Eh.
Uh oh, better watch out, op. This guy might call you a tendie.
What? No. Monster Hunter jumps between systems all the time. I go where monhun goes.
BING
I hope more people find out that his spirit bomb mechanic is a DPS race. It’s fun to go apeshit on him when it forms so it can bomb him instead
Worldbabs don't even realize consoles used to be falled "monster hunter machines"
Wish it was a water mizu though
This
My favorite part is his fricking orb and how he can attack trying to bait you into dodging at wrong time
The design is bland, especially for a rare species. Fire element has been overused in SUB and for Mizu variations. There was every reason to assume the fight would be shit, it was a pleasant surprise it was GOAT.
The choice of arena really doesn't help his design. The lighting of infernal springs makes the white scales appear pinkish which makes him look more like a Mizu variant. His follower quest is in the forlorn arena at night which really allows him to look blue like he should've. Still should've had more of a drastic color change nonetheless.
its an average fight with a bland design, it's literally not even the first time "mizutsune but fire" was done lmfao
This is the first time mizu has been actually been "mizutsune but fire" though
>Jho
>Bazel
>Rajang
>Magna
>Gore
I hope they make all 5 the Invasive Predators from now on. idk about you but I don't miss Jho being in every fricking hunt in 3.
idk if you noticed, but all 5 of those also have a variant
forgot one
I GOT YOU BRO!
>He's MINE to kill, you overgrown ape!
I'd like there to be a monster who explicitly helps out the hunter against other monsters and obviously wants a symbiotic relationship with humans, but you have to hunt it anyways cause it has valuable materials and the npc's are too stupid (or willingly ignorant) to understand that it's friendly or just think it's ugly.
It would spend the first part of the fight just crying and trying to get away from your attacks, only damaging you by accident, before it finally gets pissed off and spends the rest of the fight raging. It's most common drop is it's tears, and the rarest reward is a gemstone it picked intending to gift it to you. "Unrequited israeliteel" or something like that.
It's an urgent quest and specifies slaying it that time so you have to kill at least one to proceed.
Make it an Elder Dragon too, good luck trying to not murder one when traps don't work
That's a good idea. It should also make no sense for it to be an Elder Dragon. Low-mid tier ranking, no particularly mystical features. It's ED status is obviously arbitrary so that traps won't work
Anon....
What do you think felynes are?
>Rajang just simple takes a hit from low ranking ed
I really can't take rise seriously
Shit just breaks immersion
Invaders are just an outright terrible idea that should be scrapped. I don't know how anyone enjoyed them (the concept/mechanic not the monsters themselves) since all it translates into in gameplay is that the monster appears so often that you start to actively dislike whenever it appears, and it doesn't help that the invader types are also generally considered endgame monsters so you fight them a ton as regular quest spawns too. More irritating is that they also have their own themes so you get a constant switch between the tracks and never get to enjoy either.
Invader monsters used to just be in soecific quests and it wasnt always the most powerful shit like jho. It was just another monster that you might encounter. World turned it into some gay forced cinematic encounter everytime theres an invader in the map. Bagel was literally programmed to fly to you and cause a 2 minute long roar war whenever you encountered the quest target
Any quest that had an "unstable environment" tag had a chance to spawn tougher shit than what you could normally fight at that quest rank.
There were quests that had guaranteed spawns like all those easy bait gathering quests where you get jumped by Tigrex or Rajang or whatever but it wasn't limited to just those quests.
The way Rise has handled invaders is a problem in the complete other direction from World always having 3 monsters on the map though, monsters dropping everything to bonk each other or just fricking off feels super lame and scripted after you see it a few times and it's gonna happen twice every hunt. The only way to get the shitshow experience is the quests where the monsters all spawn into a one room arena.
I do kinda like how they did a reverse invader thing with Rajang where he is in some remote corner of the map and you can actively seek him as an extra powerful secret mount. Other than that, i also dislike how rise handles invasions, however i'll take scripted monster walking in and getting mountable in a hit over Tigrex screaming at Ebony Odogaron for a whole minute
Pre-5th gen invaders were fine and actually functioned as the "wild card" mechanic they were supposed to.
I think it only became annoying with bazelgeuse "cheating" and always interrupting your fight
Isn't Seregios an invader too?
is combustible oil a good lube? asking for a friend
Violet Mizu is fantastic but the game being incredibly oversaturated with fire monsters already does put a damper on it a bit. Still a great fight though, I think I like it a bit more than regular Mizu.
>fought him 7 times
>he only used the Spirit Bubble once
>it carted me because I wasn't expecting the vacuum
>Violent mizutsune
>Hasidic Glavenus
>Shogun hermitaur
>Rise Kushala rework
>Velkhana
>Rise Chameleos rework
>Namielle
>Malzeno
>World Alatreon Rework
Has the 5th Generation of Mon Hun handled the Kushala skeleton better than any other generation?
Except Lunastra. She needs work.
We need Ruko and Estrellian
As good as most everything else is, none of it makes up for the abomination that was World Kushala
Elderseal and their war on flashbombs were bad fricking choices for a game with Kushala in it.
They should just left the poison weakness in and it would have been fine.
are people really shitting on violet mizu when the majority of old subs were just
>exact same fight BUT one of the moves works slightly differently
Why they keep bringing back Blue Rath is beyond me. It's the most blatant shovelware I've ever seen.
Because Rathalos and his wife have VIP Passes into the roster of every game and Azure is an easy way to pad the endgame
Flagship status plus Pink rathian is some scalie's fetish on the dev team I presume
A ton of the earliest subs don't even have unique moves as far as I can tell. I literally couldn't tell you what the actual difference is between Rathalos and Azurelos or Diablos and Blackblos.
Worldbab here, Blackblos had that quick roar into stupid fast charge move.
But you've completely got me on Azure.
He's good, but why no Palico or Palamute armor?
>tfw no prowlers
>no prowler
>no gauntlets
>no Chadnet Spike
makes me cry.
Only variants get extra armor for an existing monster.
What?
Haven't you noticed that subs or rare species dont get additional palico/palimute armor in rise? Only variant monsters do.
I thought they fogot them T-T
I can't beat the scorned one + malzeno advanced quest.
How I can avoid the dragonblight infused tail beam ?
The punished magna 3 hit combo? Roll the first 2 and superman dive the 3rd. The startup for the 3rd gives you more than enough time to sheathe.
Slot in Evade extender if you really need it.
>level 4 slots are still useless
just give me wex and attack 4 already
>not slapping in a wide-range 4 for the boys
There is a surplus of relevant level 4 decorations
I think what you're meant to say is "I can't be a mouthbreather and put the best offensive skills in every single slot I'm provided with"
>focus
>crisis
>razor sharp
>protective polish
>power prolonger
>crit element
>rapid morph
>element attack +4
The problem with most of those is that they are better on armor pieces + quirio crafting.
they are not, because they are much more efficiently slotted
what are you talking about Black person, they are great and plenty.
Honestly I don't even need more, or it just triggers my dps autism
>evade extender
>guard up
>wirebug whisperer
someone mentioned handicraft+2 exists now
>better on armor pieces/qurio
You can get CB or Wex as qurio skills,
probably more likely than rolling for a specific skill on a single piece.
Ideally you roll one skillpoint on a piece and than you can max it with the level 4 deco. There are plenty of level 2 slots
extender
up
You don't want two levels of the former and you don't need two levels of the latter
however, i still find myself using Hard Grinder on some sets without enough lvl 1 slots
>You don't want two levels of the former and you don't need two levels of the latter
stop posting anytime
>You don't want two levels of the former and you don't need two levels of the latter
moron
>someone mentioned handicraft+2 exists now
Yep and it makes weapon that require 3 points of Handicraft much more accessible.
Maybe for peabrained minmaxers
Shut the frick up you stupid c**t
>he doesn't run Wide Range and have his healing others shoutout be "cracking open a cold one for the boys"
ngmi
Is Flaming Espinas a good Hammer set?
Maybe if you're running Courage Hammer
Using intrepid heart to bruteforce strong charges sounds fun
How long will it charge on a hammer though?
I can only picture using it with gunlance because every piece of full burst and every element of bulelt barrage counts towards it
I don't know why don't you find out bucko
It's hilarious on GL, even Wide bullet barrage charges the meter by a like a quarter. The dps from IH2 is probably enough to drop Sneak 3 to 2 too if you use it offensively
Is rise actually good bros
yeah
I really didn't enjoy base Rise that much. It was fine, good for an HR game even. Much like every single MH game, the G-rank really steps it up. Also the game looked like shit on switch because the brightness was set far too high and everything was washed out to hell and the Sunbreak update fixed that.
Base rise is underwhelming. Sunbreak is 10/10
>Sunbreak has continuosly BTFOing this board
Sunbreak introduces some nice looking monsters, but the gameplay isn't very good. The next game will probably be better, so don't give up hope on the franchise.
>can't spam poses rapidly anymore
WHAT THE FRICK
WHY
Because it was linked to a rare crash and the devs are too moronic to fix the actual issue.
They could've at least given it a shorter cooldown since now it's so slow that even just using poses for photos is a pain
what defines "rare" species and why isn't flaming benis considered one despite being extremely dangerous compared to it's regular version? you even meet it in an arena like metal raths and lucent narga
Because he's not that rare, I guess. The real reason is that he was introduced as a subspecies back in Frontier over a decade ago and normal Espinas was already considered on-par with Kushala so his sub would therefor be strong as frick. Brown Penis was also fought in the tower in his original incarnation.
damn so he was actually downgraded in SB?
It's more just Kushala in specific that Espinas stands against since Kush is super weak to poison and Espinas' whole body is full of it. Moreover, they share the same general habitat in the form of the great forest. He even has a unique turf war with Kushala in Sunbreak.
>what defines "rare" species
Being a subspecies, but rarer
>why isn't flaming benis considered one despite being extremely dangerous compared to it's regular version?
Partly semantics, but also the fact that he has a Rare species now. When Flaming Espinas first came to Frontier, the first more difficult recolor was arbitrarily called subspecies, even if another title would be more accurate (i.e. Black Diablos would be called a variant if it debuted today)
>what's the difference between anomaly quests and investigations?
Anomaly Quests have set strengths and conditions for their target, an Afflicted Monster. They give the lowest tier of the monster's Afflicted material at the highest rate, but nobody does them because they give no Investigation Coins.
Anomaly Investigations have more random conditions, including additional targets, less time, less allowed carts, and differing locales. They also have a "level", which increases as you do the same quest repeatedly, increasing difficulty and rewards. You get more Investigations randomly by picking up Qurio-infested harvest points and breaking monster parts during an Investigation.
>what does augmenting armor and weapons do?
Augmenting armor will roll some random skills and stat bonuses for the piece, with less powerful gear having better odds at getting good skills. You can reject the roll if you don't like it, but it will still consume the Amber Essence you paid.
Augmenting weapons will boost its traits based on a deco-like slot system; common effects include boosting raw power, element power, affinity, sharpness, and its Rampage Deco slot.
>Investigation Coins?
You get them for completing Investigations, naturally. You get more for completing higher-level quests, or ones with more targets. You can trade them to Bahari (the scientist) for stuff like Mantles.
>Amber Essence?
Another Investigation reward. They come in multiple tiers, and you use them to augment armor.
so what the frick are the point of quests when investigations exist?
1. Completion autism
2. You get more of the base tier of afflicted mats (gee I sure need Afflicted Shells, but my Investigations keep giving me Carapaces)
3. If you accidentally deleted an Investigation for a particular Afflicted monster, completing its Anomaly Quest will give you another one (of the minimum possible level for it, but w/e)
why can you even delete them
so should I just stop doing quests altogether and only do investigations?
also what the frick happened to apexes?
>why can you even delete them
So you can get bad ones out of your list since you can only hold 120. Yes, they'll delete themselves over time, but this gives you more control.
>so should I just stop doing quests altogether and only do investigations?
Probably? I'd say complete each Anomaly Quest at least once for the checkmark, but investigations are much more rewarding (and you're going to want a LOT of coins, since not only can you buy mantles with them, there's a guild card award for spending 3000 of the fricking things.
>also what the frick happened to apexes?
Dropped off a cliff. They still exist, since Apex Arzuros and Rathian can show up as additional targets in Investigations (with the rest presumably to follow in future TUs), but the devs presumably don't want to keep getting complaints about them not having armor sets. They also have the lore excuse that "the Rampage is over, so Apexes aren't as prevalent now", so there's that.
what are the bad ones I want to delete
Just stuff you don't want to do, like shitmons you don't like hunting or ridiculous modifier like 25 min 1 cart two rajangs
Ones with modifiers that you really don't want to deal with, like "cart once and gg"
Ones that are outclassed by another investigation you have
Ones that are so much lower leveled than your average that they aren't worth doing
But really, any quest that you don't see yourself doing ever
At this point there is basically no distinction whatsoever. They should honestly just do away with it and let monsters have as many subspecies as they feel like.
They basically have for boxart monsters. There's five? distinct Zinogre fights at this point and four different Mizus you could fight.
I mean Mizu is a somewhat special case. He comes out after Seregios who has had fricking nothing but 4U apex
I still think we'll get a Seregios sub at some point before Sunbreak is over, never got his actual final weapon designs
Steve deserves a sub or variant already, please capcom.
Enjoy your your fire steve sub :^)
I'll take it
>flaming steve uses the pinecones from the orange monkey so you bleed and set on fire
If a monster is of a high enough threat level, his subspecies will rival other rare species, just like Stygian Zinogre in World.
Also, he already has a rare species in Frontier, and a monster always gets a sub species before getting a rare species.
That was until Violet Mizutsune was a thing, but it makes sense if you consider the gap in power between normal Mizutsune and Violet and the fact that Violet is designed as a special encounter and not as a replacable subspecies
Makes me wonder how other members of the fated four will be treated in future 'Portable' MH games. I hope Acid Glav comes back because his crystal tail looks cool as hell and I'd love him being bumped up in threat level. I wish they weren't so afraid to bring back deviants because boltreaver has a great color scheme.
Man, Acid Glav existing at all was probably the biggest surprise of Iceborne. I just kinda accpeted they wouldn't get any subspecies since GU completely dropped subspecies altogether.
I suppose they got deviants, but i'm still longing for a subspecies for the other ones.
At least rare mizu is really fricking cool, but i'd still like to see a normal subspecies, maybe one based on ice that slides around?
I felt like IB does better job on Sub's compared to SB.
IB Sub felt more unique with some are outright superior. Honestly i don't know why SB sub's felt the same
I like Bob and Magmadron, but yeah not the greatest pack of subs
A fire monster getting a fire sub doesn't help.
Pyre Rakna should have been para so we could get actually good para weapons.
>good para weapon
I think devs are scared af about Para because that doesn't explain why we basically never get good para weapon and why no Elder ever gave real para (the pony had the dual blades I think, and big snake weapons have pitiful para, but that's it)
I use volvidon sa, and it actually procs around two times per hunt solo
They fear the power of Deathprize and Highest of Glaives
because theyre all fire monsters
even the fire spider got a fire subspecies that's got more fire
Real answer here. Rare subspecies comes after subspecies. Simple as that. It means a Mizu sub has already been created somewhere.
Bonus trivia:
Other games like Frontier, MHO, and Explore have other terms for subspecies like burst, lone, origin, etc. but they all just mean that normal subspecies and rare subspecies are used by mainline.
It's really as simple as that
because Flaming Benis is an already existing monster and that game has already labeled it as a Subspecies. Benis also has its own Rare Species
I haven't played in forever
what's the difference between anomaly quests and investigations? what does augmenting armor and weapons do?
Are raw (status) DBs a thing now?
>flaming benis gunlance and bow are both useless
why is capcom like this?
also I have one (1) mantle and it took me forever to get
is that exclusive skill any good or should I just make a weapon?
usually the armor that requires the mantle is one of the best pieces but the pants don't look too special
I'm just saving mine for the next update monster whose set will inevitably require 5 different mantles (like Violet Mizu).
but you'll be able to buy it with good boy coins by then
You can upgrade to a spicy Espinas weapon without needing a mantle (maybe you need a normal mantle depending on weapon type). Intrepid Heart is a fun skill, and boots are efficient enough if you have something to put in the 4 slot.
>It's actually a top tier fight
My ass, the fricking thing won't sit still and fires homing missiles at you.
Yomogi
any yomogi plush owners here?
My wife Yomoggers.
SEXOOOOOOOOOOO.
Making lots of babies with Yomogi to repopulate Kamura!
Yomogi should be busy repopulating the kingdom of Tsukito tbh.
Nah, Tsukito will stay a dead kingdom like castle schrade. Yomogi is busy having lots of sex with my Hunter in Kamura.
Sunbreak and Rise proves how hypocritical GankertendoGaf is. Shit on MHW all those years for casualizing the series when those games causlized it even harder.
Base MHW sucks and Iceborne is great. Base Rise sucks and Sunbreak is great. Suck my espinas.
base games really shouldn't be released in the west
Can't wait until MH goes back to the mainline games on real systems. World 2 can't come soon enough.
All playstation games will be coming to PC day one from now on lol.
Agree anon I cannot wait for the launch of mh endless on pc. Hope it ends up being a long term mmo-like game like frontier
Tendie falseflagging to make snoys appear worse than them
Oh boy, literally my mom's t-rex. How exciting.
they should bring him back as a rare species
Just give Molten some of his moves, just like they did with some of the other sub/rare species
The ground eruptions would make perfect sense on Molten too
With how a rare species like Silver Rathalos took Dreadking Rathalos' meteor attacks and regular Astalos taking Boltreaver's big dick lightning sword, I can see that happening.
As somebody that couldn't be bothered to Deviant grind, what was Grimclaw's gimmick?
Grimclaw was truly a great Tigrex because it took after Brute Tig more than regular Tig.
Lots of roaring, lots of stomping around, and the fricker was huge too.
some of the deviants were the best content in the game, you missed out
Keyword: some.
Deviant Rathalos, I don't even remember his stupid name, can go suck a dick.
Silverwind, Soulseer, Grimclaw, Drilltusk and Hellblade were the only ones I bothered to hunt. Or rather, they were the only ones I had the patience to hunt. I'd argue that the Deviants are actually all bad because of the absolutely batshit moronic system they were placed in. Deviants should have just been regular fricking hunts, not the insane shit they added.
It's a lot of fun.
you should also fight bloodbath, boltreaver and rustrazor. a lot of the gen deviants were meg but GU stepped it up massively. they also removed most of the awful grind, it's just 5 hunts instead of 15
Oh, and I grinded Deadeye too. Deadeye was the best Garuga before World Garuga.
Yeah, I played GU, and I appreciated only having to do 5 hunts. But it pretty much meant I'd never go through Rathalos of any of the vanilla hunts after getting to G-Rank.
How the hell do you even unlock Bloodbath?
>How the hell do you even unlock Bloodbath?
do every G1 deviant quest exclusive to GU, pretty easy. it's one of the best fights in the series, I love him so much
Oh, that is pretty easy. Might boot GU up again at some point, but I'm having too much fun with Rise.
Big stompy Tigrex with POWAH WAYVE
No real gimmick other than extra aggressiveness and size, Added extra bigger boulder projectile types, added big fist slam/shockwave move and i think one other enraged around the world slap
>tfw too big for 5th gen
just make some larger areas to fight in please capcom
>It's actually a top tier fight with good armor and weapons
I'll give you the armor and weapons being good, but the fight is just okay to annoying.
WHY CANT I SPAM THE POSES?!?!?!?
Did I miss something with this fight? I carted twice to fire espinas but beat fire mitzisune easily with 0 carts
Hammer
Which Violet Mizu weapons are actually better than the available selection though? I can only think of GS and LS.
They're pretty much the go-to raw weapons now.
>They're pretty much the go-to raw weapons now.
Violet Mizu weapons have shit raw though? Their useful gimmick is tons of purple
You have to consider the slottage too. They get +2 Attack boost for free compared to most other weps with just a single medium slot.
But they only have size 1 rampage deco, so they lose the 5% racist bonus. That said, they're still rather comfy if you don't care to switch out decos each hunt or want to deal with prot polish.
You can augment for it.
And you can augment +raw on actual raw weapons that don't have to deal with that shit
The next TU will add another augment slot, so they'll only be losing out on +5 raw.
80% my ass, also the frick does the yellow icon means?
I think it means multiple rolls
That's the tail. Cut off the tail and if you carve it, you have an 80% change of getting the tail. You aren't getting it by carving the body though.
The yellow mark indicates that you have to fulfill a specific condition for that chance. For the carve chance for tail, it's carving the tail specifically, while for the Violet Mizu Mantle, the break chance applies to breaking the head specifically.
The yellow box means it has multiple ways it can drop under that category. The mantle for example is a 3% head break or a 2% tail break. It's also a 3% carve rate from tail but 1% from body.
Why didn't they nerf the dogs in SB
There are dogs? I always use two cats.
>
So how bs was the ruko leak
Complete bs
Shame, he's great.
I wonder what element his weapons would be if they added him, since I doubt they’ll add magnet weapons for one monster.
There are so many monsters now that new elements and statuses aren't an unreasonable thing to expect.
He'd proabably get a gimmick weapon skill
Magnet status effect wouldn't be that crazy, there's already monsters with succs that pull you in
What frontier monsters would you guys like to see? I really want them to add Akura Vashimu and I think Barlagual is likely for a future game since it got a localised name for some reason.
Both of the ones you mentioned along with Gogomoa and Pokkaradon
I'd much rather have some MHO kino like Disaster Wyvern and Estrellian.
Well, Estrellian isn't kino but he's the only Kushala without wings. There's a lot they can do with that.
Also I didn't know succbro got a localized name that's cool.
Hey I was gonna shill for Estrellian
There's also Slicemargl I guess, or the beaver Caeserber as a starter mon to train people with
It’s a good localised name too (to me at least), pretty much just romanises it makes it not a massive mouthful to say.
I hope more frontier mons get localised soon, some have such complicated names.
Barlagual is its localized name thanks to Capcom online TCG Teppen along with Explore God Eater Elder Dragon
WHERE IS IT CRAPCOM
Don’t forget Jebia either, if they put one in we’ll probably get the other.
Meraginasu
Shantien
Odibatorasu (still have no idea why he's not in mainline yet, he's literally the sand counterpart to Ukanlos and Akantor)
Rukidiora
That crystal leviathan
Barlagual
Dhisufiora as an ultra secret endgame boss
I want Duremudira but it would require a level of power creep that I don't wanna see in the main series
After actually playing the game. Rukodiora, Gasura, Bog, Odi. My favorite fight is actually Zenaserisu but it would be absolute cancer until they decide to fix rolling I-frames
Monster hunter needs more impactful part breaks
Not as in they feel good, but they have observable impact on the hunt, like barioth
99% of the time you cut a tail and it doesn't even feel like it got shorter
Barioth is the quintessential one of these, yeah. I wish it happened to Tigrex as well.
I liked in world Rathian's tail didn't poison if you cut it off. It literally neutered her but was rewarding especially since tailcuts on Pink Rath are kinda tough.
>I wish it happened to Tigrex as well.
The best method of fighting a Tiggy is breaking his claws, it makes him slip a lot and he becomes slower
>I liked in world Rathian's tail didn't poison if you cut it off.
Rath tails always worked like that iirc, one of the harshest part break effects
>Rath tails always worked like that iirc, one of the harshest part break effects
No, they don't.
World Rathian is the only one who can't poison from her tail after it's been cut off.
It does happen to Tigrex but only when he's not mad, once you're in MR the partbreak doesn't matter much cause he's literally never calm
>one of the harshest part break effects
that title goes to coral pukei-pukei
he is absolutely crippled after the tail is gone
Duramboros Tailbreak/cut is one of the most satisfying ones.
Basarios Tailcut probably one of the hardest
does the hidden poison stat even profit from status buffing skills
I really liked Velkhana's tail break where it would make a new tail out of ice that was stronger than the original, it was neat.
Meanwhile most monsters you break their tail and it just removes a little bit off of the end.
yeah I don't get why there aren't rath-tier tailcuts anymore
2 of the 3 lords only have breakable tails even though golm's should come clean off and mal gives you one itty bitty spike
>i died so you cohoots can live
Not bringing it back in Rise was a crime, MH6 or Portable 6th hopefully.
>portable 6th
>will simultaneously launch on consoles and pc too
>Not bringing it back in Rise was a crime
Frick no, the owl was just ass cancer to fight. Not fun at all.
Why the frick would you want a twichy Black person that jumps halfway across the area to spam aoe sleeps then fly into you to spam more aoes before going away
when should I start augmenting armor and weapons with the anomaly shit
also what's the best gunlances and switch axes?
As soon as you can, there’s no reason to wait if you have the mats. Weapon augments have no downsides and armour augments can be easily removed if you get a shitty one.
Can’t help on the second question, haven’t played those weapons in ages.
Weapons you should start asap since they don't rely on RNG and are just flat upgrades. For armor, I'd wait until you have a set with skills you're happy with and roll for things that are good QoL skills or extra slots. Don't go into the augments to minmax unless you're on PC and can just hack them in. The RNG is cancer.
BRING BACK DEVIAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTS
But apexes are in the game anon! You can fight two of them in Master Rank!
>DISGUSTING SCARRED UP SHIT COLORED PALETTE HALF-ASSED COPYCATS
>NO GEAR
>CAN'T EVEN GO ALL THE WAY AND ADD THE OTHER REST OF THE ONES THAT HAD DEVIANTS LIKE NARGA AND TIGGY
ABSOLUTELY SHAMELESS, CRAPCOM
So does Rise have something like Guiding Lands where I can just jump in and hunt forever
Citadel Expeditions can spawn any monster in the game.
Don't you get more rewards for doing dedicated quests instead of expeditions?
How much defense to tank a Valstrax laser? Assuming you can since you can tank Orange Espinas fireball.
>defense
Just run Dragon Res if you want to facetank it since it's pure elemental damage. The only defensive skills worth having is Divine Blessing and Defiance for the free earplugs.
Defense 7 is a flat reduction of 10%, plus an addition 70-100 defense. I have 820 currently, it absolutely makes a difference. Plus I don't need earplugs because I have intrepid heart.
Is Evade Window really not that usable without extender? Monsters have some really big lingering hitboxes
Haven't bought sunbreak cause rise was shit. Have they announced amatsu yet?
Still hoping to see something like Gogmazios as the final final monster for Sunbreak, Amatsu would be cool as like the runner up to the end like Alatreon was in Iceborne but I don't know about it being the last boss
I want a new monster
that would be cool too
Ahtal ka, we still need a mummy monster.
Honestly, Gaismagasm has the 'old and angry gore-clone' covered this game
I say, give Dala a chance and rework him
Gasima is fishy Akantor
I'm going to do it.
I will buy my own Yomogus plush
nice. I love mine so much but I haven't taken any photographs yet
be wary of the stuffing being a little odd in the head, I have to move mine to the lower part of the head to prevent weird creasing in the chin area
I want a Chichi plush too tbh.
Hurry your asses up Capcom.
We really need World 2 now. Rise/Sunbreak needs to be erased

Arzuros armor is underrated d e s u
I've always loved the look of both male and female arzuros armor sets. top tier semi-tribal hunter outfit
Nice sideboob
it has wonderful exposed armpits and modeled underwear
What color?
white
Was hoping it'd match the armor color scheme more, but classic white is a good runner up.

Holy shit I don't want to fight the stupid fricking rabbit game
i like the bunny he is cute
He's also really fricking annoying to fight since half his moveset is slides and is by far my least favourite out any earlygame monsters in Rise
He's easy but just not fun to fight
>not hard just not fun
lol okay big guy, if you say so
Bring a gunlance, stab him with a stake, watch him slide around like pfp pfp pfp pfp pfp pfp BOOM and crash into the snow.
I wish I could just get a fricking lv 100 lagombi. This whole system is cancer
Out-fricking-smarted
is there a better armor set for panty shots than the sailor outfit?
snsbros, rate my build
Solid starting out. You should probably grab a G Rank SnS soon though, because the raw will just utterly outpace Hi Ninja soon enough even with 100% affinity.
I know elemental is better damage-wise, but this is just the comfiest build. Does good damage, maintains uptime through prolonged poison, has infinite sharpness, and can Wire Step through anything.
Jesus still haven't gone full maximize skills atm
It's tough because I'm on Switch and my Qurious results haven't been super impressive. I usually swing for extra slots. The good news is, that set I have is mostly craftable by anyone as long as you have a somewhat decent charm (which I forgot to show). Mine's a Rapid Morph 2, 3-2-1, but with how easy it is to gem stuff in now, you really only need the slots. And the SA tax is pretty high--you could do a lot more with it on other weapons.
>no attack boost at all
???
>rapid morph
>buildup boost
>adrenaline rush
>foray
>burst
>poison duration doubled
>Phial Switch Boost
You okay mate?
attack boost is a skill you moron
Oh is it????? I'd never encountered that before in all my time playing Monster Hunter!!! Wow!!! Thanks for educating me, dear anon!!!
your build is shit
cope
>no Attack Boost
>build is shit
Go back to /mhg/ you fricking homosexual lmao
A metacuck, and not a very smart one either
Half of those skills are way more significant than attack up
I run a more braindead version which kinda waste Chammy blessing because it's exhaust, but not needing power prolonger does free up things
I've heard buildup boost makes Exhaust Axes just nutty. I'll have to try it again sometime.
I run a similar build, but with full Buildup Boost instead of Adrenaline; 10% more attack is more than the flat 30 from Adrenaline Rush.
am I missing anything not doing the event quests or follower quests
Followers got some weapons and armor that are pretty good
>Event quests
Nope. Just maybe some gestures. Everything else is bullshit stuff like titles.
You just have to look up the right ones to do for layered armors
The royal order weapons. They aren't exactly the best but do look pretty cool
Follower shit unlocks good armor pieces, especially for Switch Axe and anyone that wants Offensive Guard.
>its not a mizu reskin
but it is a mizu reskin, Black person.
Recoloring and lightly editing weapon models/armor and giving it a few different animations is not at the level of giving us a new monster.
Frick you dicksucking, Black person.
>not a single new monster
>THREE FRICKING TEXTURE EDITED MONS
TU1 was decent. TU2 sucks absolute dicks.
also the fricking israelites withheld weapon layering just so it could be a "novelty" later.
Thank god I have been using the weapon layer mod since fricking FEBRUARY
I rather have subs and rare as title updates than having popular returning monsters that should already be in the roster in TUs, why Brute Tigrex was in base iceborne but Rajang or Master Rank Kulve had to be on title updates, I understand having big bad monsters like Alatreon or Fatalis as the final title updates(something that wil likely be the case with sunbreak with stuff like Amatsu) but between the choice of the game releasing with more new monsters and early TUs having a better selection of subs and variants or having to wait for the new monsters that should have been a given in the main roster but are pushed to title updates, I rather have the first option, specially because sunbreak has one of the best selection of returning subs, variants and rare species with no wasted spots like Pink and Azure Raths, Red Khezu, Green Narga, Brute Tigrex and etc.
>and giving it a few different animations
the fight as a whole is very different from normal mizu tho
rise is the only fun monster hunter game
I've tried the others and they all suck
>don't have online to snag some
>keep getting exactly zero fun monsters to fight in Investigations
Kill me
Just realized Jhen and Dah'ren use the same animation skeleton as Ceadeus.
And Ibushi/Narwa are upsidedown Amatsu
They're probably closely related alongside gobul and niblesnarf
Since Sunbreak is Halloween themed and Iceborne was Christmas themed does that mean the next Monster Hunter dlc of the Next Monster Hunter game will be summer themed?

Underwater keeps getting confirmed
Bunny suit when Capcom?
>join a hunt when the monster is limping back to it's nest
>land one hit before it dies
>carve a Mantle
>get another Mantle in my rewards
It's funny to me when this happens people often won't give me likes, as if I was just sitting around waiting in order to take advantage of them and wasn't just randomly thrown into it via random quest join for SoS.
Likes are a moronic system and everyone should just give it to each other.
Frickin' around with a goldian cham set with brown espina weapons.
You've no idea how much I wish the Flaming Espinas axe had a power phial.
I don't know what delusions you have to have to claim Sunbreak is easier than any other MH game since it is objectively the hardest by a very, very wide margin. I haven't died to a Rathan since I was 12 years old in the original MH, but i just triple carted to one in sunbreak. The tracking is utter cancer. And I got bad RNG because this c**t would not stop fricking tail whipping, CONSTANTLY. Literally, constantly. In an 18 minute fight she flipped at least 200 times. I don't understand how she didn't just start vomiting from dizziness, she spent more time upside down than rightside up. FRICK. I can't fricking believe I just triple carted to a fricking rathian.
>the tracking was nerfed from when it was REALLY bad and anon still died
Oh no no no no...
>tracking was nerfed
I still believed this was never the case and everyone based this around one video.
You can't reliably walk out of all attacks.
If anything they made tracking more consistent.
you don't need it with any weapon anymore except maybe pizza cutter and SA.
Aside from counters every weapon got, all weapons have huge mobility or iframe skills now
>Lance, GL (blast dash, shield charge etc.)
>Hammer, IG, Bowguns, DB, SnS, LS never needed it
>GS is better off with QS
>dodge bow is actually way easier to play without
hammer absolutely needed it before the invincible dash it got
boy, Hammer has normal walking speed and roll.
How did Hammer warrant EE?
need was an overstatement but it absolutely benefited from it and a single point made a big difference. it was fine in older games but rise is filled with AOEs and erratic movesets
Shield Charge is ok but I don't solely rely on it for mobility since it eats a shitton of stamina and only goes a set distance
moron post
>Hammer, LS never needed it
Rolling across half of big arena anytime you want always was nice, it's just was a waste of skill slot until world
Evade extender in rise is like crack, don't knock it til you tried it
mr rathian is a pretty good shitter killer. you'd be surprised at how much the afflicted version kills online
just keep going at it, you're probably overcommitting too much when you should stop and dodge away before the spins or her moron run
Unironically how, the only monster I carted to was Malzeno and that's cause I was still using HR Valstrax gear since I wasn't gonna grind for G rank armor sets before I beat the game, something like Rathian is easy as shit
Honestly I fear apex rath in high level investigations more than the primary target
Do any of the other apex monsters besides Arzuros and Rathian show up in investigations yet? Imagine a level 120 investigation with apex Zinogre.
2nding this, as copium because I still want to believe Massacre Demon Blos will return and don't want to see his Apex
Are these stories games any good?
Stories 2 is fun and has more soul than world and rise combined.
They are absolute kino. 1 is older but has the advantage of changing the elements on your monsties which is cool. I’ve spent an absurd amount of time creating elemental monsties like Ice Silverlos, etc.
In my most honest opinion, Stories 2 is alright.
Fights are decently fun, the game looks good, it has a really solid OST and the big areas are nice.
However, getting monsters is straight out gacha and has no variety and almost all the side areas are just made out of the same den sections you saw a million times grinding eggs.
I like the deviant quests. 16 different type of quest per deviant, everything optional, a stern challenge solo, later quests also drop additional earlier tickets, interesting compound skill gimmick, added HA boost on weapons. It just gave the game more flavor and longevity
Deviant quests were ruined by the god awful ticket system and music for me. They should've divided tickets into low/high/G/X brackets and allowed you to freely choose quests within the bracket after clearing each quest once.
The times someone joined the lobby just to instantly leave since he needed 1 level below/above me was too high
>music
???
If it weren't for the 'only the host of the deviant quest advances in rank' horseshit, it would have been tolerable.
Non issue since it only happens once and the quests are designed for grinding.
Finally got a couple of miracle rolls on the inflamed penis armor so my comfy intrepid GL build is pretty much complete. Only spend 20-30% of every hunt on the monster's ass so the heart explosions should make up for the lack of Sneak Attack 3
>Good armors
Yeah some pieces are nice
>Good weapons
Lmao no
bros I just triple carted to a low rank Barroth in Tri
evade extender or evade window?
Extender is must have for 60% of weapons, and always nice for others
I believe it must be removed with how needed it is since world number of skills you could have inflation
window is alright but too situational, extender is almost always useful and pretty much OP. only weapon i can think of that shouldn't use it is SnS because of the backhop
Depends on your weapon and skill set
Though I don't see a reason to NOT use Evade Extender 1 on everything. 2 and 3 can be detrimental, for example SA wire step with more than 1 point of EE launches you too far away for the monster
I'd only use evade window if you have skills that activate on dodges. Evade window 5 basically turns your dodge into dark souls rolls but its expensive to slot in and might end up being a crutch. That being said status trigger, buildup boost, bladescale hone and evade window 5 is maximum fun on switch axe
How much of a deeps boost is foray with status boost?
I have a very comfy pure raw set with AB, CE, WEX, CB, Mail of Hellfire and Burst/Chain Crit. How much of an upgrade for a metaslave like me be with the new poison shit?
With rise's philosophy of having every weapon be close in terms of power given enough time all new weapons will start to feel redundant. Theres only so many combinations of raw/affinity/sharpness/element you can have while keeping weapons even. So my theory is most new monsters from here on out will have hidden abilities like the flaming penis weapons. They'll have traits in the description unique to that weapon which will make new weapons worth using without just having a linear power curve like in world.
It's not gonna be weapons, it'll be armor skills that shake up the meta for future TUs.
Expect Risen Teo to wreck the game once he drops.
they've already been doing that with armor since gaismagorm. Pretty much every armor set has a unique gimmick skill now, but weapons still feel samey.
Good direction, need to nerf WEX and CB though, or just remove CB and nerf WEX, or just remove both and go back to the days of Reckless Abandon and Sharpness.
WEX should remain the best skill because it encourages you to play better
I think it collectively helps the community by having everyone KNOW it's the one skill you should have and should try to use properly
CB can honestly disappear, as it's thoughtless and yet still extremely powerful
>play better
But that comes at the cost of attacking various parts. I feel gimped when I'm attacking the tail because my crit boost is half as effective and master's touch is not doing a shit since most tails are below .45.
You are gimped, but that's because it has an upside: You get a tail and the monster's tail attacks have a shorter range
Same as Uragaan's shitzone chin rewarding you with a goodzone chin after breaking, or Gravy's farts failing after wasting time breaking his back
But when you're done with those things, you go back to hitting weak spots for optimal damage
CB with just WE is a 6% damage boost, conditionally given you will never be hitting weakspots 100% of the time, sometimes because you can't sometimes because you're trying to break something that just isn't weak
Then add to that the fact a lot of weapons have components that just don't care for crits, or get most of their damage from element
Critical boost isn't the completely mandatory skill most people make it out to be
Nah, it really doesn't.
We're gonna be aiming for higher value hitzones WEX or not. All it does is limit set variety.
>3 skill points
>limit set variety
Come on now.
Well 6 technically since you generally won't use WEX without CB (outside of some exceptions).
It's not a huge limit, but it'd be dishonest to say you didn't see Jho Ceana, Silver Sol and Dreadking all over the place in past titles due to its strength as a skill.
>Won't use WEX without CB
You're completely backwards. Literally think about what you're saying.
Independent of anything else, 3 points for WEX is the best value you can get out of any skill.
Unironically this
With crit at 125%, WEX is a 12.5% damage boost for a 3point lv2 skill that require you to play the game.
With the added CB, it goes to 20% (so "only" 7.5% more)
on a 330raw weapon that exactly 41 raw (66 with CB), to compare dereliction lv3 at 3 stacks is 35 raw
The only thing that stop it from being 101% forced on everything is that some weapon got moves that can't crit
CB got way better in Rise
you get constant. There aren't even that many new skills that boost affi but, you get affi buffs from
>pets
>HH player
>bufferflies
>fish (ice map)
there are some solid weapon options with affi as well and off course augmentation
>CB got way better in rise
anon no
they took savage axe away and ransomed it back to you as a switch skill.
He's talking about Crit Boost
oh.
THAT cb
Yeah and then they gave it a bunch of other fun and useful shit, who cares about having one less resource to manage
Yeah I wasn't try to say CB is a bad skill, just that the real star of the show is WEX
If you consider that you can cap 100% affinity, adding CB give you a 12% boost (1.25 to 1.4), very huge (but still funnily enough slightly less the WEX)
Make it so it's like old WEX, with hitzone >44 getting +5. Still do what you said, but now CB can stay (and even be buffed, to be honest) with little to no problem
Maybe triple the damage of blast procs and increased crit damage while target is enraged.
I already hate how blast is the only viable element since 4th gen, but I would hate such insult even more
They lost a big chance when they made Rampage deco
Imagine if new monsters had slightly subpar stats, but a rampage skill that made em somehow different
Like Rathian weapons hitting extra poison after evades
Narga weapons to get a raw buff after evades
Mizu weapons getting extra evade/blocks when monster is in rage
Base Rise had that for elders
I'm not saying to remove the skills and add them to weapons, just that it's not "weapon can't be special, just stronger", but "they INTENTIONALLY decided weapon can't be special"
How do I get investigations for new monsters? I'm level 37 but haven't seen a single 3 star monster.
Anyone want to actually hunt? Finishing out HR5 and planning to at try to finish out the story shit before crashing.
Lobby: QRRH5L71rFf5E753

Adoptable-looking ass homie
>mfw discovering the joys of Embolden SnS
And just when I thought it was starting to get old too.
Shame Embolden is unusable online
Isn't Embolden just a mix of Guard and Evasion Window?
Because it stacks with Guard, SnS can get enough Guard levels to make Guard Slash work properly. So you can jump straight into Perfect Rush after getting the Guard Counter.
That sounds like a lot of work to be able to follow up with the same perfect rush as the one you'd get by just backhopping the attack instead
It's quicker and can benefit from Offensive Guard etc. Also it's just a fun playstyle.
But now it's like...3 pieces dedicated to it for embolden, 5 guard, 3 offensive guard, all to have a guard parry worse than one a lance has innately?
It just doesn't add up
>It just doesn't add up
Reread the last sentence of my previous post.
How do we will about EAs hunting game?
Play it and see if it's good, if it is then cool. Sucks about the EA part though.
So I have just started rise, what the hell's the point of the charged wide sweep
Also is the optimal route still stab stab stab counter repeat
Do hub missions no longer scale to solo levels?

>He isn't making unique layered outfits for each element
I want to but the layered system is really frustrating for that
You can't save appearances to individual weapons so you gotta do it manually every time you switch weapons/element
>Layered weapons are part of the layered loadout and not directly on the weapon
Fricking why
>Wants to farm for every weapon
Why?
you aren't playing monster hunter properly if you don't craft everything available to you before taking the next urgent quest
How does that even work with multiple weapon classes?
It unequips the layered weapon with a warning.
So if I have a set of layered armor I like I would have to save 14 variations of that fricking armor set with each weapon class?
Prease understandu
Yep. Layered set only can hold one type of weapon.
Can you at least link regular equipment sets and layered equipment sets?
The worst part is
>can't assign layered loadout to a gear loadout
Unless I'm fricking blind and can't find it
This is the reason I've just stopped using them. Why the frick would I bother if I need to first swap my weapon loadout and THEN go into my layered and swap my layered loadout too. Not even counting the fact that then I need to have a layered version for every single fricking weapon I use with every combination of layered armour. It's fricking tedious and horribly designed. How the frick can anyone say this dog shit system is better than World's? I absolutely hate it.
>need to first swap my weapon loadout and THEN go into my layered and swap my layered loadout too
no just highlight the gear loadout you want to use, press start, then pick the layered loadout.
This system works better if you have multiple layered using the same weapon. In world I have to farm and upgrade multiple copies of Safi GS because I layered them separately with rocket GS, Brachy GS etc.
That's still more than you should need considering World let you tie layered sets to equipment sets and simply equip them both at once so Sunbreak has literally no excuse here. Needing to have separate layered sets for every weapon is fricking inexcusable no matter how you think about it.
I already explained why I prefer this system. If I have a Fatalis GS with Rocket layered, all my loadout will have a Rocket GS. If I want my Fatalis GS to look like Velkhana without losing my Rockey layered GS, I have to farm a second Fatalis GS or go to the smithy pay him to change my layered everytime I change my mind? is that really easier than saving a different Layared loadout?
The solution is simple, have Worlds system but only make you need to craft it once to apply it to every weapon. It's that fricking simple. Sunbreak's version is way worse despite being better in 1 single way. Also yes World's way was better because once you've crafted it and applied it you were done. For Rise you will ALWAYS have that extra annoying step and hassle every single fricking time you swap weapon and if you're like me who changes weapon pretty much after every hunt, that shit gets old quick.
>is that really easier than saving a different Layared loadout?
Yes
>complains about fashion system
>tries to speedrun changing layered
>world was better
why do we have so many trannies here?
meds
nah keep the HRT to yourself
only weak minded metaBlack folk use layered.
MH chads don't mind it, MH chads are like
>yeah the weapon I'm using has suboptimal stats, so what's your point?
the metaBlack folk are all like
>nooo I don't like the weapon
You need to be 18+ to post here.
You do know you can have opinions on individual systems contained within the game without being some crazed fanboy right? Or maybe you don't with all this projection you're doing.
no If I'm using 5 elemental weapon and shuffle between 10 layered. Then that's all I need to save using Sunbreak system, 5 weapon loadout and 10 Layered loadout.
Using your system I have to save each element 10 times if I want different layered for each.
Then simply let us tie layered loadouts to equipment loadouts. It's not complicated. If you don't want to tie a layered load out to an equipment load out then you don't have to. The system would work exactly the same as it currently does except you now have an option to pick one and stick with it so you don't have to manually equip it every single time. Which is exactly how World did layered sets so why is it not a thing in Sunbreak?
SO Instead of clicking twice to equip layered, now you have click twice to Not equip a layered? dude, you are making all this complicated just because you dont want to click twice.
moron, you assign a layered option permanently in a separate menu, if you don't assign one you just equip it normally without changing anything layered. It's not complicated. You just don't get it.
That's still one more operation than if you could just link gear loadout to layered loadout
I don't know why they went backwards with this, when GU had it. Hopefully it's something they'll bring back the next TU
I miss 4th Gen IG hitsounds
I'm finally gonna build a PC for MH6 just so I can cope back to those days
Palamutes just look too much like regular animals and not cartoonish or humanoid enough to fit in as a buddy in Monster Hunter where you already got smart and useful cats doing that job.
I mean, they are below the Felynes in universe, so yeah. They're just smart dogs
Will Qurio editing mods break the save or be unsafe for future patches?
If modded upgrade passes the sanity check it should be fine unless capcom has something hidden in there they haven't checked yet but will in future.
Yea, I'm worried about that. But I really can't stand this shit. I've already got a lot of great upgrades, but going through hundreds of essences is just too tedious
The budget system is well explored for augments but you never can be 100% sure as the game has shit like preset charm and augmentations rolls to prevent savescum. The mod itself should have a check included for legit augments based on the current knowledge.
Risegays will defend this
I never play online, and so I never see this. Why would you ever play online?
This is exactly why I hate that the gameplay has devolved into countershit
Out fricking skilled
>connection problem
>it's r-rise fault!!
PUT THOSE FOOLISH AMBITIONS TO REST
I lost my creativity long ago and i have only one set for everything. Have only 3 layered armor set and nothing more.
Post more set
Rise is trash and will always be trash.
I could pass on the game involving the G/GU abomination that is arts and styles, but not only there is no pompadour, but what replaces it is the zoomer pompadour, and it's a paid cosmetic.
I can't let that shit fly.
Rise fixed the monster you posted
If you ever had an issue with non-Frontier Kushy then I have bad news for you.
Defending World/Iceborne Kushala, even indirectly, is a sure sign of brain damage
>t.Worldbab that never fought him in the old games

>it's okay to remove armors trinity effect
...is that a bait?
>it's ok to put back the og elder trio....but not chameleos, too goofy for out very serious MH game sir
He clearly doesn't care about gameplay anon
This is how I know you're a dirty Black person who hasn't played anything before 4U

I hate being an adult.
i stopped playing it on June, i remember there was going to be an update on August, can anyone share how much it added?
>the switch will keep dragging gaming through the mud with it's phone hardware
At least they'll try to bring it back. I need my LOL spam after a hunt.
If it was switch only they would put it on switch only duh
>risen chameleos
Holy shit, b***h carts people in seconds
probably the only one who made a Teostra set against him.
Some poison breath attacks don't even damage you anymore, only dangerous attack still is his explosion.
Its kinda funny. Didn't have much trouble fighting him without it but boy does he have a lot of health.
You can always grab the cobra too. Most of the people playing mh online really believe they're god's gift to monster hunter. I did a brown espinas hunt online the other day where someone carted, someone else in the lobby's message was "you need to upgrade defense" before they immediately carted themselves.
Nah, after second cart I decided to not take any chances and go full healbawd with wide, and still person died before I couldn't heal him
No way I play multiplayer hunt of him ever again
m-MAKING A SET FOR A SPECIFIC MONSTER?????
ARE YOU CRAZY?
WITHOUT ALL MY COOKIECUTTER META SKILLS??
unironically I was luckt because my Fire CB set use Teo blessing for the +15% fire damage and so it came with free antipoison
I'm glad the Risen verions look like they'll change the fights a bunch, shame only Elders are getting that
yeah a real shame we don't get Risen Volvidon
>17 minutes to kill Afflicted Zinogre with GS
I think I need to give up on the game
rise sucks
the mechanics suck
the nu-weapons suck
the casualization suck
the graphics suck
skipped this one and waiting for a mainline mh release because rise sucks
here is your World 2 bro
Do you guys think GS surge slash combo will make it back in the next Monster Hunter?
I fricking hope it does. Or at least marge the two.
If they get rid of switch skills, they could merge them by making button taps into surge slash and hold for the regular GS charges
Sadly I think it's 90% gone
BUT I think they may decide to not scrap the switch system alltogheter...so it may actually stay
Real problem with Surge slash is that I don't really see a way to make it a "side move" like other switch skills
-Unsheathe attack is charge attack by default.
-With weapon out, pressing attack+direction gives you surge slash
Wouldn't that fix it or am I missing something?
Seem pretty impractical, a wrong press/release would trasform a fast attack into a super slow one
Also unsheathe being automatically charge is just not good at all
I wouldn't want such a fricked up surge slash, to be fair.
Wait, lancers don't take chip damage even without perfect block?
On most attacks, no. Only the heaviest of heavy attacks. Unblockable attacks always deal chip damage, but its pretty take is you've got Guard Up 2 or more.
Or just use power guard/instablock
So, wanna talk about mh?
No, wanna complain about MH
Let's talk about Wild Hearts instead.
it looks interesting, but I really don't like growing/building platforms gameplay
SA and HH in every game except world because it ruined SA, so for world it was cb and gl
>mention SA ruined in world
>doesn't mention HH ruined in Rise
Kinda sus, not gonna lie
As one of few players who's aware how hh actually worked, I don't see rise changes as weapon being ruined, just changed too much. Just add more songs combinations per weapon and I would like it. While focus on sword mode or morf spam really fricked up SA in my eyes and ruined weapon's soul
Rise and SB SA is the best SA, it's not even up for discussion
World SA was for people who hate SA
Here objective rating:
SB SA>3u SA>GU SA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>4 SA>=unbelieveble garbage>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>IB SA
That's a really weird opinion since Rise and Iceborne swaxe are the same except for silkbinds and clutch claw.
>axe mode is now empowered too and actually does more explosion damage than sword
>You can empower axe for break damage
No, just no
Empowered axe mode was in Iceborne, but I'll grant that phials in axe mode are a nice addition, as are the new double morph attacks and other minor changes.
The two are still more similar to each other than to swaxe in any previous game.
Empowered axe started in Iceborne and Rise dropped the stagger increase from it until SB came out
Gets overwritten by amped state still though, sadly
I've been meaning to test that out, the tutorial says it increases stagger but there's no icon for it once you get amped. Does it actually remove it?
Can't really think of a way to test it without cheating in some stagger meters and stuff.
Yeah the buff still resets when you get amped cause in the base game all it did was make you amp faster
The extra damage bursts on amp do help with staggers anyways but having both to slap monsters silly would've been good
You say you don't like World SA for those reasons and yet like Rise SA that only doubles down on those things you apparently don't like? Have you even played the games you're talking about here? I think you might be off your meds anon.
Well, you clearly only played world
The only things that ruin SA's soul in SB are counter and mobility swords meter recharge
>While focus on sword mode or morf spam really fricked up SA in my eyes
That describes Rise SA much more than it does World SA.
What are you even talking about.
Axe mode stayed viable through all rise if you wanted
Morf attacks only became cool in SB
Can't say the same about world where you needed to stay in sword mode as long as possible, or ib that just added morfs attacks on top of it.
So now you're backpedalling and morph spam isn't an issue anymore? I don't mind if you prefer Rise SA to World(though saying World SA is the worst and Rise the best despite them being the most similar to each other compared to any other game is moronic no matter how you look at it) because I prefer it too but at least get your reasoning straight.
This is why we don't talk about MH.
Were is my "sensible chuckle" gif when I need it
I don't remember morf attacks replacing anything in SB, you literally can play SA they way you want
Can't say the same about IB where it was comparable with using box animations instead of weapon
>I don't see rise changes as weapon being ruined, just changed too much
I can't see the difference to be fair.
And mind me, I like Rise HH, but it's ot really HH anymore
The partisan brain just made you type some moronic shit
World SA is the best SA, though. Well, Iceborne, anyway
Depends, what weapon do you main?
>got the Chichae costume mod working with TU2
Holy based. How I missed my cute Scholar Chichi
I really wanted to play it as a filler, but first minute really tried it hardest to turn me off
Holy god damn does this make me appreciate the amount of work that goes into MH's animations.
you homosexuals promised me Yama Tsukami and now I have to fricking grind my way through MHFU to fight best boi again FRICK
So what's the most useful cat type
Gathering to cut out some grind. I generally use a gathering cat and a trap cat, the traps really help a lot.
Someone give me a good Foray based set that I can use with some Flaming Espenis weapons like Lance and DB, I love the idea of elemental + poison. I was really bummed to find out the poison gimmick does not apply to the Bow too and coatings suck wiener, mostly because of the low number you can take with you.
How the frick do you even fight Afflicted Rajang with GS? No counterable moves, fricking none.
>No counterable moves, fricking none.
What? Like literally all of Rajang's moves are counterable.
I mean with TCS
Man GSgays really got inflicted with brainrot after strongarm stance got added
>I can't just land strongarm stance TCS on every move this monster does?
>literally unplayable
What about OTHER moves, when you're waiting for the two moves that do let you TCS afterwards
They're not usable now because there's no window for them, considering how fast monsters are. And tackling is just going to get you killed
> And tackling is just going to get you killed
wow if only afflicted monsters literally gave you back health
You can absolutely land a strongarm TCS after Rajang's bodyslam
Bodyslam, spin, end of punch rush, blanka ball, 2nd psycho crusher, the turnaround uppercut, laser with guard up
t. Lancegay
Works fine on my surge slash ACS rage slash build :^)
all flaming espinas weapons are both fire and poison?
Why's the meowcenaries theme song better than the rest of the OST
It's a joke one off song for a farm stand in ffs
I have the buddy plaza theme set to play in all parts of Kamura. It should've been the village theme.
Charge Blade lads, how we feelin' about Embolden?
I struggle to land AEDs nowadays, but maybe this will help get more in
Also, I probably need to make a suite of Ele CBs and give up on Impact...
CB already has so much guard for free that using embolden to boost it further just seems meaningless
Violet Mizu waist+hands also gets you max Agitator and its more efficient than slotting Guard 3 in directly unlese they add a Ironwall 4 decoration
Maybe if you only play solo, I'd rather not have to eat a big AoE with a subpar guard
Embolden is up 95% of the time you'd want it even with 4 players
I've been using it extensively since the update, it lingers after the monster looks away from you.
I've been trying it with lance and it definitely doesn't linger long enough
Works on my machine
I only notice a heavier knockback like twice a hunt at most and usually its on something irrelevant like a roar
Embolden and the Mizu pants let me cram Agitator in my set eithout losing anything I had before so I'm pretty happy
Is the third point in Embolden worth it?
I don't want the V Mizu hat or chest, honestly
Mizu chest isn't great for Lance and I wanted to keep Blood Rite so I stuck with Malzeno.
Slap in a Ironwall 3 if you're lazy like I am to get Guard 5
I don't care! Stop making shitty bait webms! Frick off! Just talk about Monster Hunter!
>Just talk about Monster Hunter!
Didn't went very well last time we tried in this thread...
Lancebros what skills do I go for
Guard up, Guard, offensive guard, evade extender. Outside of that your your usual damage skills.
Offensive Guard 3, Guard 3-5 (from Guard or Embolden), Guard Up 1
After that just whatever. Blood Rite is nice.
1 point of guard up
At least 3 points of guard, 5 is overkill especially if you use instablock. The 3 is there in case you frick up the instablock.
1 point of flinch free if you ever hope to lance in multiplayer without hating your teammates.
Maybe some wirebug whisper depending on your switch skills
Offensive Guard if you can afford it but it is pretty expensive to deco in if you dont use an armor piece for it.
Then the usual damage skills.
Blood rite is also top comfy on lance.
>Offensive Guard if you can afford it but it is pretty expensive to deco in if you dont use an armor piece for it.
Non issue now that Mizu legs exist. 2 points of WEX and 2 points of offensive guard with a lvl 4 deco? Nothing is better than that. It's probably the single best piece in the entire game.
Yeah those legs really threw a wrench in the whole thing, and I'm going to need to remake my SnS sets now, I really like those Shagaru legs tho...
What should I Qurio augment for Kamura Hammer? Max out raw, or something else?
You should augment a soul and craft elemental Hammers
Raw attack is pretty much always what you want to augment for raw weapons. Affinity is easy enough to get and you don't need more than the level 2 it already has. You could go more sharpness if you feel it's running out too quickly with your build but outside of that yeah raw is king.
