I will get hyped if it stops pretending to be Armored Core. Cause going in expecting an Armored Core experience is what really made this game even more crap than it normally would be.
>co-op locked behind THE ENTIRE STORY >absolute wet-noodle combat >bloated UI with giant damage number popups everywhere
rather dick in a blender than play this shite again
Be the equivalent of what Nioh is to Dark Souls i guess, only with Armored Core this time. That aside, they probably surprised by AC6 announcement and decide to coast on the hype train to prop up their game, that could explain the complete lack of gameplay in the trailer.
It was soft-announced in September 2021 so they must've been working on it for a while. Maybe it's just not yet at a point where they want to show it, the first one came out like three months after the reveal.
Yeah, they kind of need it to be console exclusive to Nintendo because they're the only one that would be willing to market it. Sony and Microsoft won't give a shit about a AA game that sold about as well as a AA game should sell.
>Is Suda just a fan of mechs and that's what they had on hand?
NMH2 had a full-on mecha boss battle, every power-up in the spin-off was named after a Gundam series and there's space battles and a henshin transformation in the third game. The DxM crossover was a tongue in cheek joke since the mech from the 2nd game was out of commission so they brought in the one from DxM through a portal or something to kill the true final boss in the credits sequence
>How do we fix DxM gameplay?
As someone who played it and kind of liked it but not enough to finish it >Shrink the UI as default, just the essentials >More weapon variety and distinctness >Better way to obtain new gear especially mech parts beyond scaraging and the factory >Don't lock good gear behind multiplayer >Get rid of the Femto enhancing system >An actual fucking mission structure beyond "kill everything" >Flesh out melee combat beyond the same rush animation for everything >Two handed heavy guns (more mech games in general need some of these) >Better TTK, shit takes too long to kill >More player involvement in the story
>Shrink the UI as default, just the essentials
Unless I'm wrong, I remember being able to fine tune and remove anything in the HUD, so I don't think this is needed anon. I actually think more fine control over it would be nice. I remember only moving things by squares in the mesh, I want at least the option of half-squares. >Better TTK, shit takes too long to kill
Now, I didn't play closer to the last patches of the multiplayer meta, but I don't remember being that bad. If anything, the co-op missions went to fast. I wanted the game to be harder.
Everything else I agree, at least to a degree. Dunno about Femto, they need something to spin as exclusive to their series.
>Unless I'm wrong, I remember being able to fine tune and remove anything in the HUD, so I don't think this is needed anon
The issue is the HUD is just a massive clutter akin to those HUD meme picture from the get go and it's up to us to make it less cancer. I'd rather it starts out minimal but gives us the ability to add more >Now, I didn't play closer to the last patches of the multiplayer meta, but I don't remember being that bad. If anything, the co-op missions went to fast. I wanted the game to be harder.
Maybe it was just me but if felt like most Frames took an eternity to kill and the bosses were even worse but I also place the blame on the absolutely abysmal rate of fire on most guns the Assault Rifle class was practically semi-autos with how slow they fired.
Femto's issue was with how useless it was all the enhancements were marginal and the doppelganger barely did it's job, they should go full anime with what you can do with it, after images with mass, teleporting, massive laser bearms, hyper armor and force fields shit like that
Hopefully they'll make a passable game this time around, bad time to announce it considering they have to compete with the real deal, but at least Switch owners will have a knockoff of their own
You'd have to redo it from the ground up pretty much.
>Add actual customization and alternate systems for the meme energy bar >Fix customization so that it's not presenting you with a million stats, but having such shit variation between them on different parts that it's essentially just forcing you to pick between two archetypes >Add different leg types >Properly focus on-foot gameplay on stealth and traps/defenses instead of just having a couple landmines you can't replenish and otherwise being the same shit but worse >No more shitty MMO number bloat design for bosses and enemy arsenals >Have actual competent writing and presentation
Nice/10.
If it is on Switch and launched this year, I'll see you lads in the multiplayer threads again. Playin this with you guys, back when it launched, was probably the most fun I had in multiplayer in about a decade.
Yes, it sold above expectations. It got decent patch support after release, if you played on release and now, you'd notice a lot differences in weapons and parts balance.
What does both games being announced in the same Direct have to do with anything? The games are made by two completely different developers. But yes, Astral Chain did do well and Platinum probably is working on a sequel.
It's just I always put the teo game together for both being announced on the same direct, being nintendo exclusives (DxM was for a while) and being anime.
I was pretty miffed from the first game how upgrading your character instead of your robot was ultimately a wasted effort, since there's never any good reason to not be in a robot.
There were those exploration mode rooms you couldn't enter with the robot as well as that one on foot mission, but yeah, generally the best upgrades were the ones that affected your mech instead of you.
Ah, a sequel to looking around simulator. >is that an enemy? >oh it moved three low-FOV screens away in a millisecond in a scripted motion after taking .1% damage >time to LOOK AROUND
I actually finished it. It wasn't that bad. I'm just memeing.
But there certainly is a lot of room for improvement. There has to be a better enemy design possible other than some enemies letting you wail on them with the energy sword for minutes on end and others accelerating to lightspeed every time you land a single hit.
I liked the pilot customization too, but upgrading your pilot replaces most of your customization with cybernetics making most of it pointless. It doesn't help that the upgrades are pretty ugly too.
They should at least let us toggle them off after beating the game.
The story of DXM is absolute nonsense that spends around 80% of it world-building for shit that doesnt matter, schizo characters that constantly betray eachother for trivial reasons and drama, and then some clusterfuck finish that solves nothing
DxM's plot is basically "here's a string of unconnected arcs, anyway go kill the big evil space AI, it's bad because reasons". There's so many random unnecessary twists about characters and whatnot that don't fucking matter. One chick, the leader of that all-girl team, she's an AI that made herself a human body. It's glossed over entirely and nobody talks about it after she brings it up. Those two weird goth twins? Functionally dead, only able to stay alive with obscenely frequent organ transplants.
>All those insanely interesting things completely glossed over
DxM really should have had some friendship mechanics and missions there is a LOT of shit that is just brought up then forgotten which could have been cool side arcs
It's so strange. Game really needed a smaller cast to focus on these things more in-depth. Instead the team with the most depth is "oops we die and then we revive, it's our thing, we're linked to this tower, we dunno why, it's just there".
The game feels like it went through a lot of rewrites and changes, for example you're paired up with Bullet Works constantly and are more or less a de facto member complete with a (one-sided) rivalry with Johnny G but you're still a freelancer and the only freelancer. There was also the ability to ask questions and even voice an opinion in the mission briefings but that only lasted for one mission. Fucking hell the game was a mess hopefully the sequel will be much more put together
Spoilers obviously, but years ago someone on reddit sat down and translated the sourcebook which answers pretty much any question you might have about the characters and story.

>has less variety and depth compared to the first Armored Core
I'm impressed at the amount of retarded dicksuckers this game managed to attract. Guess that's what console exclusivity will do.
Yeah, basically. When there's no other releases even putrid shit like DXM and MW5 become decently well received to the detriment of the genre as a whole.
Sounds like shit. Sounds like generic "cool" PS2 ost.
Just needs more and different weapons.
Expanded movesets, especially for melee.
And other stuff than corridors for multiplayer.
Or atleast give the players some tools to create something cool, if its just going to be the same procedural dungeon type again.
Bosses where decent.
Yeah bosses were the only thing I'd give it credit for. Looks like AC6 is taking inspiration from DxM's massive bosses though so again, no point for this game.
I'm somewhat interested. The first one was alright but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement so we'll see where they go with it. Honestly they should just delete the create-able anime character and all that nonsense and just focus on the mech action because the story/characters were terrible in the first game.
I had a lot of fun playing it on PC with anons and the few japs who stuck with it. Shame about the Switch version being so shitty, but PC wins again baybee.

Does Nintendo have any ownership in the IP? I remember reading that they had some licensing stuff for exclusivity in the first game. If so, I guess this will be Switch/PC only
Hope it comes out for the Switch 2 and not that piece of shit that run the first one at 20 fps. I have an old ass GPU so it probably wouldn't run much better on my PC, but at the same time I have zero incentive to upgrade because fuck it with the current condition of the PC gaming market.
Playing the demo and never buying it I felt like this was a poor PSP game developed on the Switch. Everything about it screamed 2 generations back in a bad way and the mechs didn't feel like it had weight.
The Gundam Battle games were incredible and I was hoping DxM was more similar to that.
No one cares dude
I care
exactly, you are a "no one"
Learn English before posting
that's not very nice, I think anon is a pretty cool guy
Fuck you! Daemon X Machina will absolutely crush AC6!!
i care first one was fun, but 7.5/10 fun hopefully sequel going to be better
have a nice day ASAP, not joking
Grow up
wishing I could punch your mutt face through my screen
FPBP. Their last game still has broken online ever since they added EGS malware to the pc version.
Daemon x Machina was just all around mediocre, there's no reason to get hyped about a sequel
>new, mediocre IP get a sequel
There's plenty of reason to be excited. They might improve it.
Wasn't DxM2 already announced?
>They might improve it.
Just like Rune Factory 5, amirite?
>Wasn't DxM2 already announced?
yeah, a while back they said it was in production. It was either on the one or two year anniversary stream.
Wait, this game is not DxM2?
It is. It just has a title now.
You confused your post with the game anon, that's alright.
Really? Titanic?
Cool i guess. Hope they improved the gameplay, because the first one was not great
Ye it wasnt.
The anime cringe I got used to but the bareones gameplay made me never finish it.
I will get hyped if it stops pretending to be Armored Core. Cause going in expecting an Armored Core experience is what really made this game even more crap than it normally would be.
I just ordered the first game today, fuck
>Amored Core
>Megaton Musashi
>Daemon X Machina
We're eating good mechabros
Don't forget that Grendizer game anon.
We definitely are FEASTING. Not just mecha chads, but superrobot chads for once too.
Not to rain on your parade but the Grendizer game is literal indie shovelware.
glad i pirated it, felt like the most soulless copy of armored core i've ever had the misfortune of trying
>co-op locked behind THE ENTIRE STORY
>absolute wet-noodle combat
>bloated UI with giant damage number popups everywhere
rather dick in a blender than play this shite again
UI with giant damage number popups everywhere
Anon, the UI is FULLY customizable including the size.
So what’s their game plan now that AC6 is very real and very much can’t coast of a decade long Armored Core drought and mech games in general?
Be the equivalent of what Nioh is to Dark Souls i guess, only with Armored Core this time. That aside, they probably surprised by AC6 announcement and decide to coast on the hype train to prop up their game, that could explain the complete lack of gameplay in the trailer.
It was soft-announced in September 2021 so they must've been working on it for a while. Maybe it's just not yet at a point where they want to show it, the first one came out like three months after the reveal.
Step 1: just make a good game
Step 2: don't release it too close to AC6
That's it really, people will play more than one game you know.
Be on the switch where AC6 certainly will never ever be on it I guess?
multi plat from the start right?
They didn't say. They seem to still like going Switch first, then PC and maybe other consoles. They should at least do Switch and PC day one.
Hopefully PC + Switch just for sweet sweet Nintendo marketing. Octopath 2 sold worse when it become full multiplats
You now remember that DxM opened the 2019 E3 Direct and you thought it was Xenoblade X2 for a second, damn it.
Yeah, they kind of need it to be console exclusive to Nintendo because they're the only one that would be willing to market it. Sony and Microsoft won't give a shit about a AA game that sold about as well as a AA game should sell.
Zeruchroar solo was one of the most fun boss fights I've done in years. I'll look forward to this.
If the game adds weight and improves the gameplay. maybe i'll look into it
First one was ok.
dont have a better screenshot
What was even the point of that? Was it just a random publisher in-joke? Is Suda just a fan of mechs and that's what they had on hand?
>Is Suda just a fan of mechs and that's what they had on hand?

This was pretty fucking based honestly, came out of nowhere
NMH3 was a wild fucking ride
neat
the first was decent and had a lot of room for improvement, hopefully they learn from the first
things are looking up for mech fans lately
How do we fix DxM gameplay?
>How do we fix DxM gameplay?

Nevermind I saw you include that with fleshing out melee, my bad.

game play is fine if the boss mechs just shot more since boosting is so easy. its the horrible dialogue and mission design that's the problem.
Nice/10.
If it is on Switch and launched this year, I'll see you lads in the multiplayer threads again. Playin this with you guys, back when it launched, was probably the most fun I had in multiplayer in about a decade.
lolwhat
You mean, it wasn't vaporware?
I liked this game, as flawed as it was.
Guns Empress best girl.
Nani? I guess it did well? Then can we expect Astral Chain 2 too (bith games were announced during the same direct).
Yes, it sold above expectations. It got decent patch support after release, if you played on release and now, you'd notice a lot differences in weapons and parts balance.

It's just I always put the teo game together for both being announced on the same direct, being nintendo exclusives (DxM was for a while) and being anime.
Astral chain was announced in early 2019, dxm was announced e3 2018.
We've known that both platinum and nintendo want AC2 for years
I was pretty miffed from the first game how upgrading your character instead of your robot was ultimately a wasted effort, since there's never any good reason to not be in a robot.
Some upgrades affect your robot but otherwise I'd agree the getting out mechanic was underutilized
There were those exploration mode rooms you couldn't enter with the robot as well as that one on foot mission, but yeah, generally the best upgrades were the ones that affected your mech instead of you.
>autistically tweaks the HUD

Ah, a sequel to looking around simulator.

The fact that is getting a sequel means that you already lost.
I actually finished it. It wasn't that bad. I'm just memeing.
But there certainly is a lot of room for improvement. There has to be a better enemy design possible other than some enemies letting you wail on them with the energy sword for minutes on end and others accelerating to lightspeed every time you land a single hit.
Your Tau chud garbage gets stomped on by Space Marine 2.
Fuck anime mechshit.
That's actually impressive after it was such a dud on release. Xsneed refused to even market it.
Loved being able to customize my pilot and fight outside the mech, HATED the story it was fucking GARBAGE.
I liked the pilot customization too, but upgrading your pilot replaces most of your customization with cybernetics making most of it pointless. It doesn't help that the upgrades are pretty ugly too.
They should at least let us toggle them off after beating the game.
I mean it's kind of the point they're ugly, because you're losing your humanity, etc.
Can someone give me a summary of the entire plot in DxM?
I'm 10hr in and still have no clue what the fuck is going on
Aryan schizo is into knitting
Don't worry, you'll end the game and still not know what the fuck is going on.
You'll understand at the end
Its not that good tbh
You go fuck up the robot antichrist.
No seriously, that's the story.
The story of DXM is absolute nonsense that spends around 80% of it world-building for shit that doesnt matter, schizo characters that constantly betray eachother for trivial reasons and drama, and then some clusterfuck finish that solves nothing
Don't pay attention to it, just worship Regret

interesting
I feel the people who hate DxM literally don't have brains fast enough to appreciate the game's combat. I hope they don't slow it down for their sake.
I don't hate it, I just thought it was boring.
It's a game where you kind of make your fun so I agree. Hope the sequel has some real bite to it, that's my only real ask.
>It's a game where you kind of make your fun
How so?
soloing coop missions tbh
big yawn
less yawn than playing with retards or AI
like the difficulty only makes sense if you do that
less yawn but still big yawn
Why though
Sold enough and had a good enough reception
Because the first game was successful?
Because Suda might give them some pity marketing again.
That's good, I loved the player customization and ultra gigachad Savior was great. I hope they balance weapons better though.
>has less variety and depth compared to the first Armored Core
I'm impressed at the amount of retarded dicksuckers this game managed to attract. Guess that's what console exclusivity will do.
spreadsheets with fake numbers aren't depth
It's on PC too.
Now, sure.
Most of the people who played DxM played it on PC
>PC
>Console
Ac6 exists. What's the point?
To keep the genre alive you pleb
Shitty games are what killed the genre in the first place.
Ah yes, a flood of shitty games in a genre that had about one release every few years.
Yeah, basically. When there's no other releases even putrid shit like DXM and MW5 become decently well received to the detriment of the genre as a whole.
Like ACV?
Shoji Kawamori designs, maybe.
I really really hope we get Variable fighter style mechs.
Does ac6 have ost like this?
Sounds like shit. Sounds like generic "cool" PS2 ost.
Yeah bosses were the only thing I'd give it credit for. Looks like AC6 is taking inspiration from DxM's massive bosses though so again, no point for this game.
I can't wait
Now we just need an actual good fucking Gundam game to come out.
Why are the fromdrones getting uppity?
because they're not armored core fans and just from drones.
>Producer
how much does that matter again?
I'm somewhat interested. The first one was alright but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement so we'll see where they go with it. Honestly they should just delete the create-able anime character and all that nonsense and just focus on the mech action because the story/characters were terrible in the first game.
I had a lot of fun playing it on PC with anons and the few japs who stuck with it. Shame about the Switch version being so shitty, but PC wins again baybee.
PC version has the same limitations. No actual weapon noise variation or proper timing (it straight up breaks at high fire rate)
It was unplayable on switch due to hardware limitations. It ran fine on PC.
>Shame about the Switch version being so shitty,
At least they had save transfers.
Just needs more and different weapons.
Expanded movesets, especially for melee.
And other stuff than corridors for multiplayer.
Or atleast give the players some tools to create something cool, if its just going to be the same procedural dungeon type again.
Bosses where decent.
I wonder if the story will be as downright schizophrenic as the first one was.
DxM was so shit. The only good thing about it is that it helps me identify bandwagoning fake AC fans when they inevitably compare it to AC4.
Does Nintendo have any ownership in the IP? I remember reading that they had some licensing stuff for exclusivity in the first game. If so, I guess this will be Switch/PC only
Maybe the plot won't be as schizo as the first game's
CORE-LIKES
HOME
yoooooooooooo core-likes gotta be my favorite genre saw a youtube vid on em yesterday shit bussin
have a nice day
ay yo 9-b aint palyin at all
This was the only good thing about the entire shitheap of a game
>New Daemon X Machina announced
Great. Is this one gonna suck ass too?
I beat DXM but I can't remember anything about it. Art was cool at least.
Nice, i liked the first one.
>Main theme gets remixed for the sequel
I fucking love it
Hope it comes out for the Switch 2 and not that piece of shit that run the first one at 20 fps.
I got it for free on EGS a while back but haven't touched it. I don't think I will either.
