In many games where new content is added to an otherwise ever-growing content pool, Rotation is a tool to keep somewhat of a cap on the size of the pool.When the set of legal cards playable gets too large,then some of them are rotated.
-The amount of cognitive load required to keep all of that information top of mind becomes staggering.This is true for trying to plan around what your opponent might do, which becomes so difficult that it feels basically like a new source of randomness.
-too many cards bad, that’s because the practical space into which the devs can release new cards and mechanics is limited by the overall growing power of the format. When they try to keep the power level of the format in check, new cards can’t compete with existing all-stars. When we add new exciting mechanics or allow new cards to compete with old ones, devs powercreep the format, which makes it less and less possible to play anything BUT the top cards.
-Underappreciated cards have a rougher time reaching playability. Some, like Unchained, have cool gameplay dreams or promote interesting new deckbuilding choices… but in a crowded metagame, those cards don’t have a chance to shine. Rotation provides a new environment for those archetypes to try new pairings, explore combinations of lower-powered cards that improve synergy, and more.
-Good balance targets become harder to achieve without effectively rotating cards. devs should give new puzzle for you to solve, but providing new puzzles is very difficult with large card pools full of equivalent replacements. This is easiest to see with staples – there’s not a lot of room to change their numbers, and there are a lot of very similar cards ready to be used to replace them. If they were to ban all of the relevant cards, it would have the same effect as Rotation. However, with Rotation they have a format that can support those cards and they can remain playable for players who truly enjoy them.

Trias is fairly good and honestly you could slot out one of the many handtraps for it. But I constantly go second at locals so I just prepare for the inevitable. While Condemned Witch is nice grabbing forbidden droplets and making loptr on subsequent turns, it doesn't facilitate ending your turn on either a Lavaetein and/or boss stage, which you really want to do.

When you mix punk with something like Zombies or Ishizu the idea is you summon Ze amin, grab foxy tune, use foxy tune to summon deer note, summon chaos ruler with ze amin and deer note, mill a bunch of shit, resummon foxy tune using deer note's effect, Xyz Chaos Ruler and foxy tune together to make zombie vampire, mill more shit, pop off with graveyard effects

The main combos to get it out will only beef it up by 800 or 1600 on their battle phase turn 2 so you'll probably lose a couple thousand LP getting it dead but it's perfectly doable
so what? it's just a big beater that protects itself. As long as you aren't losing the game by crashing into it you should do fine.
Let's assume the Punk player went down 600 lp from Ze Amin and another 600 from Sharakusai. That's a 4.7k max Psychic End Punisher if you made it going 1st. Of course it's harsher if the Punk player has other disruptions, but if you can cover that you aren't losing the game by crashing into it. Ideally you will go down to 6k something LP if you crash into it with something like an Unicorn, which will allow you to easily out it.
I'm having a lot of fun with pure PUNK. Basic combo is:
>Ze Amin searches Foxy
>Foxy summons Sharakusa
>Fusions into Rising Carp
>Carp tributes self to summon Wa Gon and Deer Note
>Searches the field spell
>Synchro shokan into Dragon Drive
>Dragon Drive searches Madame spider and Deer Note summons Sharakusa from the GY (usually in this order to chain block the search).
>Field Spell banishes something to summon Spider
>Spider searches a trap (the trap that destroys is preferable in this meta).
>The field spell draws 2 from Dragon Drive and spider btw
You end on 2 disruptions (the trap + Sharakusa quick effect synchros into Amazing Dragon during the opp's turn) off a Ze Amin. There are a lot of other lines too, such as searching Ghost Ogre from Dragon Drive if you already have spider (or if you just feel like it), but this is the basic route. Pure Punk is more consistent but has a lower ceiling than cassino Punk (Chaos Ruler into Zombie Vampire to mill 9). I like Chaos Ruler but not Vampire in pure punk.
This setup can also make an OTK by summoning Rising Crap from Deer Note instead of Sharakusa when you use Wa Gon and Deer Note to make Dragon Drive.

Mathmech getting cooked by these terribly designed set of cards is the best fucking thing that has happened with early Ishizu. My rogue-ish deck has had some issues with beating Mathmech going second (and Branded too but I don't have the same grudge against that deck), but when I can pop off with Orange Light and an Ishizu shuffler going second, and maybe even mill Eva on top of that for another Orange Light, it feels so fucking good. Getting to dodge Called on Orange Light is also fucking disgusting. Seriously, these cards are so poorly designed but I can't stop using them right now.
That reminds me, in regards to Orange Light, with how many Ishizus you can shove into the deck, can we just shove them into any deck now?

the ishizu monsters have synergy with themselves + orange light so running a critical mass in a mill-centric deck like tear is good enough 90% of the time.
Tears naturally mill on both turns and can discard them from the hand with Sheiren. If you cram the Ishizus most decks you'll brick.

The Ishizu cards in a closed space are fine. The problem is them being splashable in any deck makes designing any card/archetype that wants to mill from deck to graveyard can abuse these cards. It just happens one of the most broken archetypes in modern yugioh also uses them effectively. Tear should be nuked from orbit, but Ishizu should also get a slap on the wrist.
