No. Learn how to use emulators and steamless. Download from rin or trusted repackers. Avoid torrents and use ddl

i've pirated my whole life and i still have no clue how steam emulator shit works. cause i mostly play old games, up to ps3/360 gen.
redpill me anons. can you play online with cracked games and steam emulator? what really is the purpose of it. also, what about having a game legit on steam and using emulators to unlock dlcs and shit? i heard about that too.

Steam emulators are for uncracked games with Steamworks DRM, so games that don't have it or are already cracked don't need it.
If you can play online depends on how each game's online works. Some games allow playing pirated on official servers no questions asked.

what's a good way to check if i can play pirated online or not? like is there something on pcgamingwiki that will tell me what type of online that game uses?

if the games use dedicated servers or a centralized master server, then no you cannot. if they just use steam p2p multiplayer you can, with some tweaks. if they have local network play you can use use a virtual lan to play with others online as well.

ty anon. some games have an "online fix" i guess that's just a private server for only the people with the cracked game.

no that's the steam p2p workaround usually. if it has lan play you don't need to do anything but setup up a lan yourself with hamachi or whatever.

I got about 40 letters from Comcast once. I called them and told them that if they continue to harass me I'm going to cancel my expensive internet and cable. they gave me free HBO for a year.

yea literally any one can send you a letter that does nothing. In the UK on the other hand if you buy a TV with out a license the bbc can kick your door down and shake you down while a police officer is there and is powerless to do anything about it. literal 1984 LMAO. God the UK is gay.

Yeah I had 300+ games on steam, forgot to close it before opening up a pirated game and it sent a ping to the steam servers that I was playing an illegal copy of a game..... immediately got banned and lost everything. That same week I got a letter from my ISP on Steam's behalf telling me to find a lawyer.....

OP here, I don’t know who is trolling and who isn’t.

I’ve seen on some common websites that there are 10’s of thousands of downloads of their cracked games so I assume it’s so widespread a problem it’s highly unlikely.

I am of a nervous disposition in my older years though and I worry, so maybe I won’t risk it.

he worst thing you might get is a strongly worded letter from your ISP

OP here again, hypothetically, if I did download a cracked game then added it to my steam library, would that be mental? Would I be better keeping it clear from steam?

adding a game to steam is just pointing to an exe, it doesn't really matter what it is

We play video games together as well. I play on the PC downstairs and my son’s on the PS5 upstairs and we play on fortnite. I’m also in the best shape of my life. I have my cross trainer set up in front of the PC set up and play Returnal / Skyrim / FF9 and exercise whilst I play.

also, you said that you think this is a myth but...
downloading copyrighted material is not illegal.
Distribution of copyrighted material IS illegal.
When you torrent you are downloading bits from multiple sources, and those sources are also downloading their bits from you.
Meaning you are distributing copyrighted material when torrenting.
Use the vpn. its a non issue.

Only when it involves Nintendo or Disney have I gotten my internet restricted for torrenting, and probably only for seeding public torrents that I forgot to remove.
