>spent the first two games setting the reapers up as this unstoppable cosmic eldrich horror
>2 hours into ME 3 the games goes "btw we fond the blueprint for a weapon that can instantly kill all reapers at once at the press of a button. Now we just need to build it."
The story went to shit way before the ending.
>spent the first two games setting the reapers up as this unstoppable cosmic eldrich horror
2 mostly ignores them and then demystifies them with the moronic human reaper. 3 had to salvage that and was rushed as a result of 2 dallying in the terms of the main story line.
It was supposed to be:
>1. Exposition. Discover threat. First encounter.
>2. Invasion begins. Genocide. Hopelessness. United, traditional armies failed. Narrative low point. Small glimmer of hope at the end.
>3. Reapers won. Galactic Vichy France. Shepard is leading the underground resistance and defeats the reapers using a weakness that arises from their artificial, logical nature.
It turned out to be:
>1. Exposition. Discover threat. First encounter.
>2. Collectors??? Human supremacists??? Ocean's Eleven???
>3. Invasion begins. Genocide. Hopelessness. United, traditional armies failed. Narrative low point. Uhhh.... magic weapon I guess.
All they really had to do was somehow make the collector base or something beyond that relay the crucible equivalent. So silly.
2 never happened. you can skip 2 and the plot will still make sense. shepard herself would regret wasting her time doing what she did in 2
>her
are you gay? do you like staring at a dude's ass?
Troon detected.
Why do you focus on a man's ass?
This is moronic 2/3rds of 3 wouldn’t make any sense without playing 2.
>Who’s this Mordin guy? Why is he so important? Who was Maelon and what kind of data did he have?
>Wait Wrex is the leader of all of the krogan now?
>Who’s Legion? How can this geth talk and why does he want to work with me?
>Who are all these Quarian admirals that this game expects me to recognize? They barely have any screen time.
>Who is the Illusive Man? Why is Cerberus so important when they were just in a side mission in the first game?
>Why is Liara suddenly the Shadow Broker now? What happened to the other one?
>What’s Omega? Why is a whole DLC set there? Why is this Aria chick important?
And countless other examples. Anti-2gays only care about the surface level Reaper plotline and don’t care about any of the subplots or characters that 2 introduced and developed.
If you play 3 without playing 2 none of these are issues.
This is cope.
My point is that 3 carries over those side stories and characters but morons keep parroting that it contributed nothing to the story.
I'd rather all that were explained in comics, but pls undo the whole cerberus and the human reaper thing
Why did you write so much moronic shit just to admit that 2 fumbled the main plot while having great side stories and characters? That's already the consensus.
People just don't want to admit that it's the main reason why 3's story was rushed.
>surface level Reaper plotline
lol
Why would anyone play 2 ans 1?
Imagine how kino it would have been to have Punished Shepard at the beginning of 3 using the star chart to attack the Reapers wherever he wants, supporting local Resistance groups of various races across the Milky Way and investigating for a way to shut down the Reapers permanently
I mean what else could they do? Never write a unkillable enemy
2 hours into the game you'd discover that they don't know how to build it or what its for. but I agree the crucible is shit and for some reason was given more emphasis than you know, uniting the whole galaxy
They never shouldve abandoned the dark energy story they were going to tell about the Reapers. I wonder why they thought this macguffin would be a better idea.
Because the planned dark energy thing had the same reaper moronation
>mass effect eezo usage is creating the expansion of Dark energy and acceleration of universal degradation
>Reapers funnel every race for millions of cycles into eezo usage, causing the acceleration of said issue
No. ME1 was great. 2 and 3 were an embarrassment.
nah man, the game is straight up POOP. its bad from the start.
played the legendary edition and I got the plat on ME1 and 2. Started 3 and was reminded of how shit this shitty game.
I wish the dark energy/acceleration of universe destruction plotline was kept.
And the reapers shouldn't have started already wiping out earth, the game should have literally been building the army to meet them before they get to the citadel or something, with the player detonating further mass relays in front of them to slow them down with Paragon plays being losing resources to evacuate early and Renegade plays waiting to the last second to cost Reapers more, so Paragon players ended up with a bigger fleet, while renegade players faced reapers that had already been slowed down and damaged by the speed bumps you left in the way or something.
Nah, that plot line also had a moronic plot hole
Story really fell apart honestly and you can barely talk to any of your crew
1>3>2
so in a sense you are right
the powergap between 1 and 3 is massive tho
Talking to Sovereign is still the high point of villainy for the whole series and nothing the reapers do after that lives up even remotely to the threat presented in that scene and it makes me sad.
That point in the plot felt so cool the first time through.
>On disc DLC
>Origin
>Shit ending
>Shit new characters
>Straight up shooter not even an RPG anymore
>Illusive man went out like a b***h
>Baby Sephiroth
>Kills bioware
>Every game EA made after it sucks ass
Nothing about ME3 was good.
no, it was quite bad overall.
Shepard, Garrus and Tali deserved better games
Is it just me or Garrus is not a very good character? I always thought he was amazing, but replaying the series with LE changed my view on him quite a lot. His character arc goes nowhere (He always ends up on Omega in ME2 and always gets to be military advisor in ME3, unless you got him killed), he never plays any major role in the story, unlike Tali and he never fricking shuts up about "muh old times". EVER. Why people still like him again?
Esl, opinion discarded
>Tali always ends up completing her pilgrimage and always ends up an admiral
What is your point? He is instrumental to Palaven even having an immediate response
Literally nothing on Palaven changes if he is dead.
>on palaven
You moron
>he doesn't read anything
Figures
>Tali always ends up completing her pilgrimage and always ends up an admiral
Ok, what happens if she dies in ME2? Can you achieve peace between Quarians and Geth without her?
Don't think you can her being a live and Legion too are worth too many points
And what if Garrus isn't alive? What story arc does this affect? Conclusion: Garrus is as worthless as Ashley/Kaidan and you can't prove me wrong
Why would you want Quarians to live?
butts
You need 5 specific points to achieve peace. Completing and saving Koris mission gets you 2 points, settle the Tali/Legion argument with a paragon/renegade speech check gives you 1 and don't let Tali get exiled in ME2 which gives you 2. I think there's one with the Geth fighters simulator but I'm not sure that counts. There's a additional 2 points to achieve peace if you destroy the Heretic Geth in Legion's Loyalty mission
So you don't need Tali in 3?
You need both Tali and Legion alive in ME3 and fulfil everything that's in
.
I haven't seen a single clip or video that shown that's possible so Tali is a essential part in achieving peace
Why would you want piece?
The Quarians need to burn
Turian hands wrote this
It's talons and no I'm not.
I guess he's just cool anon, and pretty hot as well. he's the snarky cowboy archetype in which you can feel some sort of camaraderie and treat him like a mentor figure. if this was xii he would probably be balthier. you need that kind of character in practically anything
It's invalidates everything in the previous game. It made everything pointless. Never play a "space opera" ever again. That shit is a meme
>shitty 3d with covers and regenerating health
frick off zoomie
but enough about ME2
Unlike shitty ME2 you could just tell cover to go frick itself while you teleport around the battlefield beating the shit out of everyone
Anon they haven't made cover shooters in like a decade, what the frick are zoomers gonna know about them?
Is this like the resident evil 6 of RPGs? Seems like one of those monuments to everything wrong with AAA
>RPGs
Bioware and Bethesda games of the last 2 decades don't even classify as RPGs
It has some of the highest peaks of the series but also the lowest. I actually don’t mind the Reapers’ motivations but they’re explained much better in the Leviathan DLC without the stupid Star Child. The extended cut also fixed the major problem of the Mass Relays exploding and not showing any epilogue, but still it wasn’t enough and should have been included in the base game from day 1.
Everything about Cerberus and the control and synthesis endings was just moronic.
It's hard to explain to people who weren't around just how fricked that ending with the relays blowing up was, when we had also found out what happens to a star system in Arrival when a relay explodes.
Eat shit and die Casey, your legacy will always ultimately be one of failure. If anyone remembers you, it will be as a man winning a race with an insurmountable lead who decided to cut his legs off just before the finish line.
>shits on the whole series
No, it wasn't overblown.
Cerberus was dumb, and Earth as a whole was pretty disappointing outside the mess of an ending.
I liked it beyond that.
I love the whole trilogy even with the flaws
what about me? 🙂
The game itself was utter shit. However, the release period was one of the few times that Ganker was actually fun to browse.
its not the shit writing that ruined the game for me. its the lazy worldbuilding and the copy pasted assets. I scanned practically every single thing in the game anon. but the universe is just so boring and forgettable save for the humans backstory
Yep
Me too
It is good up until the last 20 minutes. The only people seething at the rest of it are jrpg homosexuals and those losers who still mod Morrowind
Don't worry guys the next ME will fix everything and bring back the good old days of Bioware. Just have a little faith.
>announced two years ago without any further information
>last game was Anthem
can't wait to make fun of it
You'll have to wait ~5-7 years after DA4 releases, to get real info about the next Mass Effect. Bioware doesn't want it stealing Dread Wolf's “thunder”.
>Most of it was still pretty good.
No
>Loyalty Quests are counted as side quests
That's disingenuous as frick. Who DOESN'T do the loyalty quests?
Plenty of people. It's side shit and therefore also bad.
If it were so good, where's Mass Effect 4?
Because Bioware wrote themselves into a corner of having to actually commit to a canonical ending if they ever want to make a sequel to the trilogy.
Honestly I would just be happy with a refined and expanded standalone version of ME3 multiplayer as a spinoff
Really? You'd reduce a TPS/RPG to a just flat out MP horde mode shooter? That's the future you want for Mass Effect? Is this all the franchise can be capable of? Is that sustainable??
Why are you gay?
>No argument
I accept your concession.
But that's based though
Then it's a dead franchise.
Go get your CoD audience that won't actually buy this game.
Andromeda actually had a decent concept and setting.
I think something the First Contact War would be great for the next game. But they'll just go
>hey remember Wrex?
>hey remember Liara?
and then ruin them.
What were they thinking. The remastered version doesn't improve it either
reddit romance
Jack no!
>someone else's opinion
>loved the mattock in ME2
>wanted a full auto rifle in ME3
>Cerberus Harrier is fricking busted and just deletes everything
What's a good alternative that's not broken but still decent?
glow up
A Nice evoluition in ME: Andromeda was that they finally got rid of the ridiculous "Armour with boobs" that are actually utterly stupid, and would never actually work.
No one cares what you think.
I like my fanservice, i couldn't care if they were unrealistic because lmaosheilds anyway
Yeah bro
>looks like a fricking dyke
>is fricking straight
>Vega looks like usual bara bait
>is straight
what's up with these two?
Something about Cora not being a dyke endeared me more to her.
Still didn't finish that trash though.
