Now that the dust has settled, are mini sentries really a positive addition to the TF2 experience?

I like using them, and they're very easy to take out if I'm going against them.
>lmao lets just make koth unplayable for scouts
Never should have been added
cry more sc**t
You love me when im on your team
>Ah FRICK I have to work with my TEAM
>makes engineer fun
Yes.
in a highlander or lower pop map? yes
in casual 12v12 ffa on small, cramped maps or when there are multiple engineers? frick em
t. not even a scout main
anything that makes Hightower players seethe is a positive in my book
>absolute braindead garbage shit that makes people I don't like for schizophrenic reasons seethe is hecking based
beta mindset.
trolldier detected
minis: deployed
finna take the medkits from you with boston smasher LOL!
no
if you "need" to use it to not fall behind that means you are playing the wrong class at the moment and would do much better playing anything else (except spy)
Just fricking shoot a rocket at it.
>just already be a specific class, bro
2 rockets
2 stickies
2 corner-peakef dragons fury
1 grenade or direct hit
1 huntsman arrow
1 charged half-rifle shot
Everything else is a jank solution but yeah it really limits your options without taking damage
Nowadays they are fine but when they first released and for a few years after they were complete bullshit. I still don't think they need the faster turn speed though, that or limit it to only a 180 degree radius.
Yeah, they're great
why is she so sexy
people who complain about mini sentries are moronic. They *can* be annoying at times, yeah, but what the frick isn't in the fricking game. Especially after the nerfs in 2015 the only people who complain about it are reddit brainwaved scout mains
>calling others reddit when you're using the moat reddit weapon in the game
lol
The only thing I don't like about them is their range, and if the enemy team has two mini sentries you often have to waste your entire clip as demo or soldier to remove them as first priority only to be forced into reloading while they put them back up.
Overall I think they're fine
For me it's switching to direct hit soldier and deleting all enemy mini sentries in one click
gunslinger+widow engi is my second most played class. dump a mini as a distraction they can't just ignore while I prioritize fricking people in the face with the widowmaker. failing that leave it was a minor protection for the tele exit or dispenser while, again, fricking people in the face with the widowmaker.
no but why bother complaining about it since this game is never getting a rebalance ever again
i'd rather have 3 minis than a single engineer spammimg short circuit on payload. That shit is cancer
It gives engineer a use in games where the team and objectives are more mobile at the cost of removing the safety that a level 3 forward setup provides
Even as someone who basically only plays demoknight, scout, and trolldier I can recognize the value and versatility it brings
They are absolutely better designed than regular Sentries conceptually.
Regular
>Cost so much to build that you need to keep it in a safe location
>Has second highest health in the game, so only the highest DPS in the game or a Sapper can possibly take one down
>Also has incredibly high DPS itself, so you need to has Demo HP at minimum to take it down if it's in a funny spot
>Can be healed to nearly full in about the same time a Medic can heal a light class
>Deploys slowly, so dropping one in the middle of a fire fight is not an option
>Entirely encourages Engineer to turtle along with his base HP and "sidegrade" secondaries that make it hard for the Sentry to be killed by aren't for mobile engies
Mini
>Cheap to make
>Has less health than Scouts, so you don't need to be fricking Demo or Soldier to take one out
>DPS is good for what it is, being an extra entity that fights along Engineer
>Is always healed to full, but is sometimes cheaper and better choice to let it die
>Deploys fast, meaning you can realistically have it during a fight
>Along with the HP upgrade, encourages Engineers to actually play the game instead of basically having a glorified job where you just set up and occasionally hit your buildings or shot a spy
Unironically should have been the default, along with the Dragon's Fury for Pyro and The Classic for Sniper.
Son, you just ain't doing it right
I almost exclusively play HybridKnight now, so I don't give two shit about them as a single pipe handles the problem.
I like them but more as a deployable distraction because people really under estimate the power of the basic shotgun and normally seem to hyperfocus on the mini sentry forgetting I can still 3 or 4 shot heavies.
>join casual
>4 engis with wranglers defending the second point in Barnblitz
I hate engis so fricking much
Skill issue. Both as an individual and as a team.
/srs or /j?
I enjoy making trolldiers cry, so yeah
