Was short but a good time. Lack of combat felt weird but I didn't hate it as much as see how it could been easily added, more so given how the water bubble upgrade only have three uses and one of which is completely optional. Wouldn't surprise me if the heart was intended to be a boss as well but got replace with a shitty puzzle at the last second. Felt it was made with combat in mind but at the last second they just went "nah". I like the fact you can find everything without using a guide but the puzzles aren't so easy that you will nobrain the whole game. Final egg ability is pretty fun but once I finished the game I only look at two secrets that I recall then just uninstall the game after I finish it. Overall a fun game but not a replacement for a classic platformer collecathon. Play it once and likely will never play it again. Once you know the puzzles there is very little reason to care compare to say Mario 64 where you are given more skill based objectives.
I wish I fought the final boss before getting the final egg ability, because it completely removes all challenge from that fight.
Exploring the map was fun, but yeah there wasn't a lot of skill involved.
That's why I liked Corn Kidz 64 better. More cool platforming challenges, especially the tower levels.
>Pseudoregalia
I disagree and agree depending on which bits you find to be ass. I love how overwhelmed I felt having so many paths to take on a very dense map. Everything else was very meh and hated my friend gifted it to me even though it basically just the free gamejam ver but with just an added final boss. If it had a final area that test you with the assumption that you have all of the skills then I would be less hateful about it but currently the dev is selling a free game. Also heard the dev added a map which literally removed the one thing I did liked about it so fuck everyone else I guess. Though it isn't a big deal with the Gamejam ver is the recommended ver anyway. Movement felt great and the challenges were nice but why buy when nothing was added?
But as for Cavern of Dreams I like the option to cheese the final boss but I agree it made it far too easy.
I thought the moveset was really good, but the level design doesn't take advantage of it at all.
In fact, if you use the moveset to its fullest potential it's likely you'll unintentionally sequence break and become hopelessly lost. Which is a big deal when there's no map.
And considering every exit looks practically the same, a map is sorely needed.
Cavern of Dreams didn't need a map because every area and exit were visually unique
Play it but even though I'm normally a sucker for such games unironically they made them either too simple or so min-maxing is required for all three stars. The only game I really enjoy was the vials one. Too forever but they did get a bit challenging near the end. I just wanted to make a fat bitch from solving braindead math problems to see how big I could get her type of ad game clones.I respect they try to make legit puzzles so it be a real game overall but it just not fun compare to playing a real puzzle game. Also the parkinglot minigame timing got so fucking picky at some stages.
