It was the awful wibbly wobbly graphics they look like shit on modern TVs. I genuinely cannot play PS1 games anymore even though I grew up with the damn thing. PS2 graphics also aged really poorly due to that PS2 piss vaseline filter on every fricking game.
The graphics are fine its that fricking filter man. Every PS2 game looks like its smeared in it all the pixels are so blurry people complain about N64 blur but frick it ruins PS2 games for me, I played Ico and SOTC on RPCS3 because they removed that stupid blur on the "remaster"
I mean the dumb filter on PS2 games, PS1 is fine its that weird AA that use at thet ime its basically FXAA but worse in everyway where games from other consoles look so well scaled up.
I had literally 0 issues with the loading times whatsoever. I got all of the endings and played even more times after that all on the PS1 version.
I don't know what people b***h so much about
>Gran Turismo >Gran Turismo 2 >Castlevania: Symphony of the Night >Tekken 3 >Ridge Racer: Type 4 >Ace Combat 2 >Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere >Omega Boost >Wipeout
Some of these have had other titles make gradual improvements over their formula, but are still excellent plays today
OG Tomb Raider is still the best in the series, and it works because the crappy textures and low poly surfaces are used as elements in what amount to jumping puzzles.
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain also holds up in its GOG version. It was always painful to play on PSOne but whatever pleasure you could eke out of it at the time is still there.

Come on guys, I know we're all contrarians to the core, but Spyro 1 was a great game then and it's a great game now. It deserves a mention.

I respect your opinion but disagree. I love PS2 graphics. That middle ground 3D looks great to me.

Any of the Sprite based PS1 games aged well.

The work they did to make that game look good is incredible and rereleases and filters will never recover that

literally every game ever released for it
youre crazy. i purposefully turn off the geometry correction on emulators because i love the wobbly stuff
>PS2 graphics also aged really poorly due to that PS2 piss vaseline filter on every fricking game
thats called standard definition, moron
If you say it aged well, you agree with me.
If you say it didn’t age well, you’re a pussyboy who couldn’t beat Bzzit.
This is my victory.
the original rayman will always remain the best rayman game in the entire series

I had literally 0 issues with the loading times whatsoever. I got all of the endings and played even more times after that all on the PS1 version.

Rayman 1 & Bust-A-Move 4.
They both feel very modern. Look fantastic & run at perma 60. B4 has a bit of loading but that’s it. Very enjoyable too.
I would buy sequels to those games today full price if they were straight new content on the exact same engine (like RCT1 to 2, or kinda TR1 to TR2).
Symphony of the Night, but that might be cheating because it's 2d
