I have 400 hours in BD and I recently started a new game of SP.
They seem to me to be the last classic Pokémon experience we'll possibly have (except if ILCA remakes BW in the same style).
Both games don't try to innovate the formula or add gameplay experiments that no one fricking asked for like Megas, Z Moves, Gigantamax/Dynamax or Terastallize.
And the best thing is that the game only contains the Kanto - Sinnoh Pokémon.
They also didn't make the mistake of LGPE by adding forms from another region and characters.
The 3DS generation was unironically so, so much better than what we got on the Switch, and it even wasn't that good. The franchise just gets worse and worse. How did BDSP get away with having LESS than a remake from 5 years ago? 10? 15? Sadly, SV will be the best-selling games in the franchise along with SwSh and many fans on Twitter/R*ddit will love them.
The main issue with the 3DS games were :
XY, ORAS didnt had good post game content which ruined its reputation.
SM, USM are horrible games to replay due to unskippable handholding cutscenes and linear world.
However compared to the switch games??? Holy shit they are miles ahead.
