I doubt we will get a proper sequel to that series ever better to just play the old titles modded. I am sure you remember when they tried to turn Brothers in Arms into some whacky hero shooter called furious four or some shit? Yeah we can expect that and worse from current day Gearbox, damn i miss how they added some historical info that you could look up after beating the missions on certain difficulties but they already toned that down a lot in Hells Highway.

I'd give anything to have Red Orchestra 2 be alive again. It was good game. The only servers active now are European which are too high ping for me and even they not full.

I've just been playing Hell Let Loose which is fun but all depends on you ending up in a voice active squad.

Tried Day of Infamy again but that game is dead with less than 20 players. Plus source engine physics for it don't hold up as well as Insurgency Sandstorm which is still kino.

not that anon but I heard of it from Ganker
even if it ends up being the perfect mod it will all be for naught if it won't have an healthy player base. considering it's a mod it may end up with being completely dead on arrival

True enough, that was the fate of Talvisota and Heroes of the West but then again Darkest Hour on the other hand manages to be somewhat alive even if it is just one server in the evening that is still enough to play the game.

I played heroes of the west at launch and it wasn't dead on arrival at all, just imbalanced

I played it on launch too but it died rather quick and is actually fully dead according to steamDB, like 1-2 players max that fire it up every now and then DH on the other hand gets around 100 in the evening and a bit more during weekends. I do hope Black Orchestra manages to cultivate a playerbase that sticks around like their Discord does have around 1k people in it but in the end not all of them are going to be players.

Saving Private Ryan: The Game definitely benefited from a professional film composer weaving motifs through the entire score.

I should get a rip of the game soundtrack. The official release compiles it down to five tracks which drops a lot of ambiance.

There was an official mp3 album released at the time with 17 tracks. Never played the first PSX games but it seems to share a lot of music with those soundtracks, though the AA variation of the main theme is the best one IMO.

COD 3 isn't exactly a great game, like

CoD3 boring outsourced slop with no soul but you got to play as a canadian and a pole in a WW2 game which is pretty neat and the multiplayer was surprisingly good

said, other than those few features it's poorly made and a buggy mess for most of the time, specially if you had the PS3 version.

It had a low spread of locations you got to fight in but the missions themselves and their layouts weren't badly designed, but the last half was definitely weaker and it sort of just ended abruptly at Chambois

Well there is Battlefield 1 but i don't find it very immersive in any way its just Battlefield with the theme of WW1.
You got stuff like Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo but the average player doesn't want to play with Bolt action rifles and would rather play with some sort of assault rifle or smg the same reason why games with muskets are rather niche.

Something good could be made inspired by WW1's unique "mechanics." I think of a strategy game involving the design of trenches, unit deployment, bombardment, tech trees, etc.

        >the average player doesn't want to play with Bolt action rifles
I think of WW1-styled Brothers in Arms or Full Spectrum Warrior. Or maybe the player isn't squad leader but is instead a gunner so they can have that full auto satisfaction. Have on-the-move sequences mixed in using semi-auto sidearm. Perhaps trench-clearing sequences using shotgun and grenades. There's plenty that can be done.

          Anonymous

WW1 styled brothers in arms would be neat like over the course war you gradually get to see how your squad changes and maybe closer to the end of the war you also get to be a trench raider seeing new equipment and tactics but it would require a dedicated studio to not add some stupid garbage to it aka turning it to some shit like CoD Vanguard where it turns into some cringe powerfantasy of the writer.

If you like a pseudo RTS first person shooter with a story tacked on in WW2 then sure i personally prefer the first two games but that doesn't mean the third one is overly bad or anything it also ends on a cliffhanger.
