Now you listen here, bucko. I literally just finished completing RE3 classic with the fan upscaled backgrounds. The dialogue and story are cringe as fuck. A definite downgrade from RE2.

    >carlos walks like 100m to a hospital which magically has all the ingredients to make a t-virus vaccine for Jill
    >each area of the game is incredibly linear and short, definitely not iconic
    >music is inferior to 2
    >macguffins out the ass
    >random scary things happening for literally no reason

Besides Umbrella creating a special tyrant variant to hunt specific people (STARS team), the entirety of the rest of the story is forgettable and terrible.

That being said, RE3:Remake fixed a lot of the cringe and tried to have a more logical story. But the scope of the game is a lot smaller and ultimately falls flat when compared to RE2 original and remake.

    >cringe as fuck scripted run away segments

The bugs and hunter parts are fantastic on replays. Re4 has great flow and the end with pale heads is basically dead factory. The police station section should have been as Jill with Nemesis chasing (and doing shit like breaking the showers you see in re2make) and it would have been fully fine. I also really hate how the first 5 mins aren't tense simply because it auto runs. I wish it didn't. I'd like it a lot more. I hate the beginning bevsuse it's not tense since it plays itself until you start walking with Brad.

i really cannot fathom how people can experience something and get the 180 degree opposite of reality. Everything is a step backwards from RE2R. No ragdolls. Way worse animations. Even the fucking clothes on teh zombies looks shit. They took the heads of the masterfully-crafted zombies from 2R and stuck them onto bodies that were made by a totally less-talented creator and it's glaring. The zombies just explode when you kill them in the hospital setpiece. There's no real metroidvania like level design outside of the first area that we played in the demo and a bit of the hospital/lab, but nothing even close to the level of 2R. And the final boss is the most poorly designed thing I've ever experienced on hardcore.

I think the components of Remake 3 were, or could have been great. I agree with most of what you say minus two statements.

    >Nemesis chases are more fun
Not even remotely. Those scripted chase sequences are tedious and belong in a worse game. Mr. X worked in Remake 2 because he would follow you during regular gameplay. The scripted sections with him though were awful, and all the Nemesis encounters in Remake 3 were like that.

That wasn't by choice though, as Capcom reaped the games budget mid development. Scripted chase sequences are a COPE for when you don't have a rest of the game to put him in. He has fully functional AI for huge unused sections of the city where he was properly supposed to stalk you.

    >The sections that were cut were boring anyways
Nope. They were important parts of 3, and would have given us more of a juicy game to enjoy. Remake 3 needed more, as all those other sections you mentioned were great... it just needed to be longer.
