasted potential.

I was honestly hoping that that would be the big turn around. Hayate not being able to match Keith in the sky, but forcing him into a batteroid fight would allow him to dance around the battlefield and give him the edge. Instead he just leveled up his piloting skill and got a song magic buff.
Delta had in my opinion the strongest first half, followed by the worst second half. Part of the issue is every series feels the need to one up the stakes, which has galaxy affecting since 7, the other part is they seem to fall apart when weaving mid/late series SoL character building with the plot. I think the first thing they need to do is tone the frick down back to close to the original's where it is just a war with NO superweapons stronger than the macross.

for psp and vita play Macross Ace Frontier and Macross Delta Scramble, both are very good games with hours of content and good combat

I'm tired of Evo and Battle Operation 2 feels like one of those PS3 games that had an inferior release on PS2 as well that had a budget of some string and cheese and I'm playing the PS2 version
