The things is, it's not good, the game is awful, i like to think of this "resurgence" (no pun intended) as if everyone fell for the Morbius meme, they played it and say it was great but only because that's what they heard and that's what they were expecting so even if the game is not that great, their minds filled in the missing parts and now believe this is a more than playable game when it's the exact opposite
I was here when the game came out, Everyone loved it
Just it's not a DMC it's way more simple but it had a charm + the CRAZY

the gameplay is serviceable enough, back when it came out I would have said it was weak in the grand scheme of Platinum games in the action department (esp next to Bayonetta) though now it looks like a godsend next to all the crap Platinum has shat out since
the main reason to play it is the memes and shonen shit
given that he only really has screen time in the finale its incredible just how memorable he is
As far as just good characters in general though, Arthur Morgan is pure kino
