took an intern 30 seconds of hitting random on the character creator a few times to make that face, silly.
you wish chud
>THAT character creator
Hitting random is a great way to get a monster
selen is unironically better looking than any other waifufag's character i've seen, including my own
the dude spent a while making her
The beautiful feet are all that matters
>shoe size 50
im actually going to puke thats so fucking disgusting
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT A PART OF THE HUMAN BODY AAAIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
actual mental illness
She just can't compete with the arcane queen of feet!
why did she turn into a ball?
Women tend to balloon up when they get too comfortable.
Can't have Ranni losing, and Ranni is the one pullsing the strings at the academy.
>this is what I deserve
>for surrendering myself to delusion
>not for betraying literally everyone and sending the entire world to shit for my own ambitions
>pretty much every npc meets le tragic bad end and/or dies
>BUT NOT MY MARY SUE WAIFU
Why is Miyazaki such a hack?
He's still pissed about DS2 having NPCs that don't die spontaneously after finishing their quests.
I really hope in the DLC it somehow lets us kill her. Honestly, I'd rather she get the death she gave Godwyn.
they will never let you lay a finger on her
holy fuck imagine how KINO it would be if you could get a conversation with that dragon and if you could learn through the game what happened to Godwyn (like from some NPC who had connections to him or something like this) and then if you could avenge him by first acting like you are on Ranni's side and doing quests for her, and at one point you could either continue her quest or backstab her just like she backstabbed Godwyn and everyone around her
shit would be awesome
>summon Tiche during her fight
>you attack her at the end of the questline
God I wish
Because she peered too deeply into the primeval current. Also as karma for her turning other people into balls.
Sellen's a murderer that fashions mages' corpses into mana meatballs. She tried to do the same with her former masters and the ritual backfired on her lying ass.
Because Miyazaki is sadistic autist who literally can't fathom a quest line ending optimistically, someone has to die or receive a faith worse than death. It literally just happened out of nowhere and makes no sense.
Sellen is the graven conspectus leader. She is the one who made the graven masses in Raya Lucaria and it is why she was expelled. She lived in seething hatred, believing herself above her former peers and leaders, that the morality of her studies was irrelevant and the personal danger beneath her.
She was wrong.
No it isn't. I bet you didn't even find her secret rooms in the academy. Did you think Jerren was just crazy when he said she was an evil witch?
>No it isn't.
Yes it is.
>I bet you didn't even find her secret rooms in the academy
Bet wrong, then. I 100% the game long ago.
>Did you think Jerren was just crazy when he said she was an evil witch?
Not crazy, biased.
>Miyazaki is sadistic autist who literally can't fathom a quest line ending optimistically
>Nepheli becoming the noble lord of limgrave with Kenneth as her advisor
>Jar Bairn becoming a noble jar warrior to honor his uncle and the brave potentate diallos
>Telling Boc he's beautiful so he doesn't need to be reborn
3 examples among dozens on nonsensical deaths
Just like real life!
Yeah Diallos sacrificing himself in a final act of redemption pure nonsense. Alexander challenging the player as the greatest warrior he's ever known completely out of character. Big Boggart a thief and former prisoner getting murdered by his former cell mate, completely out of left field.
>Miyazaki is sadistic autist who literally can't fathom a quest line ending optimistically
>okay but what about these
lol. also this isn't a miyazaki thing, play play fromsoft game before souls and see how many NPCs get bad ends. it's just as much of a staple for the company as post-apocalyptic settings.
This. There's more npcs that can get good endings in ER than any other fromsoft game. You just have to go out of your way to get them like rya
Also while Zoraya does have some bad ends, at least one of them involves her setting out on a journey where things are left more open-ended. Will she "carry out her mother's work" and wind up much like Tanith, or will her experiences with you guide her down a gentler path? I'm okay with things being left to chance so long as the character survives at all.
why did they lock progress with such a gentle character behind the most evil path in the game?
That's just how it be sometimes. I do wish that there was a proper Rykard path/ending in the game. Surely it couldn't have been a worse fate for the world than fucking Dung Eater's, even if it meant we were all gonna be partying in a giant snake TOGETHA.
The truth is Miyazaki is obsessed with the old legends like Beowulf and King Arthur where by the time it's over most if not all characters die (and ofttimes of misadventure), the last line of Morte D'arthur (barring Malory's talking about himself finishing the book) is literally 'and then they all died in the Holy Land', the thing is this gets really old in a video game done 5+ times already and with almost zero foreshadowing or attempts to prevent it.
>The truth is Miyazaki is obsessed with the old legends like Beowulf and King Arthur where by the time it's over most if not all characters die
The truth is he's a hack that doesn't understand any of the source material he steals from.
That much is true, he says he likes those old tales because they show the 'good and evil of the human psyche' while ignoring everything else beyond violence. He's a Jap midwit who happens to be talented at making games.
>Because Miyazaki is sadistic autist who literally can't fathom a quest line ending optimistically, someone has to die or receive a faith worse than death.
Which is good because life doesn't end optimistically in real life either. You're going to die anon, and nothing will stop this fact.
Wrong. The man himself said that he is a masochist, not a sadist.
No one know. People speculate a ton like
but there is no proof of any of it, just rhetorical evidence that requires several leaps of logic to reach any conclusion.
By the way the questline went, what would make the most sense is she being half crystallized much like her masters.
>leaps of logic
No, not really:
>She was known as the graven witch Obsessed by the primeval current, countless sorcerers fell to her hands.
>The most dangerous mage in the entire history of Raya Lucaria's Academy
>But Sellen was expelled from the academy.
>Accused of unthinkable treatment of certain sorcerers, under the name of the Graven Witch.
>I still don't believe the accusations.
Graven-School and Mass Talismans:
>A talisman depicting the first school of graven mages — a nightmare that would continue to haunt the academy.
>The primeval current is a forbidden tradition of glintstone sorcery. To those who cleave to its teachings, the act of collecting sorcerers to fashion them into the seeds of stars is but another path of scientific inquiry.
You give Sellen the locations of both Lusat's and Azur's corpses. After that she's gets meatballed. It's all pretty clear to me, dunno about you.
Yeah, it's speculation.
First you have to assume Jerren is saying the truth, when he's her enemy and a servant to the Carian family, which hates her and are the accusers.
Second, you have to assume she's the one making the graven mages, when the japanese translation makes it sound like they form on their own.
Third, you have to assume that for some reason all this time she was never balled or balled herself, neither did none of her masters, but suddenly she does because... karma I guess?
Fourth, you have to assume Sellen has been to all the spread out locations where graven mages show up, one of the them all the way to dragonbarrow (In my opinion, it's much more likely graven mages form naturally, and this supports it)
I'm not saying you're wrong. There's a good chance you're right, but what I'm saying there not nearly enough evidence to have a definitive answer. It does feels very out of nowhere and anti-climatic, but that's personal opinion.
>when the japanese translation
The lore is written in english and then translated, I am so fucking tired of weebs.
>but what I'm saying there not nearly enough evidence to have a definitive answer.
If you assume NPCs are lying for no reason and that she was kicked out for something she didn't do, but then DID do upon returning to the academy.
>The lore is written in english and then translated
lol what, ER is full of mistranslations, including entire endings like Ranni's being boldface wrong in English. I'd argue all lore discussion on ER is moot since none of it is accurate in English.
English is the accurate version, Ranni simp.
>start losing argument
>immediately changes goalpost
Absolute state of Carian simps.
Don't you call me a Ranni simp you son of a bitch, the translation in the game is legit fucked and half the things you read come off as gibberish compared to previous Souls
>american becomes desperate as he even considers the idea of reading or, God forbid, learning a new language
japanese is the most fucked language
>The lore is written in english and then translated
Do you truly believe that when we have abominations of mistranslation like manuals being called cookbooks? Come on now.
>If you assume NPCs are lying for no reason
Oh no, he's not lying. He probably completely believes what he is saying, as he's loyal to his masters, the Carian family, enemies of Sellen which wishes to overthrown them. That's why she was kicked out.
They are fucking cookbooks.
>That's why she was kicked out.
Sje literally turns into a graven mask at the end of her quest. She's guilty.
His argument is contengent on the text itself being wrong, which is just coping.
Some stuff comes off as gibberish due to the scale of the game reducing world building consistancy, not translation
Miazaki is a westsboo
She doesn't want to overthrow the Carians because they started giving bad grades or something. The Carian family directly opposed resarching the Primeval Current (because it's dangerous) so all 3 (Lusat, Azur and Sellen) got the boot but only Sellen is said to be a Graven Sorcerer. Sellen wants to take over to reinstate the Primeval research.
It's just very clear to me she wants power above all else and the Graven accusations fit the shoe perfectly.
>f you recall, I was exiled from the Academy of Raya Lucaria. >It was for attempting to restore the primeval current of glintstone sorcery.
>The toothless pedantry peddled by the Carian royal family can rot for all I care.
>I want glintstone sorceries that open our minds, unbound by terrestrial taboos. No matter what we give in return.
>She doesn't want to overthrow the Carians because they started giving bad grades or something
I never said that. She wants to overthrow them for the exact reason you posted. Think how much of a control freak Ranni is and how swiftly she gets rid of people who threaten her position.
>It's just very clear to me she wants power above all else and the Graven accusations fit the shoe perfectly.
If that's your interpretation, then that fine. The way I see it, she doesn't behave like someone guilty when you first met her, but rather, as someone innocent who was accused of something, much like Karla from DaS3. I deal with people like this every so often in my line of work, and for me it is crystal clear she's not who people say she is.
But hey, that's the beauty of these games' lore. It's ambiguous and up to interpretation. A little bit less well done in ER than in previous installments, but still.
Sellen actually helps Ranni (the current head?) so it looks like she doesn't hate the entire Carian family.
Probably out of ignorance, no one but you, Blaidd, Iji, Seluvis and maybe Rogier knows of Ranni's position.
Nah, she knows.
>Well, well... Seluvis is not a name I ever wanted to hear again...
>But, fine. If it will help you, my apprentice, I offer my knowledge. The stars alter the fate of the Carian royal family.
>And the fate of your mistress, Ranni. But long ago, General Radahn challenged the swirling constellations, and in a crushing victory, arrested their cycles.
>Now, he is the force that repulses the stars. If General Radahn were to die, the stars would resume their movement. And so, too, would Ranni's destiny.
>The way I see it, she doesn't behave like someone guilty when you first met her, but rather, as someone innocent who was accused of something, much like Karla from DaS3.
She doesn't even deny the accusations, you fucking idiot. She calls the Carians a bunch of pussies unwilling to make the sacrifices required to harness the primeval current and become a true glintstone master.
Guilty will often deny and hide the subject which they are guilty of, often avoiding touching that subject entirely. Funny of you to call me an idiot when you speak from such a peak of ignorance.
lmao esl-kun trying to sound smart
>I'm smarter because I'm american
She is familiar with Seluvis, and is familiar with Ranni's fate with the stars. That doesn't mean she knows Ranni is in control of the Academy. If she did, then either none of that makes any sense, Sellen is retarded, or the game's logic bent over backwards so Ranni can further her goals, all of which are believable.
In-game dialogue/content trumps 400iq takes on psychology.
I don't believe Sellen made all the meatballs, no.
>First you have to assume Jerren is saying the truth,
Why wouldn't he? He does nothing suHispanicious throughout the entire game.
>when he's her enemy and a servant to the Carian family, which hates her and are the accusers.
Why would anyone accuse or hate or consider her an enemy if she did nothing wrong? Is some invisible, puppet master 3rd party framing Sellen?
>Lusat and Azur didn't meatball themselves
The game doesn't say they were part of the graven coven or anything. They just got mindraped by peering into the abyss.
There's lots of unclear stuff in Elden Ring (and Souls in general) but IMO Sellen's questline is pretty straightforward.
>Why wouldn't he? He does nothing suHispanicious throughout the entire game.
He's loyal to the Carians.
>Why would anyone accuse or hate or consider her an enemy
Because she wants to overthrow them which she makes it incredibly clear by doing exactly that?
>They just got mindraped by peering into the abyss.
The abyss which is what turns people into mageballs, the source, the glintstone flow, whichever translation you prefer.
>a beautiful face
All I can see are trannies no matter what I look at
Yeah because you're mentally ill
you will never be a woman
>create a swimsuit ver of renni
>never use it
>employees fuck around in the character creator while making the game
>devteam picks out the best ones to hide underneath the masked character designs
>Dung Eater underneath helmet looks exactly like Distortions (famous Souls speedrunner)
So was it a coincidence or a statement?
I guess, sure. You can draw enough beautiful waifus with enough time. Plenty of online resources nowadays.
Not a single character in this amerilard-pandering chud game has tits.
I can save her
>Becomes a gamer
moron, it's just the same sliders you use at character creation.
You can go make an exact copy of her right now and run around naked if you want.
She's barefoot and that's all that matters to Miyasaki-san.
>AAAAAHHHH I'M GONNA HYPERFIXATE ON SOME MEDIOCRE LOOKING FEMALE SIDE CHARACTER
>AAH I'M COOOMING
I like being called her apprentice even though I have barely invested any points into magic-related skills.
those feet stand out like a sore thumb
sounds like a (you) thing
>already program in panties
>lock them out
Beautiful faces are the jap standard
does anyone else cringe a bit when they see someone unironically refer to hidetaka miyazaki as 'miyazaki' like he's some A-List writer
Maybe people refer to him as Myazaki cause that is his fucking name.
>does fromsoftware have autism?
How the FUCK do I get to the Volcano manor? I searched everything in that area and the only thing remaining is Fallen StarBeast.
You're getting pretty warm, then
So I have to defeat that thing? It's over then...
I don't think there's any boss wall preventing you from hopping across, but make sure you don't get rammed over the side in the process
There's not, you can skip right on past.
give up and beat the game without visiting volcano manor like me
guys ive been struggling with malenia and i finally broke down and bought pic related. how do i receive it though? i pirated the game so i cant use steam servers.
moron you couldn’t just farm the old ass dragon?
>buying runes with real money when Greyoll and the bird/albinauric method exists
Its just killing the big old dragon at the fort in caelid. Pop a gold pickled fowl foot, slap on the gold scarab if you happen to have it, smack the immobile dragon's tail with a bleed weapon for a few minutes. How have you not heard of it? I mean yeah its less rewarding than the bird shit but it's still something I thought everyone did at least once.
Ah that. I wouldn't really consider it "farming", you don't get that much out of it.
It's good for a first time player still in early game. Elsewise go for the bird or just do what I do and invade and hope for overleveled phantoms.
if you book it to the grace and rest before it fully dies it respawns and you still get the runes, apparently
100 million isn't even a lot
jesus christ you're a retard
she looks like a fucking chud, no joke
holy shit, you guys are blind and retarded beyond repair
She is literally the most attractive from soft girl ever. Basically top tier Instagram model. have a nice day.
