2 mostly ignores them and then demystifies them with the moronic human reaper. 3 had to salvage that and was rushed as a result of 2 dallying in the terms of the main story line.

The story went to shit way before the ending.

        It was supposed to be:
        >1. Exposition. Discover threat. First encounter.
        >2. Invasion begins. Genocide. Hopelessness. United, traditional armies failed. Narrative low point. Small glimmer of hope at the end.
        >3. Reapers won. Galactic Vichy France. Shepard is leading the underground resistance and defeats the reapers using a weakness that arises from their artificial, logical nature.

        It turned out to be:
        >1. Exposition. Discover threat. First encounter.
        >2. Collectors??? Human supremacists??? Ocean's Eleven???
        >3. Invasion begins. Genocide. Hopelessness. United, traditional armies failed. Narrative low point. Uhhh.... magic weapon I guess.

This is moronic 2/3rds of 3 wouldn’t make any sense without playing 2.
            >Who’s this Mordin guy? Why is he so important? Who was Maelon and what kind of data did he have?
            >Wait Wrex is the leader of all of the krogan now?
            >Who’s Legion? How can this geth talk and why does he want to work with me?
            >Who are all these Quarian admirals that this game expects me to recognize? They barely have any screen time.
            >Who is the Illusive Man? Why is Cerberus so important when they were just in a side mission in the first game?
            >Why is Liara suddenly the Shadow Broker now? What happened to the other one?
            >What’s Omega? Why is a whole DLC set there? Why is this Aria chick important?
And countless other examples. Anti-2gays only care about the surface level Reaper plotline and don’t care about any of the subplots or characters that 2 introduced and developed.

Why did you write so much moronic shit just to admit that 2 fumbled the main plot while having great side stories and characters? That's already the consensus.
People just don't want to admit that it's the main reason why 3's story was rushed.

I wish the dark energy/acceleration of universe destruction plotline was kept.

And the reapers shouldn't have started already wiping out earth, the game should have literally been building the army to meet them before they get to the citadel or something, with the player detonating further mass relays in front of them to slow them down with Paragon plays being losing resources to evacuate early and Renegade plays waiting to the last second to cost Reapers more, so Paragon players ended up with a bigger fleet, while renegade players faced reapers that had already been slowed down and damaged by the speed bumps you left in the way or something.

You need 5 specific points to achieve peace. Completing and saving Koris mission gets you 2 points, settle the Tali/Legion argument with a paragon/renegade speech check gives you 1 and don't let Tali get exiled in ME2 which gives you 2. I think there's one with the Geth fighters simulator but I'm not sure that counts. There's a additional 2 points to achieve peace if you destroy the Heretic Geth in Legion's Loyalty mission

It has some of the highest peaks of the series but also the lowest. I actually don’t mind the Reapers’ motivations but they’re explained much better in the Leviathan DLC without the stupid Star Child. The extended cut also fixed the major problem of the Mass Relays exploding and not showing any epilogue, but still it wasn’t enough and should have been included in the base game from day 1.
Everything about Cerberus and the control and synthesis endings was just moronic.
