MGS4, kino or not?

I'm confused. I know everything has been said in this discussion on this topic but is MGS4 kino or not? Some parts just feel weird, some parts kino, some parts mediocre.
The intro screen for example, or the fight at the end, kino. Gag guy shitting himself? Why did they make him an actual character?

MGS1 is quite possibly one of the best video games ever made. The gameplay was amazing, the story was amazing, the tech behind everything was amazing. You probably played it like 15-20 years after it released and judged it by the standards of whatever time you played it, instead of judging it by 1998 standards where it was INSANELY ahead of its time.

      MGS4 was great.

Frick no. MGSV's gameplay is atrocious, and the "plot" is moronic. It's also unfinished.

        >MGSV's gameplay is atrocious
No it wasn't 4gay. You should look at your own game and how terrible the gameplay and level design is there.

First of all, I'm an MGS1+3 gay.

          Second, (You) are still wrong.
5 only has fluid character CONTROLS.
The GAMEPLAY of TPP is fricking awful trash, filled with GRINDING, WAITING, and REPETITION.

You grind for flowers, materials, dudes, even goddamn animals.
You WAIT for R&D timers to count down, choppers to arrive, and run/ride hours from point A to B, in totally empty open world maps.

On top of this, you got a time-wasting SECOND base you need to manage and protect, because a tacked-on 1-on-1 versus mode with the only intended purpose of selling p2w "insurances" is a totally a fine replacement for the intended MB customization system that got axed, yeah??

Finally, even OP mentioned the literal re-doing the SAME MISSIONS for the dozenth time, this time with slightly different gear!

No one is forcing you to grind for dudes or animals though. You get at least 5 volunteers every mission, and animals are an optional thing. Timers are shit, I agree, but we're talking about the moment to moment gameplay, not clicking on your I-Droid and building shit.

              >No one is forcing you to grind for dudes or animals though
It is the core part of gameplay, Black person.
The entire MGSV experience is essentially Far Cry 2 in third person.

                >It is the core part of gameplay
The core gameplay is action stealth. Rescuing animals is an optional activity.

                >no one is forcing you to grind for dudes
I'm sorry did you miss shit like unlocking t2 fulton? Where you're forced to just dick around rerunning missions to pass time, or grind out specific traits so you can hit the necessary levels to unlock stuff? After you do, sure, you can just throw everyone away, but it's way less smooth than you seem to remember it being. It's a fricking slog to get started.

                >I'm sorry did you miss shit like unlocking t2 fulton?
No, I have it unlocked. I genuinely stopped kidnapping dudes after the 5th mission. Was primary getting staff via volunteers, some of which were elite. Didn't take me long until I started unlocking weapons and gear.

MGS4 is Kojima's 80 million midlife crisis. Every single game he's made told a piece of his personal life at the time. For 2 it was trying to pass Metal Gear to the next generation of developers. For 3 it was being tied to the currents of time and forced to do things he didn't want to do, namely the game itself. With 4 he was fricking done with it all and wanted to metaphorically die. There's a reason he shat on every single character that existed beforehand.
Snake devolvers from the mentor to the clueless player again, plus he's gonna die soon. Naomi does a 180 from her character arc in 1 and also dies. Raiden? The ending of 2 might as well have not existed, he doesn't learn to live with his experiences and passing them on, he becomes a drunkard that may or may not get violent with Rose and he's tortured and loses his body to become a freak. The joke character takes the girl away from Snake, every single question that wasn't made to be answered is, leading to moronic things like "Vamp was able to run on water and walls because he had special tape on his boots", things are outright retconned although that's nothing new, and even the credits theme is such because Kojima was so fricking done he wanted to kill off Snake and Otacon via a firing squad. MGS4 is a multimillion-dollar trolling by a man living in an industry he sees no future in ('this is no FPS, this is MGS') making a game he didn't want to make.

MGS4 was and is still a terrible game that butchered the series and what destroyed whatever semblance of consistency it once had. Major parts of the setting were retconed hard because Kojima thought it was a good idea to explain absolutely everything and not leave a single part of it untouched, which is ironic, since MGS2 was the exact opposite, as Kojima's intentions was to leave as many loose ends as possible that were never meant to be tied up. Explaining away every single supernatural thing as "nanomachines lol" has to be one of the most egregious retcons in the series, only second to the comic relief gays from 3 being the masterminds behind everything that's happened in the series, including the creation of the Patriots, which also should have never been explained. Characters also got assassinated left and right, with Raiden being the worst case of the bunch. I still have no idea how people could just mindlessly cheer at what was done to him in this game. I guess making a character "badass" is enough, since everyone hated Raiden in 2 because he was whiny, so in order to fix that Kojima made him into le badass break-dancing cyborg ninja, except for the fact that when no fighting he's still whining like a b***h, but I guess its okay since he's "badass" now. Gameplay feels alright, but the level design is horrendous, with the second half having some really idiotic sections that should have been cut from the game altogether. Boss fights are probably the worst this series has ever seen, to the point where MGS5 has more entetaning ones. There's also these weird nostalgia section, like Psycho Mantis appearing for no reason other than for memeber berries. Overall, not a good game and people should stop defending it.

survive is my favorite metal gear game.
If it had more procedurally generated stuff and wasn't branded metal gear, it probably would have been a mediocre to okay selling forgettable zombie survival crafting game of the late 2010s.
Instead it's marked off as some abysmal, abhorrent crime against humanity.
    Just makes me sad, really.

Most of it is so terrible the only reasonable explanation is Kojima was trying to Gremlins the franchise so he could do anything else. I started thinking this near the end when Psycho Mantis appeared for no reason near the end besides to burp out memes and realizing so much of the game was hollow fanservice (member berries, not breasts) barely more coherent than that. I remember reading he was sick of Metal Gear by that point but idk if Kojimas that clever
