It looks unfinished and full of ugly, out of place, kickstarter garbage.

I will admit some f the content like the aurora model and animations are fucking atrocious and I want to slap the shit out of whoever did those assets. I could literally do better in a week. The gameplay is really good though.

This game isn't the most pretty but some of the enemies are and it has a lot of shit to do. Classic 2 is better than the main game though. I played a lot of it and then stopped so I can wait for the final release.
Literally expediency. Or at least that was the plan. They didn't count on being bad at it and taking for fucking ever doing it this way too.
2-d of good enough quality to put out a full game like ROTN these days is one fucking fuck of a lot of work, and not just creating it, but also ironically optimizing it so it plays correctly. That's why the COTM games are 8-bit throwbacks with charm/soul instead of something more ambitious.
I think the problem came down to how bright all the lights in the castle were and how plastic everything looked, apparently they had the opposite problem during development.
I didn't like the animations for cutscenes but honestly I felt it looked just fine generally. It's still one of my favorite castlevanias and it plays very damn smoothly.
>Game is 3D
>Shit
>Game is 2D
>FUCKING PIXEL SHIT I HATE IT 10/10
What the fuck do you want
thing is, game looks ugly as fuck for 3D standards
It looks good what are you talking about schizo?
It looks worse than SotN. It's hideous. Graphically AND the art direction.
bro what? It is filled with visually stunning moments.

OP doesn't even play videogames
OP BTFO
I don't want games, fuck games.
yeah idk. the biggest thing i want out of the sequel is proper visuals.
the game would look way better if it looked like blasphemous. good pixel art is timeless.
yeah it would be top 3 iga's if it was pixel. but as is its still pretty great
Agree, artstyle is great in blasphemous. shame it's the onlyy good thing about that game
You forgot the spanish voice acting
you know 2D games can be not pixelshit, right?

Unreal Engine
It's not the fault of being 3D or 2D that the character designs are just kind of ugly. Good game though.

What's hard to optimize about vanias?
I just imagine I am playing a PSP game, I really enjoyed this and the PSP remake of Rondo of Blood for that matter.
I am guessing that if you grew up with the advance castlevania games this must be really odd to you.
Apparently its "too much work".
But I dont believe it. I mean sure, it probably is more work than 3D models. But is it "too much"?
they did not know that they would be given a lot of money, so they started making 3d
Amateurs who listened to their idiot kickstarter backers instead of having a clear vision of their own.
I like the visuals. It's very gamey.
I think the problem came down to how bright all the lights in the castle were and how plastic everything looked, apparently they had the opposite problem during development.
>that lava section as an example of the game looking better
lost izalith moment
The game looks genuinely better when you turn the brightness in the menu down to 2 or 3.
I didn't like the animations for cutscenes but honestly I felt it looked just fine generally. It's still one of my favorite castlevanias and it plays very damn smoothly.
Was the game popular with Reddit or something? Why does Ganker shit so hard on it?
