Every shit like this is the result of playtesting, they purposefully chose the most moronic fricks in the planet to give imput and thats how you get prompts everywhere and this yellow paint bullshit.

now that the dust has settled was this really necessary

vidya is a multimillion dollar industry and the "we need a wider audience" its been a goal for a long time.
So thats why they chose the most moronic normalgay that even hates videogames to have a saying, because in the end the same level of people will do the journalism for it.

More like, they drop in people who never played games, give them a controller and don't explain anything about the game or the abilities, and somehow they're surprised that people don't know barrels are breakable after they ran into crates that can't be destroyed for two minutes.

        >someone reported the planet orbits on no man sky as a bug
Its more than peopople who dont play games, they probably take them from a mental ward or something.

No thankfully adventure and puzzle games that require you to think still exist even if they are few and far between.

Yes considering a button prompt comes up when close enough.
    >b-but what about the ladders
You mean the one ladder that's at the end of a linear path. Wow, much confuse, many choices...

be cool if they just gave you the option to turn it off
would be even cooler if crapcom gave us a new onimusha or dino crisis instead of resident evil remake: the remake, the remastered: re remastered edition.

It stops being diagetic when you do it so excessively that it feels fake. It would have been more immersive if you just had Deux Ex detective vision that made them glow.

I think this should be default, but considered an accessibility feature, or a HUD feature. With the option to disable it.

What's the point of having the button prompt when they already are yellow, or why are they yellow when you have the button prompt? The original had neither and if I remember correctly it told you once that you can break shit

To be fair, in the original, it's like watching a cartoon and seeing a door with a brighter/slightly different tone of color from the others. They're recognizable because they were out of place and because there was less stuff to interact with

I assumed that it's more or less the same in the remake since I haven't played it. If you have stuff to interact with they definitely needed to make those barrels more clear, although there was definitely a better way

I haven't played it either, but the texture work in RE4 was very shoddy so breakable barrels and stuff like that REALLY stood out. Now with the RE engine and shit? Maybe it's harder?
A simpler solution would have been put like a metal bit on it like the Los Illuminados logo that glimmers like in older RE games.

That would be a great solution, you might need to change the puzzle (if it's in the remake in the first place) where you need to input the Los Illuminados logo as it would get a lot easier since you see it everywhere

They could've just made the metal rings yellow instead

No but of all the yellow paint games it bother me the least in re4.

A year ago, I just wrote it off as "it is what it is" when it comes to modern super-busy, photorealistic graphics. However Hellblade 2, which has significantly more busy/hyper-detailed visuals, has only the most minimal of white chalk on interactable ledges and the like. I never really had any issue quickly recognizing things I could interact with.
So, now I'm gonna say it's pretty pathetic on Capcom's part just how overboard they went with the visual markers in RE4make. The "they had to make it easy for morons to play the game!" excuse doesn't work when Hellblade 2 is also a game made for art-sniffing passive-experience-enjoyers.

No, where do developers get the idea that playtesters getting lost amounts to lost sales? The morons that can't find anything on their own will still buy the game.

No, and the discourse surrounding it was fricking insufferable. You had one side arguing that there's a huge variety of ways to guide players and teach them mechanics that are still diegetic and aesthetically pleasing and the other side was arguing that gamers are morons and you're a moron and yellow paint yellow paint yellow paint. People intentionally dumbed the discussion down to "yellow paint bad" as a means to obfuscate the real criticism, which was that yellow paint is overused and often clashes with the game's art direction.

Argued with a friend who played RE4r and thought the yellow paint was necessary. Asked him how he knew to break the vases in the castle without them being painted yellow. Conversation ended there.
