Metal Gear Solid are cinematic games in nature. Best left alone. A video game that should be a movie is Spiderman (1998 ) on N64.

      Don't give them ideas

I don't get it. Captain America winter soldier is very obviously ripped off from mgs2

      Isn't this just Iron Man(2008)?

I would kill to see a proper adaptation of that. It needs to star either Adam Sandler or that Jeet who played Chirag/Ravi to work.

Personally, picrel would be fantastic if it were ever pulled off. It'd be the next Scott Pilgrim.

A Time Crisis movie would be the shit, and you all fricking know it! Just get someone good at explosions, load every 80s-90s cliche action movie line into ChatGPT, cast some stunt people as the leads, and outsource the CGI to India. It could probably be done for under $100 mil, even.

Not really. Despite the heavy cutscene usage, there’s probably no series that revels more in the fact that it’s a video game. Psycho Mantis fight, the entire MGS2 metanarrative, The End, etc. The parts people remember the most are very video gamey in ways that no other media can replicate.

Nu-COM has a really good basis for a 3-5 season show.

      Season 1
      >ayy lmaos start abducting people, XCOM formed in response
      >rookies sent into the meat grinder, shows how outmatched humanity is
      >season finale ends with splashing a UFO for the first time, successful raid on the crashed ship that introduces the core team of veterans for the remainder of the show

      Season 2
      >ayy tech leads to new weapons and gear, mission success rate goes up
      >first live ayy capture
      >XCOM base gets invaded, command suspects alien collaborators, introducing EXALT

      Season 3
      >gene mods, MECs and psionics come about, lots of existential angst among soldiers
      >XCOM in danger of being shut down due to EGGSALT frickery

      Season 4
      >XCOM goes rouge to hunt down EXALT Black folk
      >super soldiers go out among the civies, transhumanist drama among the soldiers
      >season ends with a raid on EXALT HQ, proving XCOMs innocence to the Council
      >panic among the population is at a fever pitch, more alien raids than ever

      Season 5
      >whole countries go dark, all hope is lost
      >temple ship discovered, XCOM captures and destroys it
      >bittersweet ending, surviving countries grab at XCOM gear and personnel, starting a new arms race and possibly a cold war

It'd have to be done by non woke, but I really think Metroid would make a great movie/show.
Samus as a mostly silent protagonist, her being female is never mentioned, obviously acknowledged by the audience but no girlboss shit.
So maybe in 5 years when the woke shit dies off from movies, then Samus can hit the big screen.

    Dreamworks could make Wild Arms
Pixar could make Maximo and that would kick ass.

    Live Action:
Japan could make Tenchu or Yakuza (or anything really).
Britain could make Dead to Rights, Deception, Driver, or The Getaway.
America could make Bully, Dragon's Lair or Escape From Monkey Island.
Germany could make Shadow of Memories
Italy could make Carmen Sandiego, True Crime, Fahrenheit, or Ephemeral Fantasia.
France could make School Days or Persona since they're best at slice-of-life drama.

Why Spielberg's Monkey Island movie fell through
    >“We gathered in Steven’s office, and the first thing he said was that we shouldn’t have the main characters be human,” Carson says. “Instead, he suggested we should make the movie be about the monkeys on Monkey Island. Everyone just nodded, but my heart stopped. What the heck? We had worked for several weeks on a story that was based on the charm and humor of the games, and Steven wanted to throw all that out and make some new story about monkeys? I was completely confused.”

I'm less concerned about what games to adapt, and more concerned about the steps needed to greenlight the adaptations.
Is it all in the pitch?
How do you even get the opportunity to pitch? Do you personally need to know (AKA suck the dick of) a producer that'll be your foot in the door?
