That’s what happens when you keep making prequels. Especially one in between a main game and another prequel.
What are you talking about? Peace Walker was kino
That one still has enough distance from other events. They were really stretching it by V.
>What are you talking about?
V being between Peace Walker and MGS1. try to keep up, brainlet
Nothing fucking happened in that game either and Ground Zeroes further solidifies that.
What about the rise of Outer Heaven? Why did Kojima make some pointless game about literal who Medic instead?
This is about the rise of Outer Heaven as well as the ultimate fall of Big Boss, you did listen to the tapes right anon?
none of this happens in the game
Yup it sure does. Venom builds Diamond Dogs as a way to take heat off Big Boss going around the globe putting together Outer Heaven and eventually DD gets turned into Outer Heaven. Big Boss finally falls to the point that he doesn't really care about one of his most loyal soldiers being turned into a puppet. All of it happens in the game with the tapes giving you a little more context.
theres a 10/10 somewhere in there. you just have to squint. besides the story kojima wanted to tell, he isnt mature enough to make. peace walker had a talking cat, ghost hunts, and a fight with a dragon while this game has the rape of 3 POWs. Chico, paz, and quiet.
>peace walker
>talking cat
Wait what
?t=115
god just watching this makes me want to replay, peace walker is so comfy
Oh I didn't play any of the Monster Hunter bullshit. The shitty fucking AI bosses and hunting Zadornov were bad enough. probably because I had no friends to co-op it with
>monster hunter bullshit
oh anon, it was good! I say this as someone who played alone on ps3 fairly recently for the first time.
apparently the HD collection version is playable on PS3 emulators now. and there's a monster hunter LAN tool that people use to play the PSP version together.
no shit, play mgs4 instead
Whenever I reinstall this game to try and finish the main story and to touch back on nostalgic stealth fun I realize how much padding and bloat is in this game
they should have stuck to defined spaces and then not bothered with the rest of the open world. the main mission areas like the dam, bases and villages are all great in themselves
Filtered, and I'm not even poking fun. I pity (You).
I'm sure the open world was always an afterthought, it only exists so individual locations can be stitched together in larger missions. In service of that goal it does its job fine, but it's a shame the world feels so empty in free roam.
>but it's a shame the world feels so empty in free roam.
I 100% blame the fact that this game released on 360/ps3. Not only is it a miracle they even run, but it also explains so much about the game and why its so...shit
>I 100% blame the fact that this game released on 360/ps3
I wouldn't be surprised if this limited a lot of features, but I just don't think fleshing out the open world maps was ever a design priority. Free Roam exists because people would complain if it wasn't available, and Side Ops/animal rescue NGO bullshit were shoehorned in to give players something to do beyond mindless soldier/resource farming. To be fair, some of the Side Ops were pretty fun/memorable, there were a few gems among the padding.
>why its so...shit
we can agree to disagree.
nothing beyond "BiBo fucks around in the 1970s/1980s" was ever in the cards because the previously-established lore doesn't leave room for much else. That's pretty much what I expected, and that's pretty much what I got, so I was satisfied.
I can name five memorable moments from Code Talker alone. Did you actually play the game, Anon?
>Entering the Devil's House
that entire mission was great, possibly the best in the whole game. There was a real sense of wandering into the unknown as you went deeper and deeper into the bush, and the payoff at the Devil's House was excellent.
Stop defending this unfinished piece of shit
just because it has cut content doesn't make it unfinished little zoom
>70% of the game is cut
>that doesn't make it unfinished!
LMAO
yeah one mission that was cut shortly after the idea phase is 70% of the game I wish I could be as suicidally depressed as you lmao
>chapter 3 with Eli cut
>chapter 4 in Russia cut
>chapter 5 in New York cut
and that's just the surface
>no chapter 6 in Liberia
>no chapter 7 in Zanzibarland
>no chapter 8 in Shadow Moses
we were cheated
but that would mean spending less time with celebrities and actually making a game!
Bros... Just think... MGSV is just 10% of what we COULD have had if Kojimbo hadn't spent all his time looking at Stephanie Joosten's ass...
>if Kojimbo hadn't spent all his time looking at Stephanie Joosten's feet
ftfy
That's coming in the silent hills expansion, have faith.
Where are you getting 70% from anon?
Genuinely asking, not bait
you're so mad
>muh unfinished
shut the fuck up drone
name 10 memorable moments from MGSV
it's impossible
Not him, but there are moments that stood out to me in the story.
>The prologue hospital sequence
>Entirety of Shinning Lights and the ending speech by Venom
>First encounter with Sahelanthropus
>Jeep Ride (yes really)
>Entering the Devil's House
>The Truth
>Paz's entire subplot
>Quiet's goodbye
>Meeting Code Talker
To name a few. Now I wonder if you can name me 10 memorable moments from Ground Zeroes or Peace Walker
It's really amazing just how uninterested and apathetic toward their own story every character in the game is. Nobody seems to give a fuck if their plans of revenge or world domination even succeed.
Yeah, end of peace walker pretty much shows how Snake rejected the boss, and proudly started calling himself Big Boss.
From the trailer of V it looked they were going to develop more on that, but it turns out only thing they did was just retconning MG2's "Big Boss is a Snatcher" thing.
Imagine if the quality and polish of Ground Zeroes was applied to V proper.
Imagine if Kojima was allowed to do his thing (perhaps with some more oversight and cajoling) and it was all one complete, polished game. Instead of being forced to release the equivalent of the tanker level as a paid demo before being kicked out and the existing work stitched into a disappointment that could be shoved out the door.
GZ is quite clunky in the gameplay department compared to TPP and most of the missions are exactly the same shit. Rescue, assassination, demolition and that one shitty helicopter chase sequence. Not sure why people suck this "game" (demo) off so much.
They're talking about the main course, the experience of the one infiltration mission with story, done essentially as MGS has historically been about but with modernized gameplay. You are retarded.
Infiltrating bases or facilities is a thing in MGSV, and I'd argue that with the gameplay improvements it's far more enjoyable. Pitch Dark, Hellbound, and OKB Zero are good examples of this. In other words, you're a disingenuous cretin.
Mainlining the story of GZ spends 100% of time on what they're praising. Mainlining the story of TPP is like 10%.
>you're a disingenuous cretin
no u gay
>Mainlining the story of TPP is like 10%.
No, it's not.
I COULD go down the list of episodes and grade each as yes, kinda, no and demonstrate what a gay you are. But I don't care enough.
>I COULD
Go ahead then
>I see here that you came up with 20%, not 10%. I also disagree with some of your evaluation so really it's 30%
>(still compared to 100%)
>Therefore you are wrong. Sucks to suck. Take the L sweaty.
>Infiltrating bases or facilities
When the game is just this it's probably one of the best I've ever played.
But then there are missions like Occupation Forces, which made me realize I have to actually interact with and build up the Mother Base systems to complete this fucking mission.
Leave the horse or a car on the road and run up to fulton the vehicles. It's so stupid.
>Leave the horse or a car on the road and run up to fulton the vehicles. It's so stupid.
Or just place mines and C4 to blow them up
>Occupation Forces, which made me realize I have to actually interact with and build up the Mother Base systems to complete this fucking mission
It kinda helps to not suck ass at the game. You can do it with some C4 and the default RPG with no stalling shenanigans required. You just need to choose a good spot where you don't get blown up by the other tank immediately and be able to give chase to pick off the last vehicle if need be.
>Leave the horse or a car on the road and run up to fulton the vehicles.
>It's so stupid.
Yes. And?
The worst part of any MGS game is where you're going Loud, blowing up shit and fending off enemies.
Having entire missions dedicated to that? No thanks, I'll do them because I have to but wont enjoy them. Never enjoyed a Metal Gear fight either, just some small dude running around like an ant firing off rockets vs. a big robot. Yawn
>fending off enemies
That's only what going loud is if you suck at both it and stealth to begin with. Going loud can and should always start from stealth. You only reveal yourself when you're set up to decisively slap everything's shit.
the horse or a car on the road and run up to fulton the vehicles.
>>It's so stupid.
>Yes. And?
Blocking the road with a horse or car isn't even stupid. That's basic ambush shit. It's trying to go full stealth on that mission by fultoning that's stupid.
>You can do it with some C4 and the default RPG with no stalling shenanigans required
No thanks, I wanted a stealth-infiltration game similar to the ones Ive been playing for over a decade now
At the very least, 3 had plenty of opportunity for going loud and arguably even encouraged it. And V is attached to 3 most of anything.
he seems to think he's playing Splinter Cell or something
>he seems to think he's playing Splinter Cell or something
MGS 3 is a spy mission. Why the FUCK would I not focus on sneaky infiltration as much as I can? The good thing about having the option to go Loud is that it's an option.
yes
retard
Missions where you're forced to go loud are lame.
you aren't forced
>most of the missions are exactly the same shit.
yeah, because it was restricted to one area.
it was basically a playable tech demo.
MGSV should have been a series of bases strung together semi-linearly, with incentives to go back and replay ones you've already completed. None of that empty open world shit that accomplished nothing.
What are you talking about the open areas are parceled up into different missions and side ops to travel to, and is generally varied quite a bit from place to place. And the distance between bases makes things like fast travel viable. These stupid meme complaints need to end because they are spouted by people who never learned how to actually play the game
I think he's right if you think of some of the open areas as being like bases. Places like the villages that feel 'open' but aren't really should have be kept, its the miles of bush and guardposts between that doesn't do much except host the odd side mission or serve as an intro the actual meaty bit of the mission. Those will have taken taken time away from polishing the main areas and should have been dropped. If they'd done that they'd have finished it properly -and- the actual base missions would have been insane. There's a good proportion of each base where nothing actually happens and you don't really need to go into it, like the office part of the airstrip. Making the main missions there more detailed and putting a few more vents and lockers in and directing you to have to use them to pass the missions would have made the best game in the series by a mile.
>Imagine if a $40 demo was a full game
It would cost $300
they could've added in the map maker and people would be playing it to this day
instead the retards did some zombies bullshit and went back to pachinko
With what little tools were available, people did try to make some actually good sideops. We totally could have had community-produced content fleshing the open world into something good.
The game had enough JANK to be fun
Janky Games are the best Games
A review
>enjoy anti woke content
Why in the fuck does this entitled piece of shit have a PayPal link?
This video has less than 300 views
They call it garden gnometube for a reason!
Was there ever any real inkling of the MGSV financial story? Did the long dev time actually threaten profitability? Would allowing it to be finished have paid off?
In a way V and PT hurt the profits considering how Konami was looking at it based on how much console games were making and the cost of creating them vs the mobile market and its potential profits
MGSV was the worst selling mainline MGS
Konami was not in the wrong for wanting it out the door asap
And also that's the reason why there was a paid demo for the game, to try and recoup some losses
SUCH LUST FOR REVENGE
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO???????
>is carried away by like 6 soldiers
What a fucking shitpost this game was, whenever I feel like replaying it I'm reminded of how you have to be driven around for like 20 minutes hearing the ramblings of some autistic retard that dislikes english
you can skip it
Plenty happens
I dont know why its impossible to have honest discussions about this game
Everyone just lies about it its like people played a completely different game than what the real game is
missing the point: the post
Riding around Afghanistan looking for some Soviets to bamboozle is symbolic of the feeling of loss, the pain you carry and being out on the ocean hunting moby dick
>it was bad on purpose!
I wouldn't put this past Kojima but that doesn't automatically make it enjoyable in a meta way
It's not bad though
>Inb4 yes it is
It wasn't bad. The gameplay, story and graphics are all good. You reach big moments in the story like waves. It's one of the top 5 games of the last 10 years
2015 was the start of a vidya gold age to rival the 90s
It pretty much all happens in the last 20% and then ends with a few hours of disjointed cutscenes and random missions loosely strung together as a narrative
My only issue with this game was the fucking dogshit foward base system and the whole "haha get your soldiers taken away lmao" while everyone just cheated S soldiers that behaved in any wau different other soldiers did
Did you rike it?
>implying sneaking in, blowing up a high value target, and giving the slip to the reaction isn't peak stealth
DURR DURR DURR
MGS has always been about legendary soldiers. Stealth is the peak of that but there has always been outright fights. If you think they're a genuine detriment then either you take issues with the gameplay implementation of the fight or you're just a god damn plebe. The gameplay implementation is inarguably not a problem in V so that just leaves being a plebe.
>If you think they're a genuine detriment then either you take issues with the gameplay implementation of the fight or you're just a god damn plebe.
>gameplay implementation not a problem in V
I get what you mean and I do agree but I really hated the Parasite Units. I remember one mission where you're forced to fight them at the end, and the mission completely shifts in tone I think
