I have 1400+ hours in the game and have done nearly everything imaginable. I won't be touching the game until b42 comes out at the very least. Also busy playing DD2.

After years of playing this garbage finally realized that there is a shop with new tyres in it. Now I feel like a turbo shitter for going around looking for cars to steal their stuff.

You can get new tires from trunks and garages. Probably easier than going to an auto shop.

        Anonymous

Not the average autoshop, American Tire to be exact. I just got 5 new tires from their backroom, 2 performance and 3 regular ones. Autoshops have a better chance to spawn stuff related to the maintenance.

why is the development for such a simple game so goddamn slow? it's baffling.

      because the devs are buffoons.

      >why is the development for such a simple game

I'm surprised Ganker thinks this. This seems like the exact type of game Ganker would wank themselves about being better than normies for playing truly complex and hardcore games because Ganker often thinks "more things to do/can do = complexity"

13 years development so far, on par with Star Citizen.

I'll probably be dead before it fully releases.

At least Star Citizen has the excuse of being a do everything game. This game cant even properly simulate bullets.

The early game when you have frick all to defend yourself with and you have to nomad around the map is easily the best part of the game but once you figure out all the tricks then it gets tiresome. They should be spending their time trying to spice up zombie interactions instead of farming simulator bullshit nobody gives a frick about

      >deer migration added before zombie horde migration

      Anonymous

It's really baffling to see the devs investing on late game shit like crafting stations when the game's worst problem is how boring it gets when you actually get shit together.
Almost everything in the game, from skills to item spawn, is a slow process of finding what you need to survive the long run except the long run is the worst part of the game.

I was planning on waiting for the NPCs to boot it up again but that underground update has a lot of comfy base building potential so I might give the game a shot again when it releases

    Fricking hate these devs

Why do they keep adding more and more onto this update? Just release what you have now and work on adding more stuff in future updates.

    >90% of the game is fighting zombies with melee weapons
    >melee combat consists of holding right click + S and hitting left click occasionally
    >when you finally get a firearm it makes you want to go back to using melee because of how absolutely dogshit guns are

Seriously, when are they gonna fix the combat? Shit sucks and it makes no sense for there being a total of 2 broken down and rusty revolvers in the whole of Kentucky.

I hate the gun balacing on this game so much. Firearms don't need any more nerfing besides being loud horde makers, you shouldn't need to modify the settings to find guns/ammo at a reasonable rate, a character with some firearms skills shouldn't miss a slow moving target that much.
The worst is that I feel like the only reason guns are this shit is because the devs haven't fixed zombie migrations to patch up the empty zones you make after getting rid of an horde.

    Is CDDA better?

      Anonymous

Of course it is, both games suffer from one big flaw, which is the lack of NPCs. Technically CDDA has NPCs but they are pretty moronic and generally don't do stuff by themselves.

I always wondered. How come modders can make stuff in a week that takes devs years to complete? I seem to get varying answers.
    >Developers are lazy
    >They're being held back by their publisher
    >Quality control takes time
    >Having lots of employees results in work flow issues and priority

      Anonymous

It's the first one. They're lazy and incompetent hacks. Modders have made npcs, underground bunkers, crafting frameworks and other shit for years. Funny how development on all of those successful and good mods suddenly came to a stop and they just now happen to work on those things.

      Anonymous

Modders already have a game made for them that they can build upon, they don't need to worry about priorities and following a schedule like paid devs do. And sure some paid devs are really lazy too, CDDA is a free project and it progressed a lot faster than PZ for example.

    >take a few hours to clear zombies from an area and board up your doors/windows
    >game is basically just scuffed farming simulator from that point on
the dev needs to stop being an incompetent dickhead and figure out a way to make interacting with the zombies something that stays fun throughout the game rather than only fun in the early game before you have a base. I don't know what exactly but the game needs more shit to do in the mid and late game besides piling up resources and crafting shit you'll never actually use
