Majula is one of the only good aspects of DS2, alongside bonfire ascetics and powerstancing.

the only thing good about it was the backdrop sunset

Wish there was a seemless co-op mod for it.
Ah who am I kidding I have nobody to play with.

      What's wrong with summoning?

It's annoying to do everything twice if you're playing through "with" someone else. It's just way comfier to not have to stop and summon every few minutes and makes it feel like an actual adventure you're on with your pal.

I get that, I've played through it co-op before and it would be way comfier if you could just do one continuous playthrough without stopping. Maybe it wouldn't be that hard to make that sort of mod.

I think someone started trying to make one for one of the Dark Souls games but I don't think it ever had any releases. The Elden Ring one works really well, I'm hoping the popularity of that inspires someone to bring it to the other games eventually.

    Who did it best?

Unironically Dark Souls 1. It had the perfect combination of somber and yet peaceful that it puts anyone at ease in a bizarrely eerie feeling of relative safety.

Majula blows everything else away. Shame about the actual game though.

DS2 is by far an absolute mess and the shittiest souls games but Majula is absolutely beautiful, soundtrack and atmosphere wise. Just imagine sittings there with your wife and enjoying the sun set... frick bros I'm so lonely nearly 30 soon...

    >Play DS1 and 3 and love it to death
    >play DS2 for 5 minutes and absolutely hate it
    >give it another try a few months later
    >DS2 ends up being my favorite souls game
    How did that happen?

      Anonymous

      Almost same happened to me
I came from Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1, thought 2 was really shit compared to them
Dark Souls 3 is released, it ends up being far and away the worst in the series, and maybe even one of the worst games From has ever done
It made me look at the entire series more critically and I just ended up with the conclusion that 2 is actually the best one overall

    >Majula getting more and more full as you progress npc quests
    >ends with a cozy community in what was once a ghost town, even the crestfallen is happier, truly feel like a King gathering followers
I mean the shop keep might lose his shit but you don't have to buy from him.
    >Roundable Hold completely empties out as the gang of morons try to kill you, try to kill each other, or just leave
    >ends with everything on fricking fire, nobody left but the blacksmith who has late stage Alzheimer's and the spirit tooning moron who decides that her adoptive father would want her to burn to death with him
They're just twisting the fricking knife at that point.
