I just want something to sink some hours into that feels a little more meaningful due to the multiplayer aspect.

      Ruined.

I wanna say PSO2NGS but the fricking game does alot to stop you from actually playing with others.

      Try destiny 2 I guess?

The start of that gqme is absolutely dreadful. I tried once and it left a lot to be desired.

Destiny 2 is one of the only games I ever regret purchasing, never play this trash.

OP you want RPGS or MMORPGs? RPGs with multiplayer components aren't too common any more, probably because companies can't make as much from microtransactions. If you're wanting crpgs then I would recommend divinity orignal sin, i played a good portion of it co op and had a great time.

I’m serious. For co op it’s a lot of fun with the right crew.

Also recommend stranger of paradise or nioh 2.

No way. If you want a co-op RPG play Vagante instead. 2D roguelite, decent build variety, pretty fun.

          No it’s pretty boring honestly.

I just played it this afternoon. I’d like it more if my inventory didn’t fill up so fast. They give you all kinds of weird items you don’t know how to use.

If you are into heavy daily grind and don't mind never turning game off then yeah.
I find it fun farming one low drop item by exterminating millions of monsters but don't really like leaving my pc on all day just to skill fishing or other profession that will bring me more profit than farming monsters.

Something like Ghost Recon Wildlands is as much of an "multiplayer RPG" as any of those games.

    >online co-op
    >level up
    >skills
    >equipment
    >minimal braindead story

Literally the samething as these other "RPGs". It's just modern shooting instead of medieval.

Is it any fun? And without having to grind for 50 hours for it to get fun?

Grinding comes with the territory but the game is fun regardless.

I don't mind grinding if the game is already fun but don't give me the bullshit of FFXIV where "BUT IT GETS FUN AFTER 50+ HOURS!". Frick that noise, if you can't make your base game fun, the game isn't fun.

It gets fun after about 200 hours, when you can finally start making meta weapons and a decent frame (character).
Problem is that it stops being fun after about 1000-1500 hours. The maps get repetitive, the enemies are either bullet sponges or ridiculously strong with very few actual mechanic checks that aren't "don't get shot lol just kill fast", and new updates add extra grind rather than extra quality.
There are also Pay for convenience systems that are HYPER obnoxious, in very deliberate ways, to make you pay over USD$100 at least once.
Imagine Call of duty released a gun with 2 versions - One that kinda sucks, and a remade version that will take you over 100 hours to grind or you can just pay $150 for the better version of the gun with other attachments that make it even more strong. And then, the developer decides to "balance" everything that was released before the shiny new gun.
That is warframe in a nutshell.
It really could've been a far better game than it is. The literal Anakin fricking Skywalker of its genre, meant to free us from destiny, not make pay to win normalized.

              >It gets fun after about 200 hours
Only if you're a meta chasing moron. Build fun frames and go for fun weapons.
              >There are also Pay for convenience systems that are HYPER obnoxious, in very deliberate ways, to make you pay over USD$100 at least once.
I have everything I could want in the game and I haven't spent a single penny, blow it out your ass.

I ever understood the “NO NO WAIT IT GETS FUN LATER” like hell I played 14 and it’s fine, slower at the start combat wise as you learn your class but it’s not even remotely unbearable.

If you want a co-op of any kind, then I'll need more info. Like... Outward (I think. Maybe Greedfall) is a RPG can can played co-op the whole way through. Same with Divinity Original Sin and Divinity Original Sin 2 - quite enjoyable, both of them. There are also the "survival" type games like Raft or specifically Conan Exiles (which I consider to be one of the best so called survival types and it has a ton of both RP potential and PVE content, besides just Rust style PVP ganking or ARK style Ganking With Dinosaurs etc) . There are 2D titles like Vagante or 20XX/30XX which are co-op , the latter are MegaMan/Gunvolt style co-ops+roguelikes, plus of course Terraria and Starbound are at their best when multiplayer and/or modded. If you want home/town building, Stardew Valley is a big name, but Don't Starve Together, Staxel, My Time At Sandrock (the sequel to MyTime At Portia, this time with co-op/multiplayer capability) and apparently recently that Aussie inspired Animal Crossing-like, Dinkum, is apparently super popular despite being in EA recently (overwhelmingly popular on Steam).

There's a frickload more I could go on, if you want something more like a true MMO, there are options there too both new and old. There are a lot of private servers out there for older MMOs like City of Heroes that are going through a resurgence. For other titles, I've always enjoyed Shroud of the Avatar ( if you want true RPG in your MMORPG, including stuff like npc names not being known until you hail them etc.. it has a lot of old school charm. Made by Lord British of Ultima fame. Has a lot of shit to do in game and non-instanced home/property ownership, skill based progression system etc) and its monetization isn't shit it was buy to play but until the next expansion the base game is free. There's also one premium currency that you can both buy with real cash and earn in game at a good rate, which can be used for rare cosmetics and shit) More next post

Wow Classic is still a fantastic experience despite what the poopsockers and “hardcore” gamers mald over. You’ll have no problem enjoying the game. It’s a wonderfully crafted leveling/endgame experience.
Retail is great too but it’s very skill based and fast paced. The barrier to entry on content at this point in the latest expansion is very restrictive.

    OSRS is always good
