I wish they had just handwaved it away, but instead we get a massive exposition dialogue dump near the end of the game about how MI2's ending didn't happen actually.
they could have had a more interesting ending but instead they spend it harping over MI2 to appease crybaby fans
This
MI2 is the best MI game, plus it doesn't have the insult grinds that 1, 3 and 4 have. It's definitely my favourite, and I really enjoy the Special Edition look; it's very faithful to the original game without being OTT or over-designed like Secret SE was
I liked it the most, but I think 2 is a better game. 4 is just shit and 5 got fricked by being episodic and also looking dated.
I've asking for year for Disney to make an animated series or something but the new artstyle for 6 makes me hope they don't.
>is locked down to low resolutions and looks like garbage due to the small file sizes
not really but still whatever
it really does not matter after all this time
point and clicks have been a genre for so long that lucas arts stuff is not even relevant anymore except for a few weirdos and old people the remasters are the best and I'm sick and tired of pretending they aren't because they don't stick to poor decisions that were made ages ago
>the remasters are the best
The only thing the remasters gave us was the talkie versions of the originals, the best way to play them, otherwise they're total shit.
I don't think he's a hack, Thimbleweed Park shows he can still design a competent point-n-click adventure even if arguably the writing was less sharp. I think he just got it in his mind that fans of his older games wanted him to regurgitate the Zac McCracken or Monkey Island look for the rest of his life and he knee-jerked into the ugliest possible artstyle and when people did the obvious thing and told him that it looked like shit it confirmed his preconceived idea that his fans were crotchety old boomers who were shackling him to a retro artstyle. I'll at least pirate the new MI to see if it's a decent puzzle game.
>best Monkey Island game
oxymoron, as with all point and click garbage. your series has been rightfully destroyed
Zoom zoom
Woke pls go back to sucking Ron's small dick
how has it been destroyed when it ended satisfactorily?
>Point and click
>garbage
Point and Click games were fricking wild and were imaginative in ways modern vidya could never even dream of being.
That isn't LeChuck's Revenge in the pic
2 can't be the best with that ending
Which was further canonized by the beginning of the third.
They basically handwaved that ending away

>not liking "it was all a dream!" makes you a crybaby
Eat shit buddy

Always was.
I have hopes for the new one

What if someone upscales all characters and backgrounds to 4kHD?
I'd like to see someone try that but it will most likely never be actually playable

3 > 1 > 4 > 2
All four are good.
>4 > 2
No. You can't top the soul of the first game
2>3>1 but that doesn't mean 1 is bad, they're all excellent games.
Almost 1 hour of insult swordfighting was a big mistake
As was the 10 minutes of telling Stan to drop extras so you could buy the ship
No, the Stan thing was funny.
>Almost 1 hour of insult swordfighting
You can easily get through that in 10 minutes
Agreed
3 > 1 > 2 >>> 4 >>>> Telltale ones >>>>>> whatever the frick Ron Gilbert is ruining right now
I liked the Telltale game better than 4, 4 looks terrible now
hehe

Thimbleweed Park was self-indulgent garbage
I always did
