Hopefully next week
nope. next week is the quarterly report.
Will forgotten land or star allies be in that? I wanna know how well kirby has been selling
even more reason for there to be a direct, its not like those are actually live.
now that the preorders for AWReboot have been opened again, its obvious nintendo is setting up for a direct. and certainly thats a more consistent proof than twitter user @veganapipol5020 saying 'MY MISTRESS WORKS FOR NINTENDO AND TOTALLY TOLD ME THERES GONNA BE A DIRECT WHILE WHIPPING MY ASS UNTIL BLOOD WAS SQUIRTING ALL OVER THE FLOOR, GAIS!'
The frick that got to do with anythhing
If anything that's a bigger argument for it being next week. Remember in 2020/2021 when they'd skip directs and announce one game right before each quarterly report.
wouldn't they want the direct to happen before the report? in case they have to divulge any game titles
No. They already have Zelda and a couple other titles dated through May. They're fine until the next report.
Feb. 9th.
The HD-2D remake for pic related was announced back in 2021 and we haven't seen anything since. Feb. 10th this year marks the 35th anniversary of the original DQ3 release which was fricking huge in Japan. A Nintendo Direct lining up with this makes too much sense and there's no way it's not releasing on the Switch
Wrong. It's Feb 3. They always do it on a Wednesday and their investor meeting is on the 7th. Doesnt make sense to release a direct hyping games up after that.
>Direct on a Friday
nah, and they usually do their Directs after the shareholder meetings
>there's no way it's not releasing on the Switch
PS5 is about to rule Japan. Square Enix aren't stupid enough to miss the train
two more weeks
If you want dq3 on 2d-hd you are the cancer killing the industry
No Im pretty sure thats AAA slop with bloated budgets like Forspoken that is killing the game industry. 2D 3D is a unique twist on the pixelart style and a cool way to modernize older games without butchering their identity.
They announced hero for smash around that time too right? If so not a bad prediction. Shits been MIA
TotK gets delayed again.
The game is out in 5 months so there’s still time for a blowout Direct. Them keeping details this sparse means they’re either extremely confident in it, or it’s massively behind schedule.
So does Advance Wars
Odyssey 2, please
Donkey Kong 64 2, please
At this point we’re most likely to see it on NSO
It'll be within a few days of the investors meeting on the 7th, either before or after.
17 feb is the official date.
Proof
February 20th
>Hope
Mario Odyssey 2
Next 3D Kirby
Nintendo Kart
>Fears
5+ farming RPG sims
Mario Movie tie in game
>Expectations
Full direct dedicated to Tears of the Kingdom
I doubt they’ll announce a new 3d kirby this year, I can see one happening next year though
I don't expect them at all to announce a new Kirby. It's just what I hope they to announce. I'm not expecting it at all
Well, the tokyo branch of hal seemingly haven’t made anything new since kirby battle royale back in 2017 so there’s that
>more mediocre spin-offs on the way
Oh joy
I’m not saying it’s happening this year. They may have also worked on boxboy+boxgirl and part time ufo’s switch port since then, but that’s unconfirmed and even if they did, that still means the last thing we’ve seen from them was a switch port of a mobile game back in 2020 so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll show off whatever they’re cooking up soon
Probably
I was wondering why we didn't get one for the Wii.
Do I need to play the other box boys to enjoy Boxboy + Boxgirl?
No
I guess more importantly, is the game any fun?
It’s fun if you really like puzzle games
Ok I'll go buy it and see if it's any good. Thanks for the help.
Yup with free updates
https://comicbook.com/gaming/amp/news/mario-sports-baseball-sluggers-nintendo-switch-game-leaked/
I could at least see a new Kirby spinoff releasing this year
It’d be funny if kirby got a new game announced when one is already coming out
>Full direct dedicated to Tears of the Kingdom
Every single dedicated Direct except the Smash Bros ones are complete cancer, please no.
>Another Kirby game
Kirby fatigue when?
Never, but I’ve been experiencing Fire Emblem Fatigue, most of the games I just don’t care about and I’ll speak by not buying them.
Hal basically pigeonholed themselves into making only Kirby instead of making new IPs or tending to their older ones like Lolos Adventure. They can only squeak out minor shit like BoxBoy and UFO which Id imagine doesnt do enough gangbusters to keep the lights on. Plus there is a VAST well of Kirby merch potential to tap into. They sadly are stuck the same way Game Freak is stuck making Pokemon forever. If it keeps selling and keeps you afloat while dev costs keep soaring, then why change that?
Zelda, Pokemon DLC and maybe XB3 DLC
Pokemon has their own directs
Pokémon is getting its direct on the 28th.
Who fricking cares
>Some weeb bullshit no one's ever heard of
>A dozen indie games no one will play
>The most patronizing announcers this side of the Andromeda
>asiatics in suits bowing a million times saying enjoy
Noooooo dont say that out loud youll anger all the elitist tendies pretending theyre cultured and dont just play bingshit all day nooooooo im getting a heckin angery
We always get stupid weeb shit, modern Nintendo sucks booty
Advanced Wars will get either shadowdropped or released a week later with no fanfare, will sell like shit and dig the franchise into the ground again. Any plans for posible long term support will be dropped if they weren't already
You think its releasing that soon?
Pre orders are popping up everywhere.
AW1+2 was always supposed to be a low budget filler title between bigger releases. That's why they casually postponed it for about a year.
People are expecting a bunch of new games for some reason.
All I really expect is
Large segment about the new zelda
Splatoon 3 dlc
Something about the mario kart pass
A bunch of bad looking indie shovelware
Maybe they reveal some mario-related project at the end since the movie is coming out soon
Hopefully odyssey 2
advance wars should be the april game
Nintendo will announce their first party games will come to the...
*rubs nipples furiously*
STEEEEAAAAMM DEEEEECCKK!!!
Would a new Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble work on Switch?
Pikmin 4 release date is really all I care about
I think the last two happened in a wednesday, and the eShop updates for Tears of the Kingdom and Advance Wars mean it's happening soon, so either February 1st or 8th.
I don't expect to see much other than Tears of the Kingdom, Advance Wars, DLC and some ports/remasters.
Why not the weeks afterwards
I'd agree with the 8th, I don't see it happening this week unless they want to push Engage sales a bit.
I hope Iwata is burning in hell for releasing the plague known as "Nintendo Directs" upon the world.
>when is the next direct
>is there going to be a Nintendo direct soon?
>some guy said there's going to be a Nintendo direct next week
>i have a Nintendo direct leak
>i guess there isn't a direct after all
>when will there be a direct
>what would you like to see announced at a direct
>there's a direct happening according to some guy on twitter
>NINTENDO ANNOUNCED A DIRECT
>I hope they announce a new earthbound, metroid, f zero, star tropics, pilotwings, starfox and donkey kong game
*direct happens*
>why didn't they announce a new metroid, f zero star tropics, pilotwings starfox pr donkey kong game. I was told they were going to announce these worst direct ever
*a day later*
>When is the next Nintendo direct?
>leak says were getting a new direct next week with 15 new announcements including a new starfox, wave race, golden sun and sin&punishment. Its It's happening Nintendo wooooooooon
>WHAT? BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS GOING TO BE A DIRECT
>when is the direct happening, will there be a direct, i want a direct give us a direct Nintendo i think its time we get a direct. Hope we get a new direct soon
I hate you homosexuals.
>I hope Iwata is burning in hell for releasing the plague known as "Nintendo Directs" upon the world.
t. assblasted journo
Give me the Xenoblade 3 story DLC trailer and Zelda news and I’ll be happy
Fingers crossed that it isn't Founders for the DLC.
Don’t get your hopes up, meh.
I think we are going to have one march that will primarily cover zelda and the mario movie
Why no February one?
I hope for News on Triangle strategy, dont care if its dlc, sequel, a simple update, ill take fricking anything
Other then that botw 2 not being delayed since ive been dying to play it
It seems pretty likely that Pikmin 4 is getting delayed.
you can tell just by how little the trailer showed off, it just reeks of 'we have nothing to really show but we'll announce it anyway so the year looks full, we'll just keep quiet about it and then delay it to early or mid 2024'
Knowing how Nintendo treats Pikmin, it will be a Switch exclusive released right around the time of the Switch 2’s launch. And it will flop from being overshadowed by the new console. Nintendo’s takeaway? Pikmin is a dead franchise. In short, they’re going to Chibi Robo it.
sounds accurate
Reminds me of the time Samus Returns and Warioware Gold released on 3DS while the Switch was already out and didn’t do so great, I fricking hate Nintendo for sabotaging good franchises. Pic unrelated maybe?
We at least got Metroid Dread, but I am expecting Prime 4 to be the swan song for the Switch before the next Nintendo console comes out.
>TOTK news at long fricking last
>MK8D DLC wave 4
>maybe advance wars
>S/V DLC
>maybe pikmin 4 news if we're lucky
>a wildcard spinoff of something
I hope they announce a new 2D Mario to go along with the movie. 2D Mario has always sold a lot more than the 3D series since it's a lot easier to control and play for casual audiences, so it would make sense
it's unlikely but I'd love to see them seriously shake it up and try and adapt the free approach of their recent games like BotW, Oddysey and Bowser's Fury and try to do it for 2D Mario. just anything as long as it's not the same NSMB bullshit
I don't even know what I want from a direct. Most games I like already got a new game recently or already have something announced.
Maybe a new Mario game would be cool, but I wouldn't be hyped for that.
Nintendo Switch 2023 so far
January:
>Fire Emblem Engage
February:
>Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe
March:
>Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon
>You Are Already Thin! Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star
May:
>The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Announced for 2023:
>Front Mission 2: Remake
>Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE
>Pikmin 4
>Rune Factory 3 Special
>Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life
Beyond:
>Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp
>Front Mission 3: Remake
>Metroid Prime 4
>Resident Evil Outrage aka Revelations 3
Feels good lads
>Wii U game BAD
>Wii U game on Switch GOOD
God I need pikmin 4 more than I have needed any other game in the past few years.
mk8 is not that good
3d all stars is emulated ports
splatoon 3 belongs in top tier, but splatoon 2 is mid
why the frick is shield in shit tier but sword isn't? they're both horrid
scarlet/violet are mid at the least
The fact that Mario Kart effectively half-skipped this console, but they still weren't willing to put out an F-Zero to fill the racing market, is very sad. I want boost power. Another problem is Advance Wars Reboot Camp if they put it out as originally intended or earlier in the Switch’s Life it would’ve been a decent revival and look at it now, it’s being held hostage due to world events.
As much as I would like to see F-Zero for the Switch, I think I would rather have it for next generation. Not because the Switch's own graphics won't make the game look good. Its because Nintendo caps the Switch's internet bandwith at average less than 30-50mbps download and 10mbps upload even when wired. The next system needs gigabit ethernet via proper USB 3.0 ports.
>Resident Evil Outrage aka Revelations 3
I wish. Capcom really dropped the ball not having this ready last year
>Age of Calamity, one of the worst musou games, in Mid
>Three Hopes, the best musou game by a large margin, in Low
No bias here, no sir.
Literally nothing but shovelware and very niche stuff. BOTW2 is gonna be delayed until december at least.
What a disaster.
After the Shitty Emblem hype has died down
My biggest pipe dream is Mario Warriors
I expect a Xenoblade Warriors at some point before a Mario Warriors
Rumor is that Koei is working with Nintendo on a new project. So it really could go either way. We know that Monolith soft is working on 3 different projects outside of DLC. So that is Baten Kaitos remake, Original IP and one mysterious one that we have no word of what it is. Could be Xenoblade Warriors. Would be pretty cool if they start to show a trailer, everyone thinks that it is XC3 DLC and it turns out to be that instead.
New Fatal Frame perhaps for the KT partnership? I feel like MonolithSoft would probably work on an X remake or sequel for a future console in the meantime.
>Koei
Watch it be more Fire Emblem shit
>We know that Monolith soft is working on 3 different projects
we do?
It's Xenoblade X2 moron
I’m surprised they haven’t ported xenoblade chronicles over to switch yet, seems like an obvious move
I meant xenoblade chronicles x
They've already said that doing it would cost as much as making a brand new game so it makes no sense from a financial standpoint. The game is tailored to the wii u hardware and the switch isn't powerful enough to brute force it.
Watch it be Star Wars Warriors or the Mario Musou
this year is going to suck because there won't be a switch 2 and since they probably have all their big teams developing games for it they'll just dump the literally who games on switch like they did with wii u in 2016, prepare for ports, shovelware and lazy gamecube remasters
It's Kirby time
The WW/TP port will probably be one of the last games released for the Switch. The only reason they’ve been sitting on it so long is because they don’t want to sell it for less than $60.
Nah it’s going to be an indie dumpster
How likely is it that the rumored Baten Kaitos remake gets announced at the next Direct?
Not impossible, but unlikely. The rumor says E3
Feb 1st or 8th, no latter. They always do it around the investor meeting to show them what they have planned and to give the public sufficient hype to make sure the investors have confidence in the company.
Not true at all. At least do some research fricking moron. They've done it a week and two weeks AFTER the investors meeting the last few years
Nintendo is the Disney of Video Games…
if the GameCube and GBA wasn't peak Nintendo, what was?
The Wii but you don’t see many ports of those on Switch, except the upcoming Kirby RTDLDX
Can’t wait for rtdl’s remake
Wii/DS
nothing
gc and gba were nintendo at their most creative, all their games had new concepts and sometimes it rubbed people the wrong way but who cares, compared to what we get today where they only do safe derivative sequels it was really exciting
Nintendo will refuse to ever do this because it means selling Melee again when they probably want it to die
This would lower GCN prices like mad and make a bunch of coomlectors commit sudoku
I don't know I just hope it's very underwhelming so I can see more menchildren because Scrimble Bimble 3 wasn't announced.
Kirby’s bead attack
Made this poll https://strawpoll.com/polls/7MZ0AzpN4yo
Astral Chain 2 it's gonna happen bros trust the plan
yeah but not before switch 2
Not anytime soon
Do you think mario baseball is happening next direct like the rumors?
seems pretty likely, they already covered the other sports recently
I fully expect Marvel Ultimate Alliance 4 to be announced for this summer. It's been enough time since the last one and you know Nintendo wants that Marvel money. And that Marvel and Disney don't know how to make games so they license them out
>Marvel Ultimate Alliance 4
I hope they made the game with less grind, add more costumes and add attack combos otherwise that is all i want.
Neat
In a thread a few days ago I didn't see it in time to reply but a moron said a leak was fake because it lacked advance wars
yes the preorders are popping up but are there really people dumb enough to think it will be in the direct instead of just an imageless post on twitter that just says advance wars releases x date
Which one was it
The only thing I'm really hoping for is that there happens to finally be some news on Metal Slug Tactics or something on the Nintendo Wars franchise.
Also I'm not sure entirely sure why people expect a new Kirby game when two came out fairly recently and one is releasing in under a month. At most one can just expect Forgotten Land DLC and/or updates and probably extra news on RtDL deluxe on stuff we may or may not know.
Listen to kpop!
Sorry if this was posted earlier today, but the back of the boxart for Return to Dreamland Deluxe got leaked and we're gonna be getting an epilogue with Magolor after Kirby and his friends beat the crap out of him and he disappeared. Honestly, I was kind of expecting this, but not quite in this way.
This year is going to be a fricking trashfire and if you don't think so then you've never owned a Nintendo console before. The last year of a Nintendo console is always a drought because they're focusing everything on the next console. TotK will be the last big release.
>hopes
Whatever the Mario team has been doing since Odyssey. I'd even take a new 2d platformer as long as it has cool power powerups.
Metroid Prime 4 trailer.
Kid Icarus/Earthbound/F-Zero getting anything at all
Something cool out of left field like a new Punch-Out or Yoshi's Island game
Nintendogs Switch
>fears
3rd party shovelware
TotK is the only big game
>expectations
Mario Movie trailer
TotK footage
3rd party shovelware
Mario Kart and Pokemon dlc teasers
A short teaser at the end of the direct hinting at a new game for one of the big franchises, or Star Fox maybe.
The big February direct reveal is gonna be 2D Mario, almost 100%. It's too obvious with both the timing and the movie coming out.
My prediction is that it wont be called New Super Mario Bros, but it will basically be a new super game with more interesting level themes.
