>overindulge in meme culture
Neither game did this, they pumped out moronic memes though
Also i wholehearted disagree, portal 2 has an awesome sense of scale and has better atmosphere imo but both games are great
I think its a natural idea, considering its supposed to be an allusion to the children's science project of using a potato as a power source for a light bulb. Its both an insult to glados and shows funny that wheatley probably thinks his childrens science project is clever
1 definitely. 2 had some really cool area themeing and the coop campaign was great but the writing and (lack of) difficulty in the main game really brought it down (not that 1 was hard but it was short and sweet in comparison).
1 is funnier and more focused on the puzzle aspect. Most of 2 feels like a tour through a factory that just so happens to have bits of puzzles scattered around.
No co-op doesn't save 2, anyone who's actually played it knows it's an experiment to make you hate your friend.
It's portal 1. 2 is good but it is missing the brevity and restraint that gives Portal 1 the superior atmosphere.
To be fair, portal 2 can't have the horror elements in aperture upper when the first game revealed everything that created the tension in the first place.
It can hardly be helped when you know too much about the setting the second time around. But it also doesn't help when they try to write this big, in-your-face comedy.
A big part of that is the assumption at the start of the game that the voice you're hearing is pre-recorded. Only when you try escaping does GLaDOS start saying "I" and "me", revealing she is active and self-aware.
1 > 2
2 is a movie game filled with unskippable cutscenes. Insufferable to "play" and it's hilarious there hasn't never been a mod to allow you to skip them.
valve games were never good
Portal 1 has way better atmosphere as well as mystery and doesn’t overindulge in meme culture

2 was trying too hard with the potato thing, and the fact that it didn't catch on shows how it fell flat.
I think its a natural idea, considering its supposed to be an allusion to the children's science project of using a potato as a power source for a light bulb. Its both an insult to glados and shows funny that wheatley probably thinks his childrens science project is clever
They had an entire potato-themed marketing campaign in the run-up to the release where you earned potatoes for a chance at a Steam giveaway.
glados isn't going to frick you dude
>doesn’t overindulge in meme culture
It literally spawned years of pretentious normie memes before normie even knew what memes were. How old are you?
1
1 and it's not even close
1 by far
what a weird thing to hate a game over, enough that you bothered to make this image
Lost nuance is real, anon. Game devs often forget cool things they did during development. Or bring on new, uninformed people.
Portal 2 Multiplayer for me
1 definitely. 2 had some really cool area themeing and the coop campaign was great but the writing and (lack of) difficulty in the main game really brought it down (not that 1 was hard but it was short and sweet in comparison).
>Portal gets a Switch Port.
>Half Life 2 doesn't.
>Orange Box on the Switch
>TF2 with Nintendo themed hats and weapons
>Switch TF2 is the only way to play that isn't infested by bots.
The Switch already has a hat simulator.
pretty funny that I can't play portal 1 or 2 on my PS5 but soon i will be able to on my switch
Portal 1 is comfy and an easier sell on the setting. 2 is just bombastic and over the top.
Plus Portal 1 came with TF2. The orange box remains the best package deal in gaming.

>that moment when the game in the co op campaign wants you to air strafe
I never have wanted to die of shame more than that 5-10 minutes
Portal 1.
2 fricking sucked. It pretty much had no real puzzles and was an on-rails '''experience''' for Reddit-tier writing and le ebin maymays.
Maybe it was unintentional but Portal 1 had a lot of horror elements that were abandoned in 2.
those horror elements are just unknown unexplained lore
you're just complaining about every valve sequel in existence.
It's portal 1. 2 is good but it is missing the brevity and restraint that gives Portal 1 the superior atmosphere.
To be fair, portal 2 can't have the horror elements in aperture upper when the first game revealed everything that created the tension in the first place.
They could have had it in lower aperture though.
It can hardly be helped when you know too much about the setting the second time around. But it also doesn't help when they try to write this big, in-your-face comedy.

1 is one of the best games ever made.
2 is one of the worst games ever made.
Artifact
Portal Reloaded. 95% of Ganker can't beat it without cheating
Is the course creator there?
>Course creator
>on anything but steam
lmao
2 is better
>Half Life 3 is released
>Turns out that the Combine is commanded by an alternate universe Cave Johnson.
Portal 2 is one of those games I'm sure everyone enjoyed at the time, but Ganker has gaslighted them into hating it.
I still enjoy the shit out of it and the level creator alone makes it way better than the first game
portal 2 on switch won't have the chapter 9 achievement
Depends. PS3 version had Steam integration. Many games have their own internal achievement systems as well.
why not
I don't know I just thought it wouldn't
Still funny since the chapter name still appears onscreen
Half Life

Portal is not Ganker core frick off
Is it out? How does it run?
Portal 1 because Chell was barefoot
