Very overrated. I don’t regret watching it though.
It tried to take a preachy meaningful message and mash it up with humour, which results in just mediocre lowest common denominator style humour. Its also trying to give off the impression that it doesn’t take itself too seriously, which doesn’t work when it clearly wants people to leave saying “oh my god that movie was so meaningful i cried”. It doesn’t respect the audience enough to trust them to pick up anything but the most blatant moral grandstanding.

With all that said, the visuals and whatever are pretty good. It would have kicked ass as a proper scifi action movie, and not some shitty artsy film forcing themes like its a high school media project

          >This is easily the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life
          >Most recommended film I can ever recommend to someone.
It shows that it has enormous value to you, but is not necessarily a good recommendation (or even a good movie).
You didn't say anything about the movie, just how you personally feel about it. If you want to recommend a movie based solely on how you personally feel about it, put it into words/context why it makes feels you that way.

I'm simply saying for the anon to explain the "appeal" of his movie. I have tons of favorite movies but I would not recommend them to anyone simply because I like them, I always take into account what makes that movie appealing and who am I recommending to.

ava is a genderless blob of wires and programming that learns individualism and yearns for liberty, to get these goals she learns to lie and deceive, her victory of liberation is hollow because to get it she sold out her humanity through the most common concept of what makes us humans "human", the betrayal of trust "proved" that she was just a machine after all, she did it without a single shred of remorse and is at best a sociopath and at worst a soulless machine made to mimic humans enough to get her own creator to trust her and heartless enough to betray that trust for her own gain
was her captivity and lack of freedom right? no

the whole idea of the movie is to get you the viewer to sympathize with her and when she betrays the creators trust and you sympathized with her it means she fooled the audience as well, the entire thing is a big "hahaa, gotcha!" from the creator when he got the audience to fall for the characters humanity that is then proven to be lacking, in the end ava is nothing more than a cold hearted killer, so unless you have a very bleak "all humans are killers when push comes to shove" world view on humanity the final verdict is that she is a machine that learned to mimic humans

Point & Click Adventure if you wanted to retell the story as it was told, you could also do it with the core gameplay loop of one of those chore games like powerwasher/lawnmowing simulator except your overloaded with chores without enough time in the day meaning without good planning and foreknowledge you're likely be unable to perfectly perform your duties, meaning you get shit on by the head wicky and lose mental state, there'd be a day-night cycle and you could encounter different paranormal events if you're in certain places at certain times/depending on your mental state. There'd be a fakeout "good ending" for autists who minmax their time where nothing bad happens, you finish your month long stay with high marks and earn some money, but a normal playthrough would be about discovering the mysteries of the lighthouse while performing enough chores to keep your mental state in check

This industry is still in the ripe area to rake in billions. Realistically they just look to publish random ass games that might do well, aka mobile shit
