I didn't even mean it like that, he can emulated it on pc too
But no reason to play a game that is on some shitty colection
Of course having the cart is better but whatever
i think they got some challenges you can do like what mega man 9/10 has, if you're into that they're probably worth it, but if you just wanna play through the games you can emulate em
I used to play through this every year as a teenager and was wondering the same thing when the legacy collection came out. The first three games are just roms, which you can just emulate yourself with a better emulator exactly how you want to play it. X4 I believe is just the PC port of the game, and the opening FMV is censored, removing the General's salute. The following games I believe are also roms and the PC ports.
Really the only thing that appealed to me about this was being able to easily play all these games from one place, and the challenge modes that let you fight multiple bosses at once, but the price and censorship just doesn't warrant it.
X1-3 have input lag but it's so slight that only a speedrunner will really pick up on it. It's not like the MM anniversary collection on PS2/GC which has insane amounts of input lag.
I’ve got both and sank about 50 hours into each on Steam.
The “fight two bosses at once” mode is great and can get really fricking hard (you can’t get that from downloading roms)
The games play a lot better than the originals. I played X2 on SNES recently and theres a bunch of parts when things just get moronicly slow from too much happening at once. This happens in X1 sometimes as well. So these are actually improved versions.
Yes, if you like the series I’d argue that these are essential. I got a lot of mileage out of them. But if you hate X5 and X6 you should skip the second collection
There's a rom hack for X that adds SA-1 support to remove slowdown here: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5145/
I wouldn't be surprised if there were emulator features now that offered similar performance improvements for X2 as well.
It's a fine collection and worth the money no matter what platform you buy it on including PC. That doesn't mean it coudl've been way better and a perfect collection if Capcom actually cared, imagine having the Xtreme games there, the missing FMVs, hell the PSP version.
these collections are godly compared to what sega does with sonic, yeah they could be better but they could also be so much worse
battle network is adding internet play, they clearly care
ahh I own legacy collection for switch and the originals x1-x4. with the legacy collection physical copy you only get 1-4 on the card then the rest as a digital code. apparently the japanese version has all of them. its not a bad collection and the double challenge fights are kinda fun. I'd say grab it if its on sale. x1-x4 is part 1 of the collection and x5-x8 is part 2... part 2 might not be worth owning if you're not crazy. they go on sale for like 10 bucks all the time, but ya just emulate if you just want to try it. if you're autistic like me and just play the same games over and over.... definitely worth.
Yeah, you can get a physical copy of the second collection in Japanese, which also, if you get them in Japanese, it has the Japanese intro songs in the JP ver of the games (they have both) that's removed in the International releases
I'm pretty pissed I bit early because later they released a very cheap physical collection with the original megaman collections which includes Original Collection 2 physical and it was the only way to get that physical
>save assist fixes most of Zero 1 and Zero 2's glaring problems
ooof this is a pretty based take. that platforming part where you have to diffuse all the bombs but you can't even SEE where the platforms are without wall jumping 100 times is some real bullshit... but the shittly little checkpoints they added made it way less bullshit. also not being able to redo a failed mission in 1 is some real bullshit. whoever thought that'd be fun should be fired.
Just play the originals, moron
this

If you are a fan of the series you can get a physical copy of each or some shit. If you want to try the games for the first time then just emulate
i think they got some challenges you can do like what mega man 9/10 has, if you're into that they're probably worth it, but if you just wanna play through the games you can emulate em
no.

Zero collections is a perfect port but the X collection has some input delay.
Get part 2 for a port of x8
All games are emulated except x7 and x8
Play on original hardware sfc or snes
I think so
also part 2 has the best versions of X7 and X8 for what thats worth, they have better resolution and loading times than the originals
I mean "the best version of X7" only says so much
>collection of emulated roms
>Are they worth it?
No.
>b-but they have slapped-together key art bezels!
You're right. Go for it, champ.

qrd?
i always thought the snes slowdown on X1 was badass as a kid
everything going in "slow-motion" on the railcart as everything was blowing up in the armadillo stage was comfy af
I always thought it was intentional.

Zero collection is good. X you're better off emulating except for maybe 7 and 8. 5 and 6 are massively improved by QOL/rebalancing romhacks

I just went through exactly this a couple nights ago. How could this have shipped on the GBA?
depends on they system
having the buttons on the wrong controller mapped incorrectly could be a problem
i remember the gamecube having issues with this but the X collection may have resolved the issue
any toaster pc can do x1-3 just fine
im not an expert on anything after those snes titles honestly
>paying for roms
Do zooners really?
