What is the definitive way to play Mass Effect 1? The MEUITM mod seems to do a very similar job to the Legendary Edition, but the LE's lighting seems botched, I heard there are some mods to fix it but it sounds insane to have to fix a remaster. Were the gameplay changes in ME1LE very good to justify playing that thing?

i like shephard with no whore paint on so id go with the original
The intended way - original game on 360.
they clearly ruined the atmosphere of the original with the lighting changes
since they ported it well to the PC, it made the best version
Legendary edition with mods is now the definitive way unless you care about multiplayer.
The following are what I'd consider essential:
>LE1 Community Patch
>Unofficial LE2 Patch
>LE3 Community Patch
>Pinnacle Station DLC
>Myriad Pro Begone
>MELLO
>ALOT
>ALOV
>Cleaner Beard
>Asari face shine tweak
>Genesis Intro Dialogue Undo Mod
>Kelly & Kenson Restoration
>Immersive Emails
>Ashley's Date Fixed
These are mods to install if you want to restore some of the pointless changes made to the visuals in the legendary edition, these are more down to personal preference:
>Improved Wards Skybox
>Eden Prime Red Sky Restored
>Remove Feros Color Filter
>Remove Intro Window Reflections
>Miranda Butt Shot Restoration
The dynamic lighting is fixed with MELLO. The original PC release also fucked over the dynamic lighting present in the xbox original, so you need mods to fix it either way.
>Ashley's Date Fixed
My man
>The original PC release also fucked over the dynamic lighting present in the xbox original, so you need mods to fix it either way.
What do you mean? The lighting looks pretty similar between the 360 version and PC shown in here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90KHncdLhaU
it's subtle but it's there.
Isn't it kinda gay that the official remaster textures aren't as good as ALOT's? Since they're charging for this it surely feels weird for the professionals to not have nailes down a full on texture upgrade that would be at least up to par with ones made by nerds in a garage. Is that too much to ask?
they're better than ALOT some of the time, it's just inconsistent with the more generic textures.
>playing with subtitles
>playing with subtitles in anything other than english
Just grow the fuck up already.
it's not my video, it's the only video comparing MEUITM versus Legendary edition on youtube

>modding the damaged goods in
ME3/LE Femshep is one of the most offputting character designs I've ever seen. She looks like some cheap blow up doll SFM model that is completely out of place for the rest of the game. OG Femshep face is a bit bland but way better than that travesty.
Just play LE with renegade male shep if you want to have fun
On xbox 360
>What is the definitive way to play Mass Effect 1?
Playing a better game
ME1 was flawed but still great
ME2/3 were trash made to appeal to the Halo/Gears low IQ audience
Original PC trilogy with all the dlc. Then edit the ini, raise the texture res, lighting passes and transparency layers. Play it with 8x8 wide tent supersampling.
Still getting cucked with shit textures and lighting, at least install MEUITM/Recalibrated/MERLIN.
aren't those mods unstable as fuck with the original release? I remember hearing seeing some things with MEUITM alone, like certain salarian models would cause major FPS drops or some shit
They're good now from what I've heard. Honestly though there's very little reason to prefer the originals over legendary since MELLO so I'm not too sure about it.
I can give a reason: if you only want to play ME1, ME LE has an absurd file size for 2 games that aren't worth replaying
I heard people figured out a way to install them separately but I don't remember how.
>the definitive way to play Mass Effect 1
If it's your first time - LE is the way to go. If you've been playing the game for a decade chances are you're gonna mod the originals either way. Still the gameplay changes are pretty sweet, I thought I was burnt out on Mass Effect 1 but I replayed LE two time by now just because it's more fun to play. I'm not a dumb moron graphic whore so some shadow and lighting changes don't scare me.
Just download the ME1 iso separately. You didn't BUY the LE, right? You're not giving money to EA games, right?
I didn't buy the LE, I want to replay ME1 only, I haven't really done much with modding to the original. I wish someone would to a video comparison between say the original with MEUITM + ALOT + MERLIN versus Legendary + MELLO + ALOT
From what I see the texture differences between MEUITM and Legendary are quite small, there are some cosmetic choices in MEUITM that are questionable, this specter's armor having more lights could be argued that it's worse and the modder modified it more than the original designed intended. The thing with LE is that I'm seeing that you have to do a lot of modding to unfuck the lighting and the color that they changed in multiple missions, I would never give them a fucking dime for this shoddy disaster, I'm not a big fan of the 2 later games anyway so to me it's a waste of money to pay for them to be included. Perhaps if it this was a 20 bucks well done ME1-only remaster sure but the changes to the first mission are criminal, the foreboding atmosphere is completely gone. Everyone involved in changing the atmosphere of it with those color filters, whatever they used, should be fired, you're retarded and should be cleaning toilets instead.
MELLO's relatively new so it's hard to find stuff like that, but imo it's far better than original and runs better as well.
The main advantage of OT over LE right now is that some of the faces look worse, particularly Anderson and Udina. There are a few mods that fix Anderson, I haven't seen anything for Udina.
and chinlet female Shepard > this abomination
Yeah idk what they were thinking with the new femshep, felt really rushed.
No.
Bravissimo
lmao
I feel sorry for those who paid money for this literal goyslop cash grab
this is the one LE change that actually makes sense since you're told repeatedly how beautiful Eden Prime is.
>you are repeatedly told how eden prime is so beautiful
>it looks like a hellhole once you get there due to sovereign's influence, providing a stark contrast to what you heard
>this confuses the zoomer so it's changed when the game is updated for modern audiences
ME1LE's artstyle was butchered, but the abhorrent, aged gameplay, was finally improved to tolerable and the audio levels were somewhat touched up. However new bugs that didn't exist before were introduced, framerate tied physics and VFX were added to the game that break constantly and I don't know if they ever patched them. Mako exploration was also significantly improved.
ME1 has the classic looks, the goofy audio and disgusting gameplay. Aged graphics can somewhat be improved with a few mods that don't ruin the artstyle, but there's nothing to fix the gameplay which is so bad you put the game on easy just to get it over with, not to mention the infamous mako exploration.
ME1LE is worth a pirate just for the hell of it, ME1 is worth owning a physical copy.
I don't think the first ME gameplay was that bad, the crouch worked fine, the overheating element was pretty unique and interesting, bar the bug where your weapons remained hot forever. The problem of the Mako wasn't the vehicle itself, the big issue was that the planets and settlements you explored felt repetitive and copypasted, the very same corridors and shit. But it still surely beats planet scanning shit that was barely gameplay at all
Xbox 360
Tyrone Shepard
Renegade Soldier
Wrex + Garrus
why do people recommend the 360 version?
because its the way BW intended you to play, PC port broke some stuff (aesthetics wise) tho you can mod to fix it.
>Oh noes some shaders look different, now its completely unplayable
Still better to run it on higher resolution and framerate than to suffer thru stutterfest and texture pop-in on the 360 below 30 fps
thats what backwards compabilities are for but like I said, practically all the flaws that comes with the PC port are fixed thru mods so it is the definitive way to play ME1.
not femshep
Are there any good mods that give femshep big fat titties and ass?
I pity anyone who has had the misfortune of playing femshep
what if you played originally as male and wanna see how's the female path now? to Hispanice things up
not as much pity but still some pity that youre willingly putting yourself through that
>wanted to play ME1 with a controller
>no support in the original
>LE comes out and I get it for free
>controller support but all new problems
I don't know what to do
just mod it bro
which one
either. I think I remember seeing a mod that added proper controller support to the original, and if there isn't, then you can probably mod the issues out of the LE by now.
LE is worse, just by the grace of having the ginger albino ape be the default.
>ginger albino ape
